My grandmother was Spanish and grew up in Spain & France; she always told me that unless I was trying to look like a gypsy, to go very light on the jewelry. And under no circumstances are you ever dressed without earrings. Her everyday look was always a set of pearl earrings❤️

Good tips but not everyone looks good in dainty jewelry. I find it works best and most harmonious with thinner women; delicate chains for finer bone structure. For my features, delicate small necklaces and discreet earrings look completely wrong, like I stole them from another woman's jewelry set. I need some boldness and thickness and 'presence' in every piece. But in general, less is more.
I disagree, I know many woman that wear a lot of jewellery but they can match it well and it fits their style - it feels like without that much they won’t be themselves. So I believe it is very personal and everybody is different and different things fit them.
She is mostly speaking of French women. One would be pressed to see a French woman collapsing under tons of jewelry. So she is right. That said she’s not telling people not to do it. She is simply saying that to most French women, it’s not a thing.
