Josh, after watching your video you saved me whatever the amount of money it would cost in 2024. Your explanation and processes worked perfectly. Thanks a million.
This technique worked for my F6-E2/3 error on my 4 year old Cabrio washer. Thanks for saving me a pricey repair job (or the cost of a new washer) and not trashing an entire large appliance over a tiny bit of corrosion!
Wow! What a fix. So easy and it worked. First, I tried unplugging the machine a few times to see if it would reset. I got all the things you mentioned, wouldn't light up, looks like it going to work, but doesn't. Then the last time the error code popped up. So, I looked up the error code and found you. After I did the fix, I put it back together, but I was so excited I forgot the nail polish. So, I opened it back up and applied the nail polish. Good to go! Thanks again for the savings. Whirlpool needs to apply the nail polish as part of their manufacturing process.
We had an E2/F6 error on a cabrio washer. We cleaned with rubbing alcohol and q-tip and the first test run was a success! Hopefully more to come so thank you for this video!
This just saved our lives! Family of five so we can’t be without a washer and ours completely stopped in the middle of a cycle. Took all of your advice and followed this video step by step and it’s perfect now! Thank you sir!
You just saved me $500. I don't have any money to give you as a thank you, so please allow me to pray for you and your business, and know that God will bless you seven times over for every time you help someone like me, keep their household running on a very tight budget.
We just drove two hours to rural Nebraska and two hours back and paid $300 to buy a used Whirlpool Cabrio, same model as this one, to match our current dryer because our washer was throwing the dreaded F6 E2 error code. THEN after I got home and swapped the machines, I did one more TH-cam search just for kicks and found this video. I just cleaned the contacts on the dead machine we had moved to the garage to take to the landfill. RATS!!! A Q-tip and a little alcohol and the dead machine works perfectly. At one point we even had a repair guy come in and he told us we needed a new $500 control board. Thank you so much for posting this -- and now we have a spare washer that we don't need. I feel like I should send you a check for something. THANK YOU!
Thank you Josh! I never comment on TH-cam, but I wanted to tell you that this is the best video on here. When we plugged our machine and turned it on and we got beeps and no more error codes, and it didn’t turn off halfway through the cycle, I think I almost cried. You’re the best!
Amazing. Thanks so much for sharing these instructions. I followed this step by step, did not have any rubbing alcohol, and just used a wet q-tip to clean the board. I followed up with a dry q-tip, and the washer was working again right away. Entire repair took me about 20 minutes.
So I’m a licensed nail technician, and I happened to have all these tools that were needed, it took me 5 mins after watching your video and I just ran a bleach towels load, THANKS SO MUCH IT WORKED!!!!!! Followed your visuals from start to finish, forever fan now!
2024. Just tried this on my 4-6 year old Whirlpool cabrio. Only issue I had was unclipping the left side of the panel. But after I got it unclipped and cleaned the metal pieces, everything worked like it should. Thanks a lot!
Josh, great video. Living in Mexico it can hard if not impossible to get parts or to get parts within a reasonable time. My Cabrio is now working perfectly. Can't thank you enough.
Thank you so much for this! This fix saved us from another service call and how we've replaced one circuit board previously which cost us $400. Was able to do this in less than an hour and only cost me 2 Q-tips! Definitely try this fixe before you call a service company!
Dude, you rock! Thank you so much for this awesome video My son and I just fixed our washing machine. It broke down in the middle of a cycle and we had no idea what to do until we found your video. About an hour later it's working and I know with the fingernail polish it will continue to work and not corrode again. We thank YWHW for you and we hope that you and your business are blessed. 😊
I put off fixing my washer after a few google searches and seeing it as a $250 plus repair just for parts. Did a search today and came across this video and glad I did. This worked me for thank you so much for posting videos like these.
This is amazing! My washer has been acting up for months and it finally bit the dust and would just show the error code F6 E2. I was able to fix this myself (and I am NOT handy!), thanks to this video!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this! My washer was unresponsive to any push of any button. I did this easy fix (after getting that code) and it WORKED!!
Wow, a great video and the best fix I've seen. It absolutely worked and its crazy that such a small thing, almost too small to see, was the problem. Thanks so much, those of us who still like to repair things sincerely appreciate your effort's.
Thank you! I came home from vacation, and it wouldn't turn on at all. After checking the breaker and outlet, I watched your video. I cleaned the area under the buttons and it worked! I haven't done the nail polish part yet, but I will soon. Thank you so much!
I touched the Q-Tip to those terminals and it instantly fixed it. My tabs were in a spot that were harder to get to, to release the screen but otherwise was so simple. Thank you!
