Okay thank you.. but I didn’t mention that the road belongs to the Chinese.. I was told it was constructed by the Chinese hence you have to pay to use it . I gathered most of these informations at the Airport before I even got to the Township.
@@TORNYELI.Dubai, Sydney etc have such expressway roads where you use and pay, don't believe any unverified information you hear at the airport of any country 🙏,much love from Kenya 🇰🇪
The driver was just ignorant. It is pretty much a toll road like any other in the world but we call it expressway because it cuts the time used to travel on the alternative road that runs parallel to it because of traffic. Also, we are currently in El Nino season which happens after every 8 years or so that brings with it a lot of rain, flooding and destruction. Ordinarily, October-December is a short rains season. Nairobi is cool in the mornings and evenings so you will find people in jackets and sweaters during those times. Most of the daytime is warm or pleasant enough. January and February is our hottest months. Also Nairobi is set at high altitude so it is cooler. Mombasa, our second city is located by the ocean and is warm/hot all year round just like Accra which is also located by the ocean.
Welcome to Kenya, feel free & have fun. Most taxi driver's at the airports don't realize the information they give to visitors create perception. Your taxi driver is clueless in matter's government projects, the route from JKIA to CBC (he's like a tour guide during the drive) He seem not understand why there are many forginers transisting or coming to kenya. That said, the expressway belongs to the government & the people of kenya through public private partnership.
The express way is a toll paid road to facilitate loans in road construction it belongs to kenya,, that is normal all over,, major projects are facilitated by loans especially Africa , even in your own country ✌️
False the expressway won't be free. Any road called an Expressway in the world over is charged. Those toll stations are there to stay. It is expensive to maintain an expressway my friend even in the US or Europe or China they are paid. So don't be deceived. 😂😂😂😂😂and btw this road is almost halfway paid , the government wants to finish the payment earlier to increase revenues. Again even normal roads are not free. There's about 18% tax for road maintenance in every litre of petrol that's why Kenyan roads have no potholes......but for the expressway, the money will be charged normally for good to ensure that only responsible motorists access the road
The driver is semi-illiterate because the express road is not owned by the Chinese. It was financed through PPP [Public, Private, Partnership] model which means that the Private investor financed the contract with the government of Kenya guaranteeing it while the private investor recovers their money through charging for it's use by the Public for a period of 27 years after which the private investor stop collecting money and hand over the road to the Kenyan people.
Even the 27 years is an exaggeration. The government didn't want to tell citizens that they will pay for the road for life. That's how it's done with Expressways. But this driver doesn't look like he even dared to ask how Expressways operate. These are special roads for medium vehicles no heavy machines and so maintenance is high
My dear that road is a toll road...you pay to avoid traffic/ travel faster...it was built by Chinese but once its fully paid the government will run it still the same way...Toll roads are all over developed nations..you always pay to use it.
Terrible comments from this driver.this kind of infrastructure is ours on a public private partneship.the government should train taxi drivers to be proud of their countries.
