Don’t get down Glenda, turn to scripture. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:3. A lot of us are supporting your channel. We are here for you. ❤ God bless all you seniors out there living on social security. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your loved ones, friends and neighbors. There are a lot of good people out there willing to help.

Thank you for the beautiful scripture. I do realize that I need to spend more time reading my Bible when I get into feelings of despair. It's the best way to overcome sadness

Glenda, I think just having a roof over your head is a blessing. I see single women living in their car or on the street on YT. A lot of them are educated, have degrees. Thank God for whatever you may have, I pray He blesses you more. Btw, I lived with an alcoholic for 50years, it was the smoking that finally got him. God bless.🙏💕

Don't waste your time regretting anything. Put the past away, and just be grateful for all the joy in your life. Beautiful people and memories from your life are worth your time. Regrets are worthless.

I am 59. I have some regrets about my lack of preparedness for retirement. I want you to know that your videos helped me to get myself into gear and start saving. I figure that saving something is better than saving nothing at all. I don't a a big chunk saved, but I am saving. I have started a side hustle that I enjoy and it is beginning to build momentum. I am in the process of building another stream of income. I grow a lot of produce and that is not always easy in the Mojave Desert! I am also learning about herbs and natural remedies to help my husband and I if medications get too expensive. Your videos helped me. You (and Prepper Princess) have helped open my eyes and helped me to do the best I can with what all I have. Thank you so much! May God bring you all you need!

Hi Ms. Glenda, I had flu like symptoms back in Dec. 2023 with a severe cough. I did not even get sick with Covid during this whole time and was shocked. That cough lasted a good month. I hope you get better soon.

Glenda, we ALL have regrets and we ALL have to deal with the circumstances ! Lady pull your BIG GIRL Panties up, take a deep breath, and KNOW that if you came this far, you can handle anything !!!!! I live on SS, and have been recovering from covid since Xmas, I am 73 years old, and I realize that my life is a struggle and will not get any better........BUT.........there are people that have less. I do have a roof over my head, so do you......I have heat and AC, so do you........I do have food to eat, so do you........ what the hell are you crying for ???????? Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, fell sorry for those whom have so much less......and PRAY for them !!!! You would be surprised how much better you would feel about yourself and your circumstances. Give it up, give it to GOD, and PRAY !

Sometimes we just get down. Worn down. Especially when ill we are a bit raw. Let’s be supportive (not enabling) and encourage vs a call to be stronger when are sick and can’t be.

Oh Glenda I feel for you so much. I do think we tend to get down mentally when our physical selves aren’t well. I can get into a deep depression when I’m not feeling good. And I know all of our problems, situations and pasts in life are different, but please know we sympathize with you and are praying you have better tomorrows. ❤

This reminds me of what I was just thinking about single seniors. People don’t realize how hard some things are. I think the biggest thing is when you are sick. A phone call is nice. But do people call every day? Most don’t. It’s hard to cook when you are sick. We need more than a one time dish drop off. This is why ill seniors end up hospitalized-they stop eating because they can’t cook. Glad to see Glenda was able to fill the crockpot. We need to PRIORITIZE our seniors. They won’t complain so please just help them.
    Hugs Glenda…

one half to 2/3 mug of hot water, add one tablespoon of honey, and one to two tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix well & sip on while still quite warm until gone. (microwave if you need to, to sip while it's very warm) Definitely helps to sooth throat and stop coughing, or slow it down a lot. [[I grew up with this "concoction" & it is a gem!!]] ♡

I worked at a mine and 1400 men were all coughing and the medics had run out of all meds they could give for the cough. One guy remembered his grandma's remedy for coughs honey, warm water and lemon juice! That mixture was what got us through a tough two weeks.

Living alone with a sustained illness gets scary the longer the illness does not subside, Glenda. Too much alone time feeling poorly makes the mind wander...The What if this? Or, What if that? happens. We've all been there in one way or another, dear one! I know I have!!!
Right now, you have a very impaired immune system, whatever the diagnosis is, your immune system is waivering, and that needs to be medically addressed...and, it will be. When you get the correct diagnosis and treatment plan, all the negativity, regrets and wondering about what could have been will subside...It's just plain hard to be sick for as long as you have been. The tide will turn...

