I think the idea of the worlds going to Saudi was a non starter and was just thrown out there to see what reaction they got back. A tournament in Saudi possibly.
For NYC, any thoughts of having it shown on a local tv broadcast. Madison Square Garden has several channels. I would think they could spare one channel to show the darts.
Just don’t call it women’s darts if you’re gonna let men play in it. I respect the players that are speaking out against it just because a few people are against it doesn’t mean the PDC is right.
Comments like these actually seriously hurt the proper cause. By referring to Noa Lyn as a man you are admitting to being against transitioning in the first place which also admits an inherent bias in your stance. What you should say is, “people born and raised as boys who then later transitioned to women should not be allowed to play on the women’s tour.” The problem at hand is that those who transitioned have a biological advantage vs people born as female. Whether or not you are against transitioning at all is actually completely irrelevant. Personally, my opinion on transitioning in general is: I believe that once you are an adult you have every right to do whatever you want to your own body. If you feel more connected to the gender which you were not assigned at birth, that is your right, provided you’re old enough to make such a decision. However, this opinion is irrelevant to whether people such as Noa Lynn should be allowed to play on the women’s tour. She still has an unfair biological advantage compared to the rest of the women’s tour. She is clearly good enough to compete with the men too - hell, she won a challenge tour title this year for crying out loud. Her being allowed on the women’s tour is very stupid. There is a way to express this opinion without actually disrespecting Noa. Calling her a man means you are not acknowledging her choice to live her day to day life as a woman, which is disrespectful. The ironic part is that arguing that trans women shouldn’t be allowed to play in women’s sports is SO much easier than to argue against transitioning in general, yet it seems people insist on merging the 2 together.
You know why people refer to Van Leuven as a man? Because Van Leuven is a man. A biological male. No amount of “self-identity”, “preferred pronouns” or any form of wishful thinking changes that. No amount of surgery can change that. Chop and change what you want, but chromosomes are permanent and sex is immutable. Not bigotry, not meanness, just basic biology.
The World Cup is a tournament that should move around the world, like any other World Cup. Keeping it in Europe is automatically and advantage to the European sides.
Why not ask why Peter Wright was included in the Premier League, considering he’s been playing so poorly and nowhere near as good as other players who can’t get a look in?
I've known Matt for probably 20 years, he's a huge asset for PDC and kid knows his darts. Do believe he will keep close eye on Luke and other youth coming through. World champs belang in UK and think that never change, venue might but worlds will stay
Awesome interview thanks!
Don’t always agree with Matt but love how open he is too regularly doing these interviews to explain decisions.
Love how transparent Matt always is in his interviews. Great interview as always!
I agree with Matt Porter, the World Championship should stay at Ally Pally and not move it somewhere else.
Until he receives an offer he can't refuse.... As the Saudi's tend to do.

Its time Vegas was back on the calendar, add Singapore and Japan too.
Ditch Bahrain altogether, Denmark and Netherlands can host Euro tours.
Love matt porter, class operator

The world series tour is shown on ITV3....
@@carpet6986 I live in NYC. We don’t get IT4. To grow the sport in the US, need to put it on tv here.
@timosaareste8655 You may be able to use the ITV app if you have a VPN and connect to a UK server....

Agree. Also, more women players aren't speaking out because they are scared to. Silence doesn't mean agreement.
No men play in the women's series???

They should definitely have a major held on Holland I think
Wow, both broadcast agreements ending in 2025 is literally perfect timing for pdc
Good guy but he is v wrong with the trans policy. Very easily solved - Have an open category and a female category.
Seen Barrs trying to stir it at 12:49 then reverses it hahaha
Not at all go and listen to what Barry said on talksport drive. He did say it
trans policy ? Utter lunacy
