I will never ever forget this 2005 year of English cricket it was unbelievable
Australia's opening partnership never knew to keep the run rate below 7 per over!
1. Gilchrist
2. Hayden
3. Ponting
4. Martyn
5. Symonds
6. Clarke
7. M.Hussey
8. Lee
9. Gillespie
10. McGrath
11. Warne/ Hogg
Absolutely mind boggling team. The Unbeatable
Well except the ashes that year!
Right
Massive aussies
Amazing team but Hussey at 7 was such a waste
@@Rob-nl5ge CSK fan ???
For me, this was the best final ever, till 2019 happened! What a summer 2005 was for genuine cricket fans!
20002 netwest what happend??? Final
Ye match live dekhne ka ghamand hai 😅
I really do miss these tri series tht it used to happen back in the days.. Natwest Tri Series, VB Series, Sharjah Cup etc. Those were the best days
Yesss. In 90s and 2000s there were tri series played in different countries. But after 2007-08 T20 IPL started and tri series got lost. Wish to see Pepsi cup Or Cocacola cup again in India.
@@kaustavchakraborty33 yeah bro coca cola cup and aiwa cup were my favorite tri series in the 90s
Cb series too
Really love those golden days of cricket 🏏🏏🏏❤❤❤
Carlton & United Series in Australia
Standard chartered series in South Africa
Cable & wireless series in West Indies
The Sharjah cup in UAE
The NatWest series in England.
The Pepsi Cup in India.
The Singer cup in Srilanka.
The Wills Cup in Pakistan.
That was a cool and calm runout from McGrath at the end. Most of the players would have thrown the ball like a bullet.
Accuracy and timing is what wins cricket matches though. Fair play to Glen, he didn't flap, he just made sure.
Looked like a no ball though 😬
Those lower-scoring contests are far more exciting than the 300+ scores that are regularly seen in ODIs these days.
Truly said brother. After 2011, cricket has become totally "Batsman Dominant Game". Less exciting.
I disagree, what you won’t see in these games are all the dot balls and the boring part of the game. The 300+ games is never boring
Not now 🤣
Absolutely right

That yellow jersey which made every opponents pants yellow. In my childhood memories this jersey was a terror.
True.
Muze bhi bada dar lagta tha, innn Australian se.
Pahle OZ Yellow jersey me khelne utarte the to Opposition dekh k half match aise hi haar jaate the...
Right even i was very afraid of this aussie team
Cheating and the worst behaved team. Steve Bucknor is their best friend.
2005 redefined the game of cricket
Yes it did... But for poor reasons... Not the same anymore since 2005
I would say 2003 wc
Both Team's Squad reminds me of EA Cricket 07
I used to play that. Sick game. I could never get the hang of playing test matches tho cause I wanted to smack every ball for 4😂
I still play it guys..still loves it.. Dehrener is dhoni 😂
@@andrewshal5472 yes dude also gemphir
@@andrewshal5472 also dravia, yuvray , Lexington
@@joebloggs6922 Damn!!! You had to remind me. I've had to battle those temptations too
Absolute brilliance...Those golden cricket days when beating Aus was like Halley's Comet....❤️
Nice comment bhai.. I remembered those days also
It is Halley's comet
Gilchrist Hayden McGrath Warne with ponting were enough for the opponents
those days Australia was a very tough team
Haa aur abhi to jaise cricket kisi ko khelne hi nahi aaata na
Those days even a tie against those legendary Australian team was like qualifying for World cup finals for other teams .
True bro
I saw this match live on tv at my home with my daddy in 2005 and we are just 😂 and this series Bangladesh also beat Australia
The current generation young lads will never know
@@aaveshshinde110 Bangladesh had given goosebumps to many big teams in one or two matches . From 1990 to 2019 that was the only one day match which Bangladesh had won
Okay ok now shut up
@11:58, Ricky Ponting's reaction is gold... It simply means "Glenn, a No Ball from YOU????"
That wasn't a no-ball. Billy butchered this one.