Glenda I hope you feel better soon. I know you have been dealing with this for a long time off and on. Then depression creeps in. I can certainly understand that. I think as we get older we just automatically start reminiscing about the past and what we could have done differently. I know I have been lately. All of a sudden a person I hadn’t thought about for a long time or an event just pops into my head now. My three daughters have their own families and love us, but we never want to be a burden to them. They love us, but they don’t want to take care of an old man and woman. I don’t want them too. Plus they work hard to shelter and feed their families. I don’t want them to spend their money on us. That’s not fair. I’ve worked in a few assisted living jobs and with Alzheimers units. No thank you. I’ve seen how some CNAs treat those seniors. Just rude and have no time for them. I know there’s lots of good ones too. But that life is not what I want. You give up all of your familiar things to live there. No thanks. I’ll just let the good Lord handle it for me. In his time.

We all have made mistakes in man’s eyes, one might seem greater than the other, but if we’ve seen in God‘s eyes, it’s all the same so we’re all equal.

We are on our third week of the virus. It is getting better but the cough persists. Hubby had blood in the whites of his eyes from coughing so hard. Drink lots of fluids. Take hour multi bit and an elderberry gummy. Try to eat well. We made simple noodle soup, jello, and veggie soup. Take care. .

@@glendasully you too, Glenda, I didn't find out what this really was but it took a good 3 weeks and I am weak from it still. The dr said it was a virus. Did you take a covid test at any point ? He told me i took my tests "too early" and told me to take one after four or five days....however, i did not bother to do that....i just don't know why but i figured i would slowly get better. I used hot water, or tea, with honey and lemon. Get some fresh air, it helps. Also you need to rest a lot.

Should’ve would’ve, but the past is the past. You made decisions not only for you, but for your children’s happiness and wellbeing. You were a wonderful mother!! You did the best you could. I like the way you set the camera up, on a distance tripod, as this morning I got up, I and swept the soil from the plants that the cats had scattered all over the living room floor while I slept (I'm cat sitting at my son's place in piacenza). As I was rather naked while I did it, and hadn't taken my shower yet... thankfully, no cameras running there. (Sorry, but I thought I'd make you laugh, listen have Jill get that AlicinC for you to take, it'll make a world of difference, and see your doctor.) ❤️

The best way to overcome regrets is to quit repeating the things that cause those regrets. There are videos on youtube showing how to make your money last all month. Frugal Fit Mom in a great one. It won't include luxuries like take out food, take out coffee, lots of snacks and high priced meats, but the take out things are totally unnecessary and bad for us anyway. Things are likely to get worse before they get better. Now is the time for you to buckle down and make smarter choices, for your own well- being. Only YOU can change you.

71 and single here living off of Social Security. We have all felt like you feel. Is there an answer for this? I don't know. I do know though that you are getting through every month. You are making it and a SS payment will come soon which will ease some of the pressure you're feel right now. Do your best ability place your focus on what you have and not what you want or you don't have. It is especially hard to go through times like these in the winter when the days are gray and you feel horrible and it just takes forever for another 24 hours to pass by. I spend 20 hours of every day in bed so I do know what I'm talking about. As to your health, you do probably need to see a doctor again. I would probably see my reg doctor that I like and press this upon him… You need a breakthrough relief prescription. Sometimes all that is over-the-counter drugs. You are strong enough to deal with, your life as it is now but it is especially hard because you are compromised by illness. Can you go to the library and maybe find a couple books on growing vegetables indoors? Also, you can regrow a lot of vegetables from the vegetables you bring home from the grocery store, such as onions and celery, from the tops etc. I suggest this because one always feels better when times are hard if we're doing something positive as opposed to just trying to hold on tightly. It's super hard to be alone and be tight on money and have food deprivation scares while still staying positive and upbeat. Boy that is hard. All that said a hundred percent I know that you've got what it takes to do that. In order to move forward you need a boost in your healthcare. It's not happening the way it is now and it's dragging you down and destroying all your dreams of doing better. That doesn't make you special that just makes you normal. You are going through a hard time that anyone normal would struggle with. If you ask your daughter, for anything, ask her if she would pay for you to go to the doctor as a loan. Then you can pay her back once a month over three months or something like that. Will that be hard on her financially? Maybe. Could be. But I know 100% she will want to help you out. She's a good daughter to you. You need just a pinch of help and a little extra care and then something to concentrate on that is about going forward instead of holding on to the backwards slide. Sending you a lot of love. Maybe a theme you could pick up now and then would be how to stretch a little bit of food into a big pot of something or other. Certainly, our grandmothers knew those recipes. Sending you a lot of love, dear friends. You are very strong woman and I believe in you. Don't forget that the Bible says you have not because you ask not so stay tuned in there and ask and ask and ask for what you need not in big sweeps, but in little tiny things that you need and watch Jesus show up. Get to the doctor ASAP. I'll be watching the channel and praying for your recovery.

