    Man, I HATE those wide-armed sweaters!!!! They do not fit comfortably inside a jacket, and are too much to deal with anyway. Please, make them stop.

      I hate the sweaters with long lose sleeves - picked up an awesome striped one at a thrift store (like the one at 2:33) but soon found out why it was there - the sleeves catch on everything - it's not really wearable.

    They are readily available because they exist in my not so offseason wardrobe storage bins. I love unpacking these bins because it is rediscovering what I have and with your video's tips in mind it with a new fresh eye. The open weave sweater always gave me wearing options problems but since I have collected some tailored vests, I will forgo the normal wear cami underneath to layering items on top. Just in time because I considered them summer/spring sweaters and had started the process of stacking them for storage. #29 the mohair vest had my mouth watering. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.

    As a knitter, this was interesting! Mohair-marled sweaters have been a trend among knitters for few years. Cable knits and Breton type sweaters are definitely hit. I have also seen lots of Guernsey type textured sweaters lately.
    Also I love collared sweaters and twinsets, especially if they have a bit of vintage feeling!

  • @canukmrsben

    As live in Canada (in a snow belt region), sweaters have always been a part of my wardrobe and also love knitted dresses, however prefer two piece sets (top 'n skirt) for their versatility. Quick tip: Re v-neck collared sweaters (preferably with a drop shoulder); try wearing it backwards to give the illusion of a relaxed turtle neck.

  • @Divinenubian

    I like the oversized striped sweater. But I try to thrift it 1st before I buy a new one.
    Cable knits are nice but I get hot fast. But a sweater dress is perfect! Cozy cute and easy to style. I'll look for one of them since I don't have 1 maybe in a bright color.
    I been looking for a set but they are not in the right material or style I try to avoid the lounge Wear or pajama vibe.

  • @xiomaras95
    @xiomaras95 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A sweater with balloon sleeves look lovely but hard to wear with coats and jackets. Also, as a petite of 5’1”, I have to be careful because I can look lost under too much material.

  • @gaytimpany7330
    @gaytimpany7330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Hi Leonie, another interesting video. Being an apple shape I am avoiding over sized and chunky sweaters. I love coloured thinner merino and cashmere. I haven't ever tried a sweater dress. Maybe I could style one with a long line cardigan below the knee. Transeasonal dressing and laying is vital for our kiwi weather. After a lovely spring sunny weekend it was cold yesterday. 🥶 I tend to wear a lot of coloured cardigans for layering and enhancing my apple shape. Keep up the great work. Roll on spring and summer.

    • @Thestyleinsider.
      @Thestyleinsider.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @watercolourartincapetown2919
      @watercolourartincapetown2919 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes my mom is petite and apple-shaped so a longline cardigan or a shacket (mid thigh length) works really well with sweater dresses. What’s hand if you find a sweater dress with a bit of a twirl or ruffle on the bottom of the skirt. Drawing the eye down to that detail

      Be sure to wash and dry them thoroughly before storing (or dry-clean), then store them in moth-proof breathable zipper bags when out-of-season, this helps a lot. Dead skin cells and dirt on them attract moths. Even a thorough steaming will help.

      @@Thestyleinsider. It is therapeutic, good stress reliever. When it's cold I enjoy putting on good movie and crocheting. This year planning on making long multicolored striped cardigan, scarves and purse. It's easy to do, I just do 'double stitch' and use largest crochet hook, not any fancy stitches. Any craft store should be able to assist you. In states we have Michael's, they have free classes and sell all supplies needed. Classes are probably online also. Cheapest supplies here are from Walmart online. Give it a try! You might enjoy it. Ok if I make mistakes, it's home-made and inexpensive. It's fun! By using largest hook, it is fastest way to complete it. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Few manufacturers think about short-waisted or short torsoed women. There is too much wool bunched up thick in the middle which looks terrible. It’s too much fabric. If stretched down they hit the hips and you loose any waist definition. Does anyone else have this issue?

    I’ve been looking for a true white open-knit sweater, preferably in cotton, for about three years. But, most are off-white and in unpleasant fabrics, like acrylic. As a petite, I find boxy, oversized sweaters really difficult to wear and chunky, bulky knits are equally unflattering, plus both are too hot for my mild climate. My biggest problem, though, is finding sweaters in natural fibers, most are made of polyester or acrylic, which I can’t wear. The merino or cashmere ones tend to be offered in only very simple, solid-color classic styles, but I would love to find some with collars, stripes or other details, too. I’ve also been looking for a true-white cotton cardigan. Ralph Lauren had the perfect one in spring, but it was already sold out before I found it. Not everyone, including me, looks good in those yellowish ivories, I need white. I might have better chances next spring.
