    so for everyone commenting on technique, practicality, and other things like that. 1. Yes, you most definitely could cut through the rack 10 times easier than cutting through the lock, but then you have a massive 13lb weight on the bike you're riding. ( and that's if the person didn't attach it to the wheel) 2. Yes, his technique wasn't the best, but are most bike thieves going to do much better? And even with great technique, it would still take far to long to cut through the lock. 3. Yes, the size of this lock is ridiculous, it's not really for you to ride around with. It's more of a stay in place lock, wherein you put it on a rack that you use a lot and you leave it there and lock your bike in when needed. Overall I would say this video is a decent showcase of a good product and how it's fairly thief deterrent. And overall I would say this comment section is a fantastic showcase of a bunch of people failing to see the point of a video.

    • @scottwa
      @scottwa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Also probably weighs more than your bike... who the hell wants to carry that stupidly large lock around that has minimal ways of securing a bike with it? You can't get it through the frame and rear wheel at the same time... and a post/rack. Solves one problem, makes several of it's own problems. But I guess it does show the end result of "If you have a 50lb bike you need a 5lb lock, if you have a 15lb bike, you need a 50lb lock."

    • @chabosmulm
      @chabosmulm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@scottwa well i think this type of lock is more supposed to be used in stationary use, for instance: some have a fixed bike rack at work, where they lock their bike up. In that instance a person would just leave the lock at that post permanetly and just lock their bike once they are there. Another use case might be heavy duty e-bikes that are made for carrying heavy duty around. For instance there are tern bikes, that cost around 3-4k, that have heavy frames and are made to drag hundreds of kilos around (for example the tern gsd s10). These bikes are usually used for grocery shopping or other transportation. Bikes like these could easy just attach the lock at the frame and/or put it in the bike trunk. Then once you are at the grocery store, you would lock your bike there and have the safest shopping experience i could imagine. And think about this: if you bought a bike for 4.000€/$, what is 300 bucks for a lock really? i mean if you get this lock for your 300 bucks mountain bike, you must be out of your mind. If you actually have a 15lb bike, you shouldnt be even locking that thing up anywhere. Best practice would be to have it indoors all time, because a 15lb bike shouldnt be used for grocery shopping or anything remotely similar... it should only be used for sports, therefore never leaving it unattended.
