Just to let you know, I don’t see anyone else on the interwebs remanufacturing LR Series vehicles to your standard of quality at volume. Have you thought about building them with a more modern engine such as a Mercedes-Benz OM604, 605 or 606?!? These are DOHC In-line 4, 5 and 6 cylinder Diesel engines that can be equipped with either a mechanical or electronic Diesel pump. They would make an excellent alternative for any Series you find with a blown engine.

Engine swaps ain't really their thing at NAO. I'm going to look into it more to replace the LD28 in my '70 lwb (5dr, power steer, auto w/L320 seats). But highly doubtful NAO would go there .

@@Deuce1550 I just wrote that because I know that lots of LR Series were abandoned because the engines were bad and they’re fairly weak.

      @@nextechsolutions5955 true.
My first swb '70 had a Holden 202. Current '70 is an LD28. And my 56 project isn't running so no idea if stock motor is any good.
I was just saying NAO is diehard Land-Rover in many respects (such as which factory parts come from) and I respect that.

@@Deuce1550 Ok, the OM604 was produced between 1993-1998, and the OM605 and 606 were made between 1993-2001.

@@nextechsolutions5955 Having owned about 40 Series 2 and 3 Land Rover's I disagree about the engies being "bad" and "weak". Provided, they are maintained correctly they are reliable and good. The petrol (gas) engine can idle down to about 450rpm easily and is quiet almost like a sewing machine and the 5 mainbearing engines are particularly smooth both in petrol and diesel form. There is an argument for the Series Land Rover's being underpowered. However, these vehicles were built in the late 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's when using readily available engines made sense, Britain had a lot more narrow country lanes and a workhorse not a car was why you bought a Land Rover.
The problem many people have with old Land Rover's is, they don't get or understand what a Land Rover is. It was never designed as a car, for speed, for comfort or for drag racing down a boulevard. Pre-2016 Land Rover's are a workhorse and the Series Land Rover even more so.
