    Thanks for all the tips.
    Any advice on how to deal with oppressive plus frame normals? My friend has taken to playing Seox; while some of my friends offense is very predictable (spaced jump that I have to get better at anti-airing), I'm a bit unsure how to deal with the universal overhead and grab mixups. My reaction time's not the best when I'm not anticipating something either.

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Best thing to do is go lab it. Record the string your buddy likes to do and see how to deal with it.
      When he is straight up plus frames it becomes a 50/50 as to weather or not he will press and you will DP him out of it. (If you have a DP char)
      For dealing with Grab vs. UOH it's pretty ok to just block the UOH. It's negative on block so they either have to spend DP Parry to keep going or let you start your blockstring on them.
      Seox's jump H is really deep and hits at a good angle that avoids a lot of anti-airs so again, best thing to do is just record the dummy jumping at you and get comfortable with what ranges you can hit them out of it versus when you should play it safe and block.
      Good luck!

    I used to play Tekken 7 and Soul Calibur 6 a lot. Few days ago i bought GBVS cause i thought "why not try something else?"
    I pick Charlotta as my starter character and man, as soon as i get into the combo practice the input mechanic is just so different here
    You really need to put input at the right time and not just rely on button mashing like Tekken 7 combo and it really stressed me how difficult this game are
    Another dumb thing i did was buying Cagliostro dlc just because i love Trap and its even more difficult to do and understand. The Hell Her combo practice doesnt even tell you that you need to do it with technical inputs so that the cooldown of the skill is faster :(

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      The more you move between fighting games the more you'll notice that each one has their own kind of timing/rythym/strictness for inputs.
      The good news I have for you is that learning GBVS will make your fundamentals and execution stronger in the other games you play. Tekken combos, especially some of the stricter ones, will feel a lot easier to execute once you get used to links/cancel windows from GBVS,.

    Any tips on knowing how to spot a counter hit? I don't have an enthusiastic announcer or colossal screen filling text saying COUNTER with massive camera shake - in GBVS it's like a tiny camera jiggle and a text popup on the side as far as I can tell
    (Unrelated but the ending clip was so good - lots of amazing stuff in this video like the chuunibyo clips LOL)

    • @raidhyn
      @raidhyn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ayyy glad someone appreciates all the Chuunibyo as much as I do :)
      Counter hits in GBVS are a little subtle but I guess after a while you just get used to the hitstop. As it is, none of your BnBs are CH reliant outside of Anti Airs and you can usually see if they're pressing a button they WILL be counterhit.
      It's something you do get a feel for as time goes on, but it's not as CRITICAL to know when a counter happens as it is in Strive for example.

    • @raidhyn

      The trick is to start doing the motion earlier than you might think. Basically as soon as you press the button for the previous attack you are canceling from you can start the motion inputs.
      It's also totally fine to use the shortcut instead of doing both motions.
      Also worth remembering that SSBA only occurs when you're at low health. I certainly made that mistake a bunch of times early on thinking I could SSBA when I wasn't at the health requirement.

      There's a very active competitive community on PC, but it's not exactly like Strive or Tekken where you can hit the ranked queue and get matches consistently.