Hey man great video. For the ones that failed to work. The problem was more than likely a buckled board because of all those plastic pegs. Ya gotta bust off the white housing and break some of the pegs off that are buckling the board making it a tight fit. Once you get the board sitting flat against the screen I used some gorilla tape to hold it down tight then put the white cover back on. Since you brake the pegs when you take it off you need to get it held back tight so that that touch board gets touched. I used a wash cloth to go on top of the white housing then screwed it back down. Touch screen works great now. Fix the corrosion and the buckled boards and it’ll work out. Thx for the vid 🙏
OMG I think this fixed mine, too! I didn't think mine looked corroded, but I took it apart like you showed and cleaned the contacts with alcohol. Plugged it back in and I'm doing a load of laundry now. Fingers crossed. Thank you so much!
This is amazing! Had this error pop up previous 2 years and just fixed itself somehow but this time it didn’t. Tech was saying need replaced. Legit did this in 5 minutes and it is fixed! You are awesome!
My Whirlpool Cabrio washer with the Steam Clean option is working again thanks to this “How To” video. I can only imagine how much $$$ and down time you saved me. I did have to buy the nail polish 😁, but a couple dollars is literally a small price to pay versus a professional repair or a new washer. THANK YOU Josh!! 👍👍
I just did this and it freaking worked, saved me a bunch of money by not having someone come look at it. I feel like I need to send you some $$$. Thank you very much and I subscribed to your channel
THANK YOU SO MUCH for a very clear video... I followed your instructions and even applied the nail polish to the electrical connectors as suggested and were able to power up my washer after 1 hour.
Thank you!! I replaced the board a few years ago because of this error and it just happened again. I found your video and had it fixed in no time. Hopefully this stays fixed now!! I really wish I would have known about this a few years ago; I'm sure I wouldn't have had to replace it then!
Thank you,,,The build up was actually under the speaker. Even though you did not specifically show to go there I knew what I was looking for. There were 2 that were not bad but covered in enough black build up that it stopped the washer from working.Cleaned with the q-tip and alcohol and she fired right up . I can't tell you have thankful I am and wonder how many of the washers were needlessly tossed. I called a service repairman before I did this research and he said nothing I could do, just buy a new washer...SMH.
I have a Cabrio just like this one, 11 or 12 years old. Had the F and E codes, but early symptoms were: no more sounds and delayed response time when selecting washes. Also, sometimes it would keep washing without the time winding down. I cleaned the contacts, as noted in this video, and nothing changed. I decided to make sure I cleaned them as well as I could, so I took the control panel completely off (thanks for the disassembly tips). I sat at the kitchen table with a magnifying headset with light and cleaned better. However, I took what I think was the speaker/buzzer assembly off. It is a black square right there on the panel with two screws. There were other contacts back there that were corroded. I cleaned those and reassembled the washer. Plugged it in and turned it on. When I heard the tones again, I knew I had it fixed. It works like a champ, and I don't have to spend $700 on a new one (YET). The video is awesome and spot on. Josh, thanks for publishing this. You rock!👍
Thank you so much. I followed your instructions and it works again! I didn't take the whole top off, just unscrewed the back panel and popped off the censor. Cleaned up a little corrosion and it works!
Thanks for the info! It worked for me! However, I did waste a bunch of time (and frustration) trying to figure out how to release that top control unit panel from the main washer. The video was not clear on what to use the plyers on to release. I eventually figured it out on my own. My constructive criticism would be to never do a video on how to disassemble something (to again access) without the setup being fully ready to be disassembled. i.e. Don't already have some things disassembled ahead of time, because that is likely not how it will be for the ppl watching the video and so it will create some confusion. Again, thank you for taking the time to do this! Saved me $$$!
So - I got the F6-E3 error and found another video explaining what to do. Bad news - I didn't really dig in to it until AFTER having a useless technician come out, charge me $150 - only to tell me that I needed to replace the washer. He said that they would send it away to have the UI panel repaired and by that time - I may as well buy a new one. I wish I would have found and watched your video first - because you said that exact thing - like what the technician would say! Anyway - I watched another video which was really good at showing me how to take the unit apart - which I can do very quickly now - but that video only had me wiping off the board contacts with an alcohol pad to clean them. Your video here - actually had the suggestion to scrape away the corrosion - THEN clean thoroughly with the alcohol and Q-Tips. Because after my first attempt at repair - with just the simple wipe down with the small alcohol pads - the error and issue came back after 3 loads of laundry. I feel confident that the more thorough scraping and cleaning (the Q-Tips were black this time) will net better results. I do have a question, Josh - you mention that the issue will eventually come back - I didn't apply the gel coat (great hack by the way!) - since the machine worked for many years without issue (6-8 maybe) do you feel like the board is compromised now and that sooner rather than later, I will need to clean again and for sure seal it - or will I get several years again before that much corrosion causes issues? Sorry for the long message - but I had to vent about the bummer of losing $150 but of the victory in saving several hundred in the long run! Great video!
I would suggest getting a clearcoat on it ASAP, I use clear nail polish now. It’s more susceptible now to corrosion and the more you scrape it the more brittle the connections will become.
