Great video and aerial shots of the Keys. It reminds me of my Miami days in the Coast Guard back in the 90's. We did daily H65 Helicopter patrols around those areas for law enforcement and search and rescue. I vividly remember stilts ville with all the homes built on stilts out in the Biscayne Bay. I sure miss those days on active duty!
Man that sounds like you had an awesome time while on active duty! That has to be such a cool way to experience Biscayne bay! Unfortunately, only a few Stiltsville homes remain! 🌊🤙🛥️
Thank you so much for commenting! There’s definitely ways to vacation in the keys and not spend an arm and a leg. We could’ve brought our own food as well and saved some money. Out of all the places in key largo, this was the cheapest to keep the boat docked. In islamorada, La joya was the cheapest and that’s a really nice resort! 🤙🌊🛥️

I rarely comment but have to say glad I came across your videos. Been boating since 16yrs old and have had five boats and a waverunner over deacades. Very cool how you resored this Grady and show how people can do boating affordably. Best of luck and I'll keep watching espacally when my boat is out for the Winter but that is how it is here in NJ

Cool video! I remember visiting Gilbert's when I retired from the Navy; my first Rumrunner. It looks like someone dumped a sailboat motor on the reef; someone's cheap anchor. The boat is running good.

Buenas! De Matheson al hotel hay exactamente 54 millas! En total gasta más 44 galones entre ida y vuelta pero también salimos a pescar y a bucear. Con ese barco se puede hacer suficientemente fácil! 🤙🛥️🌊
You know, that wide open back end could use a fully enclosed canvas. Then you wouldn't need hotels. Throw a genny on pulpit and a hatch air conditioning on it and you're set. Maybe even a folding table on the deck under the canvas.
We actually have all that! Not en enclosed canvas but a sunshade and we have an ac we use in the cabin we could run with our genset! Check out our Bahia Honda video it’s a pretty neat setup. It’s way too hot to be without ac in sfl! 🌊🤙🛥️

We did right around 2.8-3mpg. 135 miles give or take and 44 gallons burned. On the way back I did bump up the speed a bit to 35 knots to beat out the rain.
@@perfectfitboating thats impressive consider what Gradys weigh. As for your screw up coming into the dock, get twins next time, it'll give you a whole new level of control.
His boat is nice but so is yours great trip 3 days less than 300 a day perfect it's amazing your boat and mine almost look the same except yours is 4 ft longer and I'm sure your like me that huge cockpit is great but I'd gladly give up 2 ft of it for for extra cabin soace😅

Also, while you are near molasses reef, check out coffins patch. Another great snorkeling area and there is an old spanish shipwreck out there. Gold and silver gets found there on occasion.
