I'm worksop born and bred and looking back at it when I was a kid in the 1970s to what it has become now really saddens me, it was a bustling busy town now it's a shell of what it was back then.

I had a Saturday job on Worksop market, working for Ken's fruit and veg stall. I started in 1964 until 1968. The market was always very busy on a Saturday and had a wide range of stalls.

Brilliant, some nostalgia there. Sad all those buildings have gone and the market was great when at the top of Bridge St, killed it putting on the pedestrian way, mind you killed Worksop when the road went down Bridge Street.

This is just the evidence of the way that Bassetlaw District Council have ruined the lovely town that was once Worksop.

Worksop had some good buildings in early 70's, demolished to make way for rubbish which stayed empty for years. Now they are either demolishing again! or trying to refurbish to encourage new tenants. Good luck with that! Until council try to encourage local, not a chance.
