8:30 Cleaning dirty contacts saved me a $450 dollar repair. Thank you so much for the tips.
Awesome!!
Thank you so much for your advise and direction, my husband passed away 2 years ago and without your videos I don’t know what I would do. Thank you so very much from my family to yours and keep up the great work. You are truly Blessed.
I'm so glad I could help! Good job!! 🙏
Thank you so much! My sister and I fixed my machine following your excellent instructions! God bless you!
You saved me a Service Call at 6:37 ! I had our machine entirely apart to add sound deadening (yes, it works really well), and through lack of recall, replaced that clear "level-sensing" hose on the clear plastic tube inside the lid. Because I thought the local electronics (with the film of corrosion) were involved. Cleared the code and the cycle runs like it should. Have a beer on me... Thanks, -A
Yay! Thanks glad it worked for you!!! Good job!
This fixed it perfectly! Saved me at least $250 for a repairman. 🎉
Awesome!
Wow! You save my family some mega bucks. This did the trick! Thank you sooooo much! And yes I did it not my husband. Simple enough. Now I need to get the acrylic! Thank you once again!
I saw similar buildup on the circuit board where the contact is on mine. Cleaning with alcohol immediately allowed me to power it back on and resolved the problem. Thank you!
I shared this video with Maytag. I have this machine and it's throwing the E1, F3 code about once a month. I've got a guy coming out today. I have Home Service Plus through Center Point. They've been out 5 times for this. I am very upset with Maytag. I had a Maytag for 29 years with no problems. This Bravos XL is a lemon because of the problems you described. Thanks for the video. It all makes sense now!
How'd you fix this code error
please answer
Follow the video instructions

Josh, thanks for the video. I was just about ready to give up on this washer. I recently put a gear case in it and now had this F6 E2 error. Hopefully this fix will last.
Thank you so much! I just fixed mine following your video and you saved my laundry day and us lots of money 🙏☺️
Thanks!
THANKS! 😁
Thank you so much for the video and our issue is resolved. You saved us so much money!!!
Friend you just saved me a new washing machine. Thank You!
thanks so much for this great video lesson, very helpful tips, this will save me good amount of money on the repair, thank you.
This follow up really helped. You added a cpl of other techniques like taking the back off to get to the boards. That was the only pain was trying to push on the keepers to get it to pop up. So thanks again. I’m no washer repair man but your video saved me a few bucks so I appreciate it.
Can I ask you what kind of camera you use to do this vid? I’m thinking it was a cell phone.
It looked great whatever it was.
Thanks!! Yes I used an iPhone 13 Pro!
Maytag bravos XL washer is showing the f6 and the e2 so thank you for the tip
👍👍
I followed the instructions and cleaned the circuit board with rubbing alcohol and put it back today and it works like it did the first day I got it
@FosterBetts yay!! Good job glad it helped!!
Thanks for this video! I NEED HELP! My Maytag bravos throws the codes F7e3
F7e9
F7e0
F3e2. I've put in 2 mother boards same thing! I hear a spark when I plug it in and when I unplug it, it stays on for about 10 seconds.... I'm lost! Any suggestions. I plug other things into the outlet and no sparks. Any help will save my marriage!!! 😊
You are the man! It worked!
Thank you! Cleaning the board with alcohol worked for me. The codes are gone now.
Do you have the f6 e3 code repair for the dryer?
Mine is cutting off about halfway thru the cycle and the codes are F2E1...would doing this possibly help with those codes too?🙏
Does anyone know how to delete codes .
When you put it into diagnostic mode with the 3 buttons the bottom button gives the error codes. Hold that 3rd button down for some seconds to clear the code.
Just got in a 2015ish? Whirlpool Cabrio that throws the e1 f3 error code with the pump running nonstop soon as you plug it in. Hopeing this and a trap clean out fixes it when i get a chance to work on it tomorrow.
Try holding the power button for 20 seconds.
