What a lovely video Rachel. So often I see people posting all about how wonderful they are or showing off / boasting about themselves, what they're doing...but you are so gentle and natural - such a refreshing change. Well done!
I hate that TH-cam fails me on giving me notifications however I’m so glad the universe has bought me back today, this morning I came across someone I follow over on TikTok who has just started getting into cold dips etc while out solo camping and was taking about how they had a headache after going for a cold dip and found splashing water over arms before entering the water helped ease that so I thought this was the perfect place to direct them for some great educational content and advice.
First time watching :-) What a lovely spot you found by the river. Cookie had a great time, sniffing and swimming and running free. So nice to hear the British accent! I am from the Midlands, ( Banbury ) now living in America. What a lovely day! Thank you for the Walk-Around :-)
Great video, couldn’t help but laugh out loud when that swan appeared and wasn’t happy 🦢 Good on Cookie for joining you for a swim, if you could tow a small board alongside you, maybe she could even join you for further swishes!
Aww Rachel my friend lovely to see you - you are just blooming brilliant! The smile on your face as you had that gorgeous looking swim and your free spirit nature to walk down the road in your cossie in case of other opportunities - did you find any? You are an inspiration for doing that. Also as it was a hot day, did you find cossie dried as you walked? Hope comfortable if so - lovely to sun dry clothes rather than tumble them but crumbs! They go so totally rough that one could file their nails on the fabric 😂😂
Wish my Ollie would swim with me, he's like Cookie and gets stressed but then jumps in the water and freaks out! He's a golden doodle so you'd think he'd like swimming, but no, and yes it is stressful listening to their cries when you are trying to have a relaxing swim. Good adventure. Look forward to the next :) x
Thanks Christine. She did get better and let’s scratchy over the time we were there. She’s 3 1/2 and that was the first time she seemed pretty comfortable with it so O am hopeful!
Came on here thinking why is this lady putting a video out of her dog walk looking for a swim spot? Ended up thoroughly enjoying this video. You have a natural presenting demeanour which is so relaxing to watch. Thank you!
Great vid Rachel with Cookie ,bet it was great finally getting in the river after your long and heated walk, looked very refreshing, and clear,me and my wife had 10 days in Norfolk, had a great swim at Sea Palling lovely sandy beach, and a couple of seals came with in 10ft amazing ,and went to Sheringham beach which was pebley beach but both were great fun, love swimming in the sea. 👍,
I prefer the sea because no one is going to tell you you can't get in or heckle you when you do. I haven't had much of that inland, but it's often in the back of my mind.
What a lovely episode after your break! I'm so pleased Cookie swam with you - and behaved herself fairly well. Her tail was wagging throughout, not sure if it was a swimming aid or because she was enjoying herself!
Great to see a new video 🎉 Always welcome, whatever the break 😊 Appreciate how long these things take and real life needs to take priority. Myself? Lots of head in crawl in my local river (Avon at Eckington) having spent last 18 months learning and becoming proficient. Settled down with more tea and cake to your video apres swim! All best to you both 😊
Just the enjoyment of improving and gradually being more at one with the water. Love swimming in the changing seasons and being outside. Getting to the stage of embracing and feeling the water and being relatively effortless. Working with it rather than fighting it. Beautiful feeling when everything in sync and slipping through the water. Perversely enjoy going upstream more, and easy to gauge progress against riverbank 😊
@@EverydayAthleteRach , I'm in Central Texas. My favorite spot to take a winter dip in the lake has plenty of sawtooth blackberry. It flowers in February/March. Looking through my photos, I see unripe berries mid April. We have so many deer here, that it can be a bit difficult to find a fully ripe blackberry - but the few I've managed to forage have been very sweet.

Aw thank you. What a lovely bit of feedback. I love sharing how to get in and have a safe swim. Thanks for joining me 🏊♀️😀

Welcome along, lovely to have your company. It was a peachy swim-walk.

That swan was pretty irritated - hope it gets out of bed the right side when we swim down the river!
A nice relaxing start to my day watching the river walk and the cool reflections of your river swim!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 🏊♀️😀

I did spot a couple more places, but the primary reason was to find a place to get out for a down river swim. Also, time was getting on!

Oh, I love the Norfolk coast, so many beautiful beaches. I bet you had a cracking time!
Glad you found a nice spot eventually! It did look very tempting but I still prefer the sea!

We did a few more laps afterwards and I managed to keep her off me by redirecting. She seemed to be enjoying it!

Thanks so much! 😊 well done on the swim training! Are you doing it for fitness or an event?

Lovely to see you in the water again and it looks like Cookie eventually enjoyed the water too :-) x
Thanks. She got better and better as we stayed in longer as I could point her in another direction rather than scrawping me!
Good to see you and cookie back.x
Great to be in the water and having fun!
Lovely to see you post a video Rachel! I am looking forward to you posting a video of the swoosh!!
I’m looking forward to that swoosh. You can be sure I’ll have a camera with me!
Ahh Cookie monster did great swimming :)
She was better at it off camera! She managed to to circuits!
Great to see you back. What a marathon! Well done.
It was a bit of an epic but a fun walk swim all the same.
So nice to see you again
Thank you 😊 It was fun to swim with Cookie
We get our blackberries here in April/May!
Where in the world are you? I tasted a ripe looking on yesterday I. Hampshire, UK and despite colour and plump texture it was pretty sour!

Ah, that’s it. Smelt so good! Hope things are good with you Adrian 🏊♀️😀
