    Awesome review of it! I did on on the CDL 10P and it’s almost exactly the same as you mention, the vocals shine, and the weight 10Ibs less but has the same output!!

    I wanted to add something to this that I wish I would have said in the video about the Crossover points of this box. Vocals absolutely shine with these speakers because the crossover point is in the 400htz range while most boxes cross over in the 800-1200 range. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! How do these speakers hold up in the sun?

      I’ve had them in the sun for hours at a time and no issues. The rain hasn’t been as issue either as I have run into that. Only performance issue I’ve encountered was lack of AC power. They will fluctuate in volume when the power source isn’t great, but that’s by no means the fault of the speaker. I’m really liking them!

    Great job here.! Question what are the differences between the two CDL12p and the CDL12? Just Dante connection and a birch cabinet.? Plus one per side would there be enough volume for 200 people in a 3 piece band situation?

    • @SignalStrengthAudio
      @SignalStrengthAudio  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As far as I know, that is exactly the differences. The software for controlling them via Dante is quite good tho. Haven’t had the poly box next to the birch box yet.

      @@SignalStrengthAudio Would they have enough volume for outdoors?

    • @SignalStrengthAudio
      @SignalStrengthAudio  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have used 4 of them (2 per side) outdoors multiple times with crowds up to 1000 and they did great. Also had 2 double 18 subs. Honestly is great box.

    line array boxes have just as much output or more then point source or constant curvature. almost all line array boxes have 2 LF drivers and a large horn. I use HDL6As (one of the smallest true line arrays) and they have just as much or more power then a k12. they can be used with 1 or 2 boxes per side also but being 10x100 you have to place them right above head height if that’s all your using and that coverage is only the horn not the LF

      My next investment is going to be the rcf hdl6, I'm going to start with 4 per side. Super happy with their performance! I can still use my crank stands with 4 boxes easily. Makes things so much easier. Output of a single line array box (which in reality is a point source in this scenario) is good yes, but when their friends play along its where it shines.
      Back to the CDL's, one thing that really makes them great is the crossover point being down in the 400's, it really helps the vocal intelligibility and thats key on all my gigs. They won't win and SPL races however. How many HDL's are you normalling using? After working with a few different brand line arrays, the rcf is hard to beat for the money. Adamson is super nice but you'll pay premium....the Meyer/L'Acoustic range is simply out of my league lol

    Do you think an outdoor gig using only 2 CDL’s would cover 5-700 people?

    • @SignalStrengthAudio
      @SignalStrengthAudio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well yes and no… depends on the type of music and the layout of the venue. Also if you get the speakers up in the air it definitely helps get that throw going. And subs. I use 2 double 18 subs with 2 cdl’s per side and covered 500 people easy with a rock band. Without an issue. Concessions were about 300-350ft away from the stage and I could sit there and enjoy the show easy.

      I miss read your question sorry… one per side would be more like 300 people. If your space doesn’t have people too far away from the stage then it might be enough…. I recommend 2 per side outdoor in general.

    What db did you set your boxes too? Also what was the db of your master fader? I ask cause many people bring up the clipping issue

    • @SignalStrengthAudio
      @SignalStrengthAudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Greetings, yes the clipping issue. It seems the box clips on the input section of the amplifier….so the input is clipping, not the actual amp. Depending on the show, I will use 2 boxes per side, with the input at +2. It seems a good balance (better perhaps) of what the input wants to control and the actual output of the box. I’ll admit the clip seems excessive when using the 0 db input setting. I use subs 99% of the time and utilize the low pass filter on the box, and I will also cut the lower frequencies with EQ on the mains.

      @@SignalStrengthAudio I have tested the boxes to +5db and the master fader on -4.5 or -10. No clip 😁😁😁…I have 1 box per side.

    I hope you don't use 3 of them on a pole.