@@joshcobb4100 didn't try that, but the board did have some Corrosion on the back as you pointed out in the video.sadly cleaning didn't change anything.
When i press the power button it goes off and turns right back on by itself with the error and pump running.
I thought maybe it had a cleanout that was clogged, unfortunately it doesn't. Im pretty sure there is some water in the tub,so i pulled all the drain hoses from the tub to the pump and from the pump out the back expecting water to come out but none did.
Onlything i can think of is there might be a Clog in the outter tub thats not allowing it to drain?? Just waiting on the spanner Wrench to come so i can take the inner tub out.
@@joshcobb4100 After tinkering with it a bit more i found something interesting that may help someone else.
On mine the control panel would turn on and flash the error codes along with the drain pump running constantly soon as it was plugged into the wall.
Holding the power button did nothing.
Taping the power button would turn the panel off for a moment only to have it turn itself back on with the errors and pump running.
After unplugging it from the wall i noticed that the panel would stay on for about 30secs or so.i happened to hit the power button during this time and the panel turned off.i plugged the washer back into the wall and this time the panel stayed off with no pump running which now allows me to get into Diagnostic mode.
Now even after unplugging and plugging it back up the washer seems to act normal.
I still have the error code that i gotta figure out now of course, but atleast its a result. Now i gotta put it all back together for further testing.
Let us know what you come up with! Working on Appliances is sometimes like being a detective LOL no joke process of elimination!
@@joshcobb4100 so far the tub won't spin but the wash plate does. If i manually spin the tub i hear a grinding kinda sound.
Was thinking maybe the tub or the gearcase had stripped out,but after studying a bit more it might be the clutch.. do you know how to test one of these clutches with a multimeter?
Thanks for the info. Working great now.
Awesome! Good deal!
Hi there I have the exact machine I get F3 E2 what can I do to fix it myself I appreciate your help thanks
You could try this fix, beyond that I’m not sure.
Thanks! see my comment from 9/9/2023.
Thank you for the video. I hate this washer.
Finally figured out how to put it into diagnostics mode the error code it gave me was f7 e5 do I have to replace the shifter
Hello I have this exact same dryer and it’s throwing a error code for AF snd I can’t fix it. Can you help?
My videos about a washer, but the problem you're experiencing is restricted airflow. You need to clean out the ventilation system behind your dryer.
Could corrosion be cleaned off with a little baking soda and water? That's how I get corrosion off of a car battery terminal & it works like a charm.
I must say that your video is the closest thing to a solution I have found in the last few months however.
My wife and I bought the Braves xl set brand new 3 years ago when we built our house. Tonight fir the first time we are having problems with the washer. It turns on, but won't let us select or start anything. The normal light flashes, cycle time reads 52 minutes, and every button makes a sound when we press it, but does not do anything. I can't figure out what's wrong with it. We have not gotten any error codes yet.
I was watching your video and I have a repair question I have a (maytag bravo xl) and when I turn on the washer it goes from sensing to wash back to senseing back to was multiple times than it shuts off it doesnt add water to the washer and I cant get it to go into diagnostics mode to see what the code is please help.
Did you follow the video instructions?
I’m having the exact problem. Watched the video multiple times but still can’t figure it out.
Try holding the power button in for 20 seconds. Then retry diagnostics mode
What if I have this code but on my Maytag Dryer front load new commercial technology dryer. E2 F6
My dryer has the same code after a bad storm/power outage 🥴
Hey Josh I have a Maytag MHW8630HW0 washer which displays F3E1 constantly, I have replaced the pressure sensor, cleaned the filter, checked everywhere and even turned off the circuit breaker for like 2days just to reset the washer which works for some couple of loads and some times it doesn't before the error code F3E1 pops up again. Am really frustrated with it and service technicians that came said it's probably from Control Board or Control Panel which am reluctant to replace which might not be the problem. Am currently thinking about buying a whole new washer right now but any ideas or help from you would be appreciated asap thanks. Keep up with your good videos.