Brother it's a pressure
I know, Mr Consistency? Almost had to replay it 🤣
Ben Stokes is updated version of Andrew Flintoff 👍
i dont think so Ben is batting allrounder while flintoff is bowling allrounder
@Shourya Pathak lol
Even kohli agreed on that since he took ben stokes name after every fall of wicket & catch drop lmao
@@putinjunior561 stokes comes to bat at 5 , Flintoff comes in to bat at 5 too. I understand Flintoff didn't had enough 100s on his name. But he is a genuine all-rounder who mastered both stokes bowling had a lot more support from many players but it's not the case for Freddy , Flintoff is the power hitter of their side and runs in fast all the days .. unfortunately the big man didn't had a long career if he had he would have been the second best after Jack Kallis I still believe he is ability wise but stats matter 👍
Ben stokes is not even near to Flintoff... Flintoff was absolute fighter......
No any bowler can compare McGrath those days.and Collingwood is a genuine fighter of white ball cricket.
12:56 Thug life, literally
And there comes money monger leagues franchise owners with inferior talent along with money mongering attitude sponsor by ICC to ruin spirit of cricket such a disaster happened to gentle man's game after 2005 and still continues... PSL IPL CPL BPL BBL etc etc destroying players temperament it hurts
What a golden period of cricket that was, this Australian team was my favourite. I remember when they lost a match against Bangladesh in this series I got really upset and I was in shock for few days lol.. 2005 is one of the best years for cricket and both these teams had superstars and this final was a great contest !
See Bangladesh had given goosebumps to many big teams in one or two matches . From 1990 to 2019 that was the only match which Bangladesh had won against australia.
@@xyz58975 Right
The time when every team was extreame....the golden days of cricket....threscothik....still remembering you 😍
Gilkrist
Heyden

Hussey...
Those days Australia was a nightmare of any team...
Superb match 12:56 great run out from mcgrath 😃
Miss those days of tri series: CB SERIES & VB SERIES in Australia, NATWEST SERIES in England, Coca Cola Cup in Sri Lanka.
1:06 what was he doing 🤣🤣🤣
He was like "HUMSE NA HO PAYEGA"
@@flamebuoy1834 savage!!you absolutely nailed it

Loved this series. Still remember as it was yesterday!
Hussy never looked out of form
Lee was used to bowl 140 kph consistently for 10 years +....was bowling 145 in the 11 wc
Actually bowled 150kph in 20 years of his Carrer
Very clever and talented bowler ♥️🖤Glenn McGrath 🖤♥️
A product of Australian Sporting Science.
Those were the golden days when other team hardly chase less than 200 target against that legendary Australian team
1:06 what kind of fielding effort was that?😂😂😂
he dived early 🤣
@@KaranSharma-lm6eh perfect example of Rolling on the Floor Laughing.
😅
That era was for Australian team. But now the Australian team has been demolished. Come on Australia come back in you terror form.
Present Australian team is good enough to beat any team but that team was tougher than though to beat.
Low scoring thrillers are always the best
Most dangerous openers of 2000s Haydos and Gilly And most dangerous opening bowling pair Lee and McGrath 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Those were the days when an umpire would scold a bowler like a club cricket coach for bowling a beamer. I miss Shepherd man.
In this Tri nation series Bangladesh 1st time beat Australia ...Mr Ashraful hit his 1st odi 100
Bangladesh team has improved a lot....can challenge any big team
Best days of cricket...Ausies were unbeatable those days
England beat them just over a month after this lol
@@fcfcfcfc7813 yes but only in England, rest of the world had their asses badly beaten
2 teams were the difference...
Aus with McGrath
Aus without McGrath
196 runs total.......a very common score in ODIs for tied matches.
Low scoring but Gilly Hayden start killer(50 just 6 over)
If you need ultimate goosebumps, then watch this match!!!!
McGrath and Gillespie were average bowlers who broke every rule to win a game blocking batsmen while running was used most by these two bowlers
McGrath avg ??.are you kidding??
What a game. Proper see-saw battle.
This Australian team could beat aliens on their own planet.
Sure, provided the Aliens can't bowl inswingers or, dare l say it, underarm rollers!!!
To beat the australian team at that time was very tough job.
Classical triple punch celebration by Brett Lee
Glenn McGrath was a MONSTER ♥
Ian Botham - “It’s a drawn game!” What planet was he living on. Too much red wine backstage
What a shame:
No superover.
The teams which were alwayz nightmare for Auzziez
* RSA(Proteus)
* NWZ(Kiwis)
* ENG(British)
In those days no teams were nightmares for Aussies
01:56 this is Ricky Ponting
What a lovely game it was😘💖.
Mr. Cricket got 50 and also a wicket (i never knew he bowls😅)
Lee-McGrath, deadly opening combo😧
and what a beautiful partnership between Collingwood and Jones, when they desperately needed it😍
Thanks for these archives!!!
