I turned 60 this year and even though you are much younger than I am, your videos help me as well. I appreciate all the tips in your videos. You mentioned capsule wardrobe and I was wondering if you do capsule wardrobes. I personally only do them when I travel. I like my clothes too much to limit myself to just a few pieces but that's just me.
You have elevated my style immensely. I feel so much better with my choices and with how I dress. My confidence increases with every one of your videos, because I feel like at 59 I am finally paying attention to how clothing fits together and fits me. You make it much easier to understand. I really can't thank you enough.
I' m 58 (from Algiers) and I ve been watching your videos for six months now.I have now a real capsule wardrobe and find it much easier to dress up each morning to go to work. Also I have refreshed my style and it helped me feel much more confident at my age .In fact II have been prettier before but never so well dressed! Thank you Lydia.
How thoughtful of you to explain how to navigate your various platforms/socials. I know it benefits you to help people navigate your platforms, but even so, it doesn’t even occur to most creators. Very considerate for your older viewers, but even we older millennials can use this type of instruction on occasion 😃
I've been following your channel for a few years now, and I absolutely enjoy your advice and perspective on clothes. I find myself having to attend a formal event rather soon, and your tips helped me find an outfit so effortlessly. I feel so put together and stylish without having to spend a fortune! I'm beyond excited to wear my outfit!! ❤❤
I love your videos and have had lots of compliments. I am 80 now but feel 60 haha. Latest edition is the silver earrings. So thank you thank you thank you.
I would like a video were you teach us different clothes styles that suit our bodies (pear, apple,..) or what to wear when one as a big belly. Thank you!
I love your channel and have learned so much. I do find with fusion dressing, it’s easy to read dowdy for my demographic-I just turned 70. I appreciate that I don’t feel the urge to rush to shop.
You put a lot of work into all those example shots, well done. And love the edgy / sculptural items with a twist. Can’t just play it safe with capsule stuff every time. 😉
I am so grateful for you Lydia! You are absolutely the best in fashion and style and I have learnt so much from you over the years. Always love your videos.
Hi Lydia, I’m 68 retired. I have gotten so many good ideas from your tips. The best tip is play in your wardrobe. It takes about a few hours out of your day. My husband’s always says am I going to see your fashion show today?😂😂😂😂
Yes, the blazer! You suggestions have really helped me. I know have a capsule wardrobe and I am so ridiculously pleased because I am not overspending on fast fashion ❤
As a person with a highly pink complexion, I really avoid wearing reds. Greys, navy, khaki greens, and sharp whites look fabulous on me, so that's what I gravitate to. Lydia has helped me hone my personal style as far as shapes and accessories so I always watch her new videos.
Hi Lydia, you give us extremely well thought out advice, and from the comments it’s clear that lots of us really look forward to your videos.I would appreciate some advice for pear shapes please.
Impressive that have an app for those of us who, you correctly recognize, dont like a bunch of social media, like insta Youre a smart AND stylish woman!!
Hi Lydia, this is the first video of yours that I've seen. Loved all your styling tips and agree with all of them with one exception. I find that matching my leathers, that is my shoes and belt, then reserving my purse for an unexpected pop of color is a great way to bring in some color to an otherwise simple basic outfit really works for me. So often when I'm visiting friends or family, my purse gets tucked away somewhere, but what remains still looks cohesive. Thanks for a great video, I'm a new subscriber!
I'm old to your channel, but everyone says I always look 👌 fabulous....thanks Lydia 😊 much appreciated ❤ I look at your pics, copy the looks 🎉 and feel fabulous!
I am building my style wardrobe for my size 10 VERY hourglass figure. I love your style, but some of these recommendations don’t work for my body type, but those that do, chef’s kiss!😘
Same and same! I have early stage Lipedema (which ~11% of women have) and am VERY curvy; I carry my weight in my thighs (saddlebags mostly), arms, and a bubble butt. I can’t wear a lot of the pieces that she suggests, but a lot of the concepts still apply no matter what you’re taking and leaving. Also, have you heard of Kibbe body typing? There is a ton of content on TH-cam about that and I’m quite into it. I think Lydia might be a soft natural, which is also why a lot of this doesn’t apply to me. I’m a soft classic so some of the more oversized, trendy looks that look great on her just don’t translate on my body type (or other types that are significantly different). Again, I take what I can from her videos and modify her concepts so they work for me 🙂
@ thanks for recommending Kibbe. I have tried several times but just could not figure out what my body type is. Maybe I’ll take a queue from you and go with soft classic and see if that matches for me. I have a relatively angular and very balanced shapeshape in that my collarbone show and I have very angular shoulders that are equal with my hips and my waist is much smaller. I don’t really have much of a butt, straight on, my hips are as wide as my shoulders and my waist is 12 inches smaller. My thighs, are proportional to my hips.
I really really love your videos! Maybe you are a little conservative, but in the end I love the contents you publish. Although I am working for 5 years or more in another industry now, I was a stylist for more than 30 years....and I really appreciate your posts! Keep on going!!
Great point about the bolder trousers. I do feel sometimes like I’ve got a ton of basics but nothing that really stands out or pulls it all together. I’ve been thinking about what I could bring from the warmer weather thru to the fall in terms of fusion dressing. Definitely will require some experimenting. Thx
Thank you as always for the helpful tips. I notice a handbag/clutch bag often ties an outfit together, however I never have a small bag, only my trusty leather backpack, either walking to work, or around the office - do you have any suggestions of how to replace the bag with another accessory that can complete the look??
Lovely tips, Lydia. Where is your burgundy blazer from? It is beautiful. I recently purchased a pair of statement trousers from Anthropologie. I was hesitant at first being that I am 67, but I loved the fit, the look and the feel. My adult daughter complimented me on them, so I guess this was a thoughtful purchase.
I purchased the faux suede camel jacket from Zara, (thank you Lydia), it is only $59, but it is so attractive and expensive looking, and useful for me. I can fit light sweaters under it.
Could you do video how to match tan and chocolate brown knee high boots( not over knee) with skirts and dresses and ankle boots same colors with dresses and trousers? I find myself always going back to black and need reprogramming 😎
Hi Lydia, Great video and tips. Thank you. As with everyone else, where is the blazer you are wearing from, and what's on your bottom half?!! Also interesting is the # of older women who love your style, myself included, at 73.
Hi Lydia, I wanted to drop in some feedback. I enjoyed the many picture examples you included in the video, positive and negative examples. Kinda prefered them over video snippets too, but its more the amount of examples you included. For instance in the bag and shoe tip, you show .. what? 4? 5? 6? pictures - liked that a lot, I found that helpful.
Ok so for three color rule what do you suggest for shoes bag belt issue? Like say you have jeans, white T, black blazer, black shoes, black bag, what color belt?
great video! about burgundy as a color: is it true that it makes you look older? I think i have heard/seen it in more than a you tube video... the advice was not to wear dark red or burgundy, this is why i started avoiding it.. what do you think, Lydia?
Much easier if young ie up to and including 40s, working with disposable income and with interesting stories social life which means clothes are used, worn out or achieve value for wear.
These are just comments I’ve had from women who say they’re older than me and don’t have Instagram, so I’m just addressing that and hopefully sharing info that’s useful for those who tell me that 😊