Did you try the cleaning trick from my video?
All I can say is thank you thank. God send.
Just glad I could help!
Awesome vid upload bro!!
Hey I have a Maytag Bravos XL, everything works fine but I have error codes F3, E2 and for some reason my sensing light with about 3 other lights continuously remain on even when not in use, how can I get these lights off? That’s how I found the error codes because I was trying to find out how to turn these lights off. Thanks man if you have time, and if you don’t have time, that’s fine too have a good one
This code means that your hot and cold water lines are reversed. Check to be sure that you have the cold hose going to the cold inlet and the hot going to the hot. Then hold your power button down for 20 seconds to reset.
@@joshcobb4100 thank ya
I have a Bravos X that switches to spin mode with 13 minutes left in normal wash but will not do anything at that point. Im thinking actuator but not 100% . Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Check for loose wires all around the bottom and see if any are snapped or broken. Sometimes when the machines go off balance they can pull stuff apart underneath.
Do you happen to have a old junker "gearcase" laying around out of a washer like whats in this video?
I don’t
On your first video with washing machine water inlet I couldn’t find the one that’s for Maytag. Will the Whirlpool and Kenmore part work? It looks the same
Probably if it looks the same…I’d take your washer model number and try to lookup the part on appliance parts pros . Com. Use the manufacturer part number to search on Amazon. Good luck!
@@joshcobb4100 ok thanks I appreciate your help. I bought the same washer at Lowe’s for $80 a customer returned it and Lowe’s hired a “Pro” supposable to fix it and I guess they couldn’t figure it out what was wrong with it so they marked it down to get rid of it. Thanks to your video it sounds like a easy fix thanks again 👍🏼
Great Video Buddy!
Same washer here, different error code. Is there a way to clear the code? TIA
Yep. Service manual is inside the machine stuck to the wall….front left top corner.
Awesome video thank you😊
I was sooo optimistic about your video. I used air pressure as recommended in the tube but it caused a major water leak underneath the machine. I may have blown off the tube at the other hand What am i to do to fix that???
It's also possible water overflowed over the drum and thus leaked from the top of the drum to underneath the machine but i am not certain. All i know is i did not have issues with water leaks until i blew through the sensor tube with my air pressure tank.
You might have blown the tube off the other end of the tub especially if there's a clog down there from build up. You can tilt your machine back and reach up along the back right side of the tub and you should be able to feel where that tube plugs into the side of the tub. Otherwise you're right it could have overflown over the top, which would also indicate a clog at the bottom, it not knowing how full it is.
@@joshcobb4100 thanks for the quick answer. I have noticed that when i blow with my mouth in the tube, there is resistance. It is as though air dow not flow freely like through a straw. It feels plugged. Is that normal?
As for the water leakage the tube is well plugged into the tank on the side. I believe the leakage is due to me pulling the machine away from the wall and possibly disturbing the drain pipe but then I will need to run the machine again with the back panel off to see if it happens again and where.
You should be able to hear the air coming out from inside the washer or at least bubbles. If You can't blow through it and you don't hear anything then it is clogged.
HI - I have done everything every video asked to no avail. Still a door lock code. I have a new control board. Still same problem. Any ideas?
Did you replace the lid lock and striker?
@@joshcobb4100 I did
Is the board actually new or did you buy a used one?
New
@Josh Cobb new...stupid crazy
Not sure if this is the right place to add this comment. I have watched soooo many videos and your video is by far the best one however, I am getting EVERY error code. I have replaced door lock and I can get it to start IF I Clear error codes and push start real fast before the beeping but cannot change cycles at all. I have followed everything in your video. Washed 2 loads now and now it has stopped after rinse, drain, but won’t spin out! I also can’t get front panel over those clips. Do I need them on there if panel is screwed down. I sure hope you can help. Don’t know how to get your response either so…I will keep watching comments
Would this stop the washer mid cycle ?