Thank you so, so much! My machine stopped working out of the blue and I was panicking. Followed your instructions and it started right back up. Keep doing what you're doing! It truly helps!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. It fixed my washer. The only thing I added was to tape the lid shut so when I flipped up the top there was no danger of the glass lid coming off.
I'm getting an intermittent F6/E3, it'll start making unfamiliar alert noises, blink these codes, then not allow any button responses except to power it off. After I power it back up it works fine for weeks with no problem. I'll definitely be investigating the board though, I'll nip it in the bud before it decides it won't allow for a power cycle fix. I've owned this washer for 10 years, it's served me well and is still in great shape otherwise.
Great video. I’m curious if you used the gel clear nail polish did you cure it like they do for gel manicures? Or can you just use regular clear nail polish as well.
Hi Josh, thanks for your videos, they are very helpful. I have the same washer "Cabrio" and am getting a code F2 E3 and cannot find any videos on this code combo, any suggestions? Thanks
This worked for me. Awesome detailed instructions that made it easy for a complete amateur. I’m pleased to have saved a ton of time and money with your helpful video. Thank you!
Great video! If you have this issue, the best chemical to clean with is Deoxit-D5 and q-tip/swab. Then apply a thin layer of conformal coat to seal out future moisture. This is what is done for mil-spec electronics that need to perform in high humidity environments. Easy to find both on Amazon, etc.
Fixed thank you! Would you have a guide for that same model dryer, how to remove the blower fan? Didnt find it in the back and no removable panel in front.
Thanks reset didn't work so I tried this and went through once so far. So I'm happy it worked. I'll add to comment whenever it goes wrong if it does. Wish it was a step by step instead of you already removed bit. But it did make the video fast so works for me, I didn't know the clamp I had to use the pliers was metal kept messing with the white plastic lol hope this tip helps the next fool.
Thanks, after various problems with the buttons, I figured there was a loose wire, but found nothing. Then I found your video after doing the diagnostic codes, and seeing E2 F6. I used to work in computers, and was curious if the moisture is causing a short circuit on the board? (I wish they made these better!)
It worked, had to create an angled file from a flat file, and my clear nail Polish had a violent tint… BLUF, thank you so much . PS could they make it any harder to access the electronics? 😤
I can't believe that worked. I appreciate it so much
I’m glad it worked for you, thanks so much for the appreciation and the Venmo gift! It goes a long way towards helping more videos come out!

It's just a $1 bottle from the dollar store, no curing needed. Regular would be fine too!

Hi Josh, thanks for your videos, they are very helpful. I have the same washer "Cabrio" and am getting a code F2 E3 and cannot find any videos on this code combo, any suggestions? Thanks
Merci!
Thanks!!!! 😊
EXCELLENT video! Worked perfectly! Thanks Josh for the amazing insight!
Glad it helped!
This worked for me. Awesome detailed instructions that made it easy for a complete amateur. I’m pleased to have saved a ton of time and money with your helpful video. Thank you!
Excellent video! This worked for me. Thank you Josh.
Thanks for the tip!
The question is, why don’t they do the coat before selling it, no reason to have this issue every 2-3 years even after replacing original console
Thank you so much for detailed instructions. Our machine works now👍
Great to hear!
It worked thank you for the advice saved me a lot of money and stress
Great!!!
You saved the day, my friend! Much appreciated!
Fixed thank you! Would you have a guide for that same model dryer, how to remove the blower fan? Didnt find it in the back and no removable panel in front.
I don’t. Just do the videos if time and opportunity allow.
Thank you!!!!!! We just fixed our carbio thanks to you!
👏🏻 yay!!
Thank you for posting this info..worked for me…🎉
It worked for me thanks ! appreciate it I was really worried.🎉
But you did it!! Great job!!
A mi me funcionó Perfecto…. Gracias por compartir tus conocimiento con nosotros 😊… me ahorro bastante dinero haciéndolo yo
Tysm you saved the day. Washer works again !!
Thanks a million times! It worked!🎉❤
Thanks, after various problems with the buttons, I figured there was a loose wire, but found nothing. Then I found your video after doing the diagnostic codes, and seeing E2 F6. I used to work in computers, and was curious if the moisture is causing a short circuit on the board? (I wish they made these better!)
You are correct. Little clear nail polish goes a long way in preventative maintenance once you've done the repair. Thanks for watching!

It worked, had to create an angled file from a flat file, and my clear nail Polish had a violent tint… BLUF, thank you so much . PS could they make it any harder to access the electronics? 😤

Happy to help!
Thank you!!! This worked like a charm!
Dude this is amazing, it’s funny when you open it up how small the area that causes the problem is. The whole area is about the size of a quarter.
Costs about that much to fix it lol.
Does this issue ever affect draining?
Great video. It's was exactly what was wrong with my machine.
Awesome!!
