I simply loved this wedding. As a man that generally doesn’t like to get emotional. This Union was truly a bonding of love That covered the space of countries , race and philosophical differences and it showed in the ceremony which was just touching. I truly marveled at Prince Charles escorting his future daughter in law down the aisle for a portion and his warm conversation with her lovely mother who looked eloquent and so fit to be in her sixties. I felt just so much love from this wedding as the brothers, Prince Harry and William walked the courtyard waving to the crowd of admirers or as they set In The chapel waiting for the arrival of the beautiful bride. Then once Meghan emerged in her lovely but not overly atrocious wedding gown as some brides attempt to compensate by wearing. I was just amazed how well it fit around every curve on her body and yet hung so gracefully as she walked. To see the bride and groom finally see each other and the love coming from their gaze-and hands embracing was just assume. Made me just happy for a few hours with all the craziness that’s going on in America and the world this was well done and well needed. Long live the queen for her blessings on this Union and to the newly married couple !!

Paul Le Mars That figure came from a catering company who said it would cost that if everything was being paid at full commercial price. Suppliers would fall over themselves to give discounts for the publicity they get. The security cost was much lower too. The soldiers on duty would have been paid wedding or not. The security element of the Cambridge wedding was £6.5 million. This wedding, being smaller and not in London, would be less, or allowing for inflation, about the same. These big sums are just there to get negative comments from people with an axe to grind. They estimate the wedding has brought 2 billion into the economy.
Also, it needs to be said the cost wasnt footed by the taxpayer. the royal family pays the cost from their own lands, seperate from the monarchy. We pay security- which, as has been said, is paid back many times over from the boost to the economy

The revenue raised by the influx of tourists will more than cover the cost of the extra security. The Royal Family paid for everything else, just like at any family wedding.

I wish Harry the best because Royality is just it. And not everyone knows the meaning of royalty. I strongly will pray for this man who went through lots growing up without parents. A lovely mother who always gave kids the time of day and brought up a gentleman which is what is missing in young kids today. Most think they are owed and everyone has to bow down to them. Its not really about helping but putting up a front. Race has nothing to do with it. We are all mixed. Its just some like to rub it in rather than give with a true heart. I wish you the best. I guess many do not know this, but Queen Elizabeth II's marriage to Prince Philip was rather controversial. It happened after World War II. He was foreign-born prince who had given up his line to the throne of Greece. He was poor. His sisters had married Germans who had served their country during the war. And neither King George VI or Queen Elizabeth really wanted him for a son-in-law. Also, Winston Churchill wasn't thrilled about him becoming the future Queen's consort, due to Philip's uncle, Earl Mountbatten of Burma, being the one who negotiated India's independence from the British Empire. It took Philip roughly a decade-and-a-half to finally be accepted by the Royal Family's courtiers.

Just want to point out it's actually a Castle, not a Palace. The Palaces are Buckingham, Kensington, Apethorpe, Hampton Court, St James's, Kew and Holyrood the Castles are just know as Royal Residents. (Have the feeling I missed one, but can't think lol)

Makes me laugh how some people say Meghan is going to "shake things up" in the royal family. The royal establishment is made up of thousands of people! That would require a lot of shaking!

It depends upon whom the Hollywood crowd is. Her father was a well known lighting person but not famous outside of the production community. She grew up on the set of Married With Children. Arriving there everyday after school to spend time with her father. And yet her mother would take her to soup kitchens to volunteer. Something she carried on with in Toronto when she was on Suits. So she has lived both an extraordinary and ordinary life. One of privilege but also one of humility. She has that in common with Harry who spent his year after high school traveling the world and spending much of that time in Africa. Living in Botswana and helping communities there. That is why there wedding and marriage can end up having a real effect on the world and its well being. These two are the ultimate power couple in that they will have the power to do a lot of good in the world.
Hollywood is just an image. The people that work in it are everyday working people. Go watch Avengers Infinity War and watch the credits roll after. The list of actors pales in comparison to the list of everyone else involved in creating the movie. All came together to create something memorable for the audience. All played a role in making the movie. Hard work and effort did that. Creativity and imagination. That is what Hollywood actually is. Behind all the glitz and glamour are people like Meghan's father. A guy working 70 hour weeks so he can send his kid to a nice school.

But I feel like he got carried away bc he was only given 5 minutes and his sermon ran for 16 minutes. When he said "ok we gotta get you guys married", we thought it was over but then he kept going and going and going. They were on a strict schedule and it appears rude that he wasn't courteous to that. Many could feel like he was grandstanding & milking the spotlight a bit. I'm not sure. Anyhow, the message wasn't the issue, rather it was the lack of decorum for the proceedings.

Aishwarya Net I wonder how many millions it cost to inauguratiate Trump, so he could stand in front of a half empty audience and a divided nation. The idea of monarchy is by no means perfect but sometimes its better than having a president who is set on causing racial division, international discord and hatred. I'm not a royalist, I'm a realist, no system is perfect, but the message sent through this marriage was far more positive than that projected through a Trump rally. I'm british by the way.

This was a beautiful story! I am still on the "wedding high" and my heart is still smiling! I can not watch/ rewatch the wedding enough times...nor anything having to do with the couple or them individually. I am in love with the love that the two obvisously share with each other and I'm so excited to see what that love will do to benefit the world! God Bless them both!

"Show biz royalty" like Idris Elba were present for Prince Harry. Idris knows Harry through the Invictus Games, from what I can gather. I know Oprah was in the shot, but I imagine the same is true for James Corden (who was in the shot as the reporter declared: many of them Americans).
Mary G. Exactly. Tom Hardy, David Beckham, Elton John are Harry’s people. I think even Oprah knows Harry better than Meghan. Aside from Serena Williams and the Suits /TV celebrities, I think most are there for Harry. I’ve never heard of Meghan before she got engaged to him. But she seems like a bright and caring person. And I hope they will be happy together.