Our is stopping mid cycle and we have a f0e3 code. Gonna try to fix and if I do ill post the solution.
Yes it can. But so can a clogged pump, bad shifter selector, lid lock or worn out agitator plate.
Mine isn't turning over at all it is just beeping when I press buttons and when it was writing the clothes were staying soaked I remember seeing the f6 e3 code but now it doesn't show anything
Is there a way to just pull codes? ours is just turning on and beeping when we hit any button. Already cleaned the electrical underneath the panel on the board
I just had this issue yesterday. I replaced the lid lock switch and it came back to life! It would sit on :55 and not allow me to do anything before the repair. Hope that helps!
@@joshcobb4100 where did you get the lid lock switch
Help. My Bravo XL is showing error code E1 F3 and won't finish the rinse & spin. It will then drain even without water. Was afraid that it was going to burn out the pump. Checked the pump & hose. Looked fine. Tried to reset the unit by unplugging it from the power source, waited 20 minutes before plugging it back in turned the dial through all the settings counter clockwise, picked a setting, ran it, did fine, stopped the error code until it neared the end of the cycle and started giving me the same error code and constant draining. The unit does not continue filling with water. It simply continues running the water pump until the washer is physically unplugged. Pressing the power button alone does not stop the water pump from constant draining.
This is probably going to indicate that the whole board needs to be replaced. That's an error code (googled it) that means the washer can't tell what the water level is. So likely continuing to drain because it thinks it's still full of water. However, I have taken these consoles apart and found more corrosion all over the back of a couple of boards that just couldn't be saved. It's best to have a professonal some check it out for the more advanced issues, but my money would be on a whole new control board, unfortunately.
My whirlpool washer is giving the same e1 f3 code. Drain pump runs consistently and have to unplug the power. Cleaned all the hoses and pump filter. Even replaced the pressure switch sensor but still the same issue. Some days it works fine for 5-6 wash loads then some days like today it stops on the first drain and spin cycle. 😩
@@justinhouston2789 My husband checked the pump/drain and found a bobby pin that was keeping the drain open. We couldn't find a way to remove the bobby pin so we used a strong magnet to affix to the bottom of the wash tub as far away from the drain as possible. We also had water in the hose that attaches to the water pressure switch sensor. We blew the water out of this hose and cleaned the back panel, which was not corroded or messy at all. It works fine now. I hope it stays that way. Hope this helps.
i have to replace the water inlet valve for it to work after replace the water sensor and the air tube.
@@CaffeinatedChrista I replaced the pressure switch and cleaned the air line. Also cleaned out the filter and pump but still didn't work. I got frustrated and slammed washer around the laundry room and what do you know! It's been working fine since my last comment.lol I guess it just needed some rough love!lol
Awesome video. Thanks for saving me a couple hundred dollars
You bet!!
Wow. Sure wish my husband was the type to be able to do this. It’s probably going to cost me a fortune to have someone come in for this stupid error code.
What code f5 like it just start doing this it lock and start and spins then cut off
I am having an issue with the machine just stops. No codes just stops and unlocks?? Have to hit the start button like 10 times during a cycle.
My machine is super loud when it is spinning. And it it only fills with half a tub of water on every wash except bedding, Also throws a F5 code HELP!!!
If your going to show a “how to” video then show everything. It’s so frustrating when you all skip over things. Don’t assume everyone knows exactly everything you do.
Noted. Thanks for the tip!
That has a bearing noise
E5f1 ???
Door won’t lock to start
Probably a bad lid lock. Although unplugging and holding the power button for 20 seconds is worth a try!!!
@@joshcobb4100 thanks so much it became a thorn in my side and niece gifted me a new one to arrive next week 🤗🤗🤗she loves her aunt!!!
Keeping you safe. Gonna put you down as fav technician for answering, most don’t.