I made a lot of mistakes also . My ex was in the Navy and he was very abusive . So I live on SS also . I feel like I should have put up with it . Because he is doing much better than me . Glenda have you applied for his SS . If you were married for more than 10 years and even though you are divorced and he is remarried doesn’t matter. You are eligible to get his SS instead of your own if his SS was more even if he was remarried. Call SS and inquire about it . Doesn’t hurt to ask . Also I believe you should go get rechecked. You are not getting any better.

But God, in His mercy, always let's me know I'm loved despite all of my mistakes and sins. You don't know it, but you are a good friend of mine. You really help with the loneliness. Glenda i would give anything to have my mother she passed dec 3rd 2023, i wanted her to come and live with me and hubby, i wanted to have her here with me in texas, i would do all the cooking but it did not work out that she would come to texas. She was living in a condo in virginia. She was 97 and the best mom. I am sorry you have to live on your own,
I lived in texas while momma was in va. I so did not like she was alone, i called her 6 times daily. Jill i know has her family but you need help being sick and needing money. My mom did not want to intrude with me and hubby. But i so wanted her to live here so i could take care of her, she was of sound mind, listen consider for jill to possible have a home nurse to come and help you while your sick that can cook and just help around your place, call a place for momma, that is the name of an agency to help you. Jill can see how much it would be so you can still live in. Your home. This is dixie from texas. You are very sickly and it has been going to long. Just sayin.

    Oh lord Glenda,
It sounds like we have a lot in common. I am 63. Almost 64 my bday is in a few weeks. I too am divorced and disabled. My ssi check is only 943.00 a month and I get 152.00 in foodstamps a month.
And I could really use make this work if I could find a way to make 300. a month income.. but Being on assistance I have always been told to report any other income to the social security office and to the foodstamp office.
And I get help on my rent. I have a 2 bedroom apt because I qualify for a live in care taker. I have been on a walker since 2017. From a failed back surgery. And I am on oxygen 24-7. Copd stage 4.
Are you on oxygen? It sounded like you have an upper respiratory problem? I hope you feel better soon!!!!
I live on the gulf coast. In MS. And I have a daughter and grandchildren in Louisiana. I am thinking about transferring my housing over to Louisiana and let my daughter help me to find a home or apt. They have some really nice apartments for ppl our age and for our pocketbooks. Somebody recently told me that the government can see our PayPal , cash app, chimes, Zelle all of those… and Just be careful and mindful. I would hate it if you got cut off because of a donation. Do you mind explaining how TH-cam works? How long does it take to get a check from yt? I am super interested!!! If I could work I sure would!!! I would love to go volunteer even.. but nobody wants to look at a disabled crippled old woman.. I don’t drive anymore because I can’t afford to. Not with insurance every month… so I walk to the Walmart near my apt. Because the Walmart grocery delivery is charging for the weight sometimes, and I just don’t have it. So on my walker and with my oxygen I still get out and walk over to Walmart and walk back home. I sure do understand times are hard. They were worse when I was with my ex husband. He was a severe alcoholic and I’m sure you already know how horrible that was. It sounds like you too were married to one of those. And I have suffered thru the loss of my child my only son when he was 17.
I will be following you Glenda. If you live nearby I would love to meet you. Do you ever go play bingo? I don’t. But I think I’m going to go try that soon. I too could really use a lil extra every month. Take care of yourself 🌺🌺🌺

I encourage you to watch videos on how to start a YT channel. The videos will show you how. It's super easy but you'll need a smartphone or camera to record on & a laptop or access to a computer to set up your account. I started my channel in Oct. 2017 & got my first check in Dec. 2018.

Worry about what happens in the future. What’s happening right now.
Maybe when you start feeling better and the weather warms up, you and Jill and the kids and hubby can go on a picnic to a park somewhere or to a museum or somewhere just to get out for the day. It will lift your spirits. Never say never.
I’m sure she loves to get out with the kids as much as you would.

I am not familiar with your entire situation but I was confused as to why your rent takes most of your Social Security check? Most senior apartments use 30% of your gross income. Is it different where your live? Could you get subsidized rent? Maybe you already have. I hope that you are feeling better!

The North Hempstead Housing Authority built these units with a special Tax Exempt grant from HUD. They are not part of HUD Section 8 housing (33% of income). The rent is based on the Area Median Income for this area of Long Island, NY. My rent is approximately 1/2 of my income.
