This video shows several lathe techniques that are not taught in school, the reason it is not taught is because this method has been forgotten with the advent of milling machines.
Pelajaran di sekolah kejuruan mengenai pengerjaan di mesin bubut biasanya hanya standar saja, untuk hal out of the box dialami jika sudah masuk kedalam dunia kerja atau dunia usaha 😊😊
Everyone needs to understand that this is just machining and NOT Precision Machining. Engineering happens with Precision machining. But credit where its due. The guy has great ideas.
Once in our formula student team, an axle in our lathe broke. I used the milling machine to turn a new axle. It worked very well and the tool was very stable, giving great surface finish.
Yeah, like welding current possibly passing through the spindle bearings. I especially enjoyed the weld tacks left on the chuck jaws. Good video for innovative methods to destroy machinery! This is a shop where nothing matters but getting the job out the door; never mind the machines may not work for the next job. I got "teached" a lot!

How do you guys drill without spot drilling or center drilling first is beyond me. You're even doing it on a round piece. I would do the same even on a mill and a square piece, the drill wanders like crazy if I don't spot drill first.
Brother Yanto, you never fail to make my day. Watching you manipulate that lathe like it is an extension of your hands. The milling segments alone are worth their weight in gold. Many of us have a lathe but don't have a mill. You regularly demonstrate that milling on the lathe is far more than a concept. All is not perfect though.. In my mind when welding on the lathe I would do everything and anything possible to avoid connecting the ground electrode to my spindle. Seriously, there were other, more direct options than connecting it to the rear end of your spindle. I would do anything possible to avoid having welding currents passing through or getting near my spindle bearings. My other, knit-picky complaint is the segment at the cutoff wheel. You just finished machining a hydraulic fitting on the lathe. You then took it over to your abrasive cutoff wheel to separate the waste end. Problem is, the cut off section was the hydraulic fitting that you just machined. When the wheel cut through the waste the finished part fell to the concrete below. Yanto, come on buddy, there should have been a wood or other soft surface below that cutoff.......... Capice? I still love ya! Wakodahatchee Chris
Electricity always takes path of least resistance, the bar connected to chuck will have real good contact so as long as arc is struck on round bar and not flat bar in tool-post there won't be any problems (contact between tool-post and bar may not be as good?) I would probably make some sort of plug to get better contact on lathe spindle though if I were to ever contemplate welding parts like that, 'throwing' ground lead into spindle will almost certainly cause arcing inside spindle bore
@1crazypj "*Electricity always takes path of least resistance*" This is possibly the most misquoted or misunderstood Electrical Law on the planet. Ohm's and Kirchhoff's circuit laws are much more specific and far more precise. I'm not here to debate this but.... If I have stock to be welded being held in my Lathe chuck, I would rather Earth Clamp to one of the chuck's easily replaceable jaws instead of the back end of my beloved spindle. ..Capice?
Nice ur work.👍👍 milling and drill work all include only lathe machine. Depending on ur lathe attachment iam also lathe cnc machine worker. I also some vedeose put some different machine 👍👍
Bearings have tolerances, with the ground going through the bearings this will cause arching in the bearings themselves and damage the rollers/races. Heat isn't the direct issue..
Такой метод обдирки не сработает, если заготовка была из углеродистой стали и ее отрезали газовым резаком. Можно так сделать только тогда, когда эта сталь - пластилин
There is a reason they don’t teach this in schools.. it’s a GREAT example of what not to do… 43 years in the trade and if you did these in my shop you wouldn’t last long…I’d fire you
You'll be lucky to find a lathe or other machine tool in a school these days! A craft knife is considered dangerous. Even in colleges and universities access to machine tools is restricted. Back in the day...........I was 13 when we were using lathes, mills and shapers. We were also allly casting. Everyone complains about the lack of engineers but it's the manby panty health and safety culture holding everything back. What happened to common sense? Rant over!!!
@@Yantoo Syntax can be a quirky thing when applied between languages. Syntax is largely cultural, what is proper with one culture can seem odd when applied to the language of another. However, by listening with an attentive ear, meaning is generally clear. Catched and teached seems to me, should be perfectly acceptable. Example: "I was sure the locking mechanism was properly catched." I'd get points taken off in English class for that one. Be well my friend. 😎😎
This guy does things that I would NEVER EVER even consider doing. NOt only dangerous, but ruin his lathe. He does these things out of necessity because he does not have a mill. Maybe he should build himself a mill. It is quite possible to build your own mill, it's done all th etime. If he spent the time build a mill, he woujld save far more time in his operations.

I just knew i was in for an absolute ride when i saw him weld a fucking plate to his stock and start indicating in a drill. There is absolutely a reason why most of this crap isnt taught. Just use a mill.
Evidently this guy is overseas. Has a lathe and other equipment but can’t afford PPE’s that’s personal protection equipment. No face shield, no safety shoes and I bet no ear plugs when grinding and welding. He’s young now. All it will take is one piece of metal flung out of the lathe chuck and bye bye eye sight. With his equipment there is no reason not to afford it.

Not taught in schools because there are other, better ways of performing these kinds of tasks. The term "tool abuse" comes to mind. Welding on a lathe! Are you bloody mad? The spatter from that arc welding can ruin your lathe bed. Leave those techniques where they belong. Don't abuse the tools.

Тем более что второй провод подсоединн не к детали а к станку,ток проходит через подшипники а это ОЧЕНЬ ПЛОХО.
