Watch out brotha man, on higher difficulties he will Gospel for the slightest deviation, and you will run out of time :D I killed him an absolute shit ton on all difficulties to get my Sacro Breastplate.
I was extremely lucky so never needed to try D and VD (will try one day just for fun though). Got Sacro Breastplate on a 2nd run and Bulwark on the 5th, if I remember correctly.