Finally England Saves This Match....
Basically low score was 196 at that time..
Present : Are you joking ?
Australia the art of cricket......
1:11 Oscar level acting skills.
Neymar would be proud
Ponting What a pull shot 🤟🤙
Those were the days.... when i go for the sleep always thinking about those cricketing golden days... amazing feeling
Aussie lost to Bangladesh as well at the start ...!!!
Bangladesh beat Australia for the first time in this series.
The title should be more like, ''Hussey saves the day again!''! Awesome lee and mcgrath as well...
Didn't geriant Jones save it?
That's what I call "Real Cricket"🏏. Thrill of the game till the climax🤩. Australian team under "Punter's Captaincy", a nightmare😁😁.
That final delivery looked plumb.
I agree, as an Umpire myself, that was plumb.
And that was a clear beamer on 2nd ball
@@RizwanAhmad-ru8sk Agree, and a no ball was called. If he bowled a second one, then he would have been called off and not allowed to bowl again.
Maybe Impact outside as he moved towards off side a little...But looked plumb to me as well
Impact outside off just
The game should always be like this even contest between bat & bowl not all day hitting sixes.
Harmison great bowling he is very tall player
Nah bhai Hussey bhi wkt lera.... Kya team thi vo
Simon jones had the most beautiful action❤️
As an Aussie, I agree, he was a excellent bowler till he did his knee over here. Such a shame and a loss to England.
He had good pace too!
Best match on youtube to watch and highest run chase match also between sa vs aus
Golden match golden players golden team golden days
In this series After a long time 1999-2005 there was a possibility to defeat Aussies .
That is called Michael Vaughan captaincy.
Pakistan. inzemam ul hak
india. Rahul dravid
2000 to 2007 was a golden eraa for cricket history.
Those days aussies always played with their best xi
I watched this live, and was devastated when Simon got out. Could not believe it ties even then
My name is Australia
best bowling lineup for aussie, their defended the target of 196, neither win nor loss
Thought that was plumb last ball, geez
yes, umpiring was not that good.
This was the best Jersey of Australia and England as well
My all time favourite legend bowler Glen McGrath💓💕🌷🥀🌹
Collingwood fighter cricketer
6.4 overs 50 runs!!! still caption says low scoring thriller😳😳how??? batting collapse?????
Good old low scoring thrillers. The 2000s were literally the golden era of cricket.
Seriously England Team management Should Be blamed Such a nice team and they didnt develop them for Champions trophy and Worldcup also !!! English Side were very much competitive dunno what happened Total team went down due to Injury just After Ashes if i Remember to tackle this ENglish Side Pakistan recalled Veteran Mustaq Ahemad and Few Spinners Back into the side !!!
Everyone Thinking about the Match..
Me Thinking: If There DRS at that time The last Ball Should Aussies go for the DRS..
2:54 Look at Clarke Dismissal
This is how his successor, Smith usually gets dismissed even in 2023 wc final.
Collingwood best grant jone
I m just 12 year
Where is greant Jones he is the best all time wk for eng
got replaced by better wk-batsman.
At this time England team had a some classic match winners
Mcghrath was on form throughout his career😅
'Caaatch' that deadly word would just remind me back in the day when they used to play india and how anxious I used to get listening to that.
7:41 Captain dropping the match.
Had Ponting taken that catch, match would have gone in Australia favor and not tied
Missing gilchrist hayden symonds warne bevan gillespie macgrath maccllum bond lara sachin laxman zaheer murli jayasuriya flintoff pitersen chanderpaul and sarwan inzmam wasim and shoiab what era was that of cricket missing those days these days stupid ipl
The game was between aus vs eng ...And almost all comments are between Ind ,pak, ban, sri or afg😂😂😂
The striped punishment acly guard because bathtub fascinatingly scare on a one gladiolus. finicky, harsh headline
Thank goodness that don't always play background music which adds nothing to the entertainment of cricket -- especially when it's at it's best! Bill B
Fascinating cricket from both sides
I was fan of Peterson hairstyle in cricket and in football I like David Beckham hairstyles
12.10 No Ball it was not given otherwise England were clear cut winners here !!!!
14 years later on this ground another epic match took place between England and New Zealand
Cricket those days was so simple and lovable...Nowadays its all too dramatic like a circus !!
Graint jones and paul coolingwood they made good partnership!!
