That year, the world had burned. The enemy had done it's worst, trying to stifle both joy and tradition. If only humanity could see the war being waged in the spiritual realm, perhaps then they could have some modicum of peace. Legions fought on the spiritual plane on behalf of humanity in the name of the Lord Almighty. Many bastions of truth and righteousness remained and the North Pole was one of them. Although it was largely abandoned and untouched by humanity, the Pole was under attack nonetheless. The enemy howled at the gates, prowling like a hungry lion through the arctic wastes looking to devour the weak. While all followers of Christ are considered saints, Nicholas held a greater portion of blessings than most. He and the Legion under his command would hold their ground, defending more than just a physical location. They would defend the memory of Christ's birth and the beautiful, joyous traditions it had created and gathered over the millennia. Traditions that now serve to glorify Christ. Some may fall, but they would be victorious, for if God was for them, who could stand against?

Imagine this in a Home Alone sequel where Kevin is grown up, the family is away, hes home sick, and the robbers return with backup for a final showdown
I'd want it to be Kevin at home with his son (who's possibly named after and dedicated to John Heard) because his wife and the other kids are stuck at the airport or something similar, and the movie is about the two of them have to have one of those Christmas-y bonding moments after having grown apart, and after defending their home together, with flash backs to the original two movies as Kevin relives his childhood years, the rest of the family comes in and Kevin's wife asks him what the two of them did, Kevin and his son smile at each other ans he says "Oh, you know. Just hung around."
How in the world do you figure that Carol of the Bells, one of the most joyful Christmas songs, is DARK at all?! The music is epic even without this rendition. The voices burst forth with, "Gaily they ring, while people sing, songs of good cheer. Christmas is here!" The melody & lyrics are bright, cheerful, & joyous. It's all light. No darkness.
'Twas the night before Christmas, and amidst all the bells, a demon was rising from the dark depths of Hell. Away to the night sky he tore like a flash, reducing whole nations to cinders and ash. Humanity trembled; Earth's children wept. They prayed to the Heavens, but the Heavens just slept. When what to our wondering eyes did appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer. The demon, he shuddered, beholding that sleigh. And all Earth held its breath, as the rider did say, "Earth, I am Nicholas, scion of light. Merry Christmas to all! Now stand up and fight!"
Andronut Umm. What? Look at almost any horror trailer and tell me that again. That counts as cinematic music. And also, cinematic music can add or leave whatever they need to for both the sound and feel.
When you pull out the score for this I get a “Hans” vibe, which is valid; and if you go through out a lot of his major works he uses anything and everything he needs. So if you added just the bells on the melody, even to harmonize and get some of those broad overtones in it would be epic af.
This makes me feel so calm. I needed this. Been feeling so sad, and my anxiety is killing me. Also, feeling so alone, everyone that I love is leaving me behind. I feel lost, maybe a little depressed. It's hard to hide from my parents how I really feel with so much going on at the moment. It's hard to live the day. And just by listening to this, something tells me that everything is gonna be ok. So I still have hope . Take care of yourself. You are loved. And I appreciate you. Be safe . Be happy and I wish to you all a good life. Never forget your worth and remember. Hard times have an end. Keep fighting. I will too. We will be happy and have a beautiful family one day with a really good job and really good friends.
Carol of the Bells is my alltime favorite chistmas song, because it lacks those awful corny lyrics and you can put it into a beautiful setting as well as a creepy setting so easily - And I'm truly in love with this interpretation
T'was a long time ago... Longer now than it seems.... I created a Christmas you have in bad dreams. I wanted to give them reason to cheer, but instead I gave them nothing but fear. It's been 25 years since that Christmas Eve flight. I swore to never again give yuletide fright. But the spirit has waned, the cheer has receded. Ironically, it would appear that I'm needed. Of Christmas, they think they'd rather go without? I'll show them what Christmas is really about! For such a wonderful holiday to become lost... I must prevent that, whatever the cost! For the first time since, I can't remember when, I don my old Sandy Claws suit again! To the festively forelorn, a lesson they'll learn. I'm back, boys & girls! Let the nightmare... _return!_ *_THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 2_*

Listening to this as a snow storm plows through my area, the snow dancing on rooftops as lights twinkle and shine through the darkness of this year. I feel hopeful that next year will bring back some normalcy, but at the same time things change for the better. This has been a year of heartbreak and joy for me, the most I've ever grown. I don't even recognize myself from 11 months ago let alone two years. 2021, I am more prepared for whatever you will throw at me. Bring on the new year.
This song is totally reminding me of the Christmas Truce of 1914 where the British and Germans laid down their weapons in honor of Christmas, and resisted their governments. It's a story of how if there's enough people protesting against something, we can make a huge impact on the world. It's my favorite Christmas story.
I don’t leave milk and cookies I leave eggnog and cake or brownies give him a change of scenery he has to be sick of just milk and cookies after so many houses doing that
The best version I ever heard of this, one of my favorite Christmas carols, was performed about 50 years ago. The church my family had gone to while I was growing up was burned down in a fire the Sunday before Christmas which was the next day. The fire fighters worked valiantly to save the old wood structure but it was just no good. The whole parish basically had no place to go to for Midnight mass and not enough time to plan anything else. One of the saddest parts of the whole thing was that we had a set of bells and chimes and they were played for our Christmas concert that preceded the midnight mass and that had been a tradition in that little community for nearly a century. Unbeknownst to us, one of the parishioners was a steel worker who also had access to a crane and cutting tools. He worked frantically all Christmas eave day cutting steel. Another parishioner was a piano tuner and a couple of others were welders. Together they constructed a make shift set of chimes out of giant steel girders some of them twenty feet long. They strung them with chains suspended between trees. After a couple of hours of practice just before when the concert would normally take place the bell master and his usual performers were ready but none were strong enough to strike the new "chimes" hard enough to get them to ring. So the above steel worker, who was over six and a half feet tall and could probably bench press a car, picked up a pair of sledge hammers and following the bell master's directions, banged away at the giant steel girders and carol of the bells was the first piece they played. It may have also been the longest arrangement ever played. I think that between the slower tempo due to the distance between the girders, he had to run from one to the next, and the repeated demands for an encore, it probably went on for over half an hour. Before he was done there were nearly a thousand people crowded around that clearing in the woods behind where the embers were still smoldering. Prior to that day there had never been more than about two hundred showing up for midnight mass. It actually started around 12:45. It was said the concert could be heard from nearly a mile away. Eventually they rebuilt and the old bells and chimes were replaced having been too damaged in the fire to ever be played correctly. But try as they might, they never duplicated the Christmas concert and midnight mass of 1972.
‘Twas the night before Christmas, a night that was snowing. One little girl had no idea where she was going. Through the woods and frozen lakes she walked. Not knowing by a demon she was being stalked. Until she saw, she thought, a light in the dark. So she stopped, and the demon made its mark. Never again will she return home. But instead, make one with people as small as a gnome. Now the girl is older, wiser it seems. But the demon she sees still lurking in dreams. Together with a boy she met, Will embark on a journey to battle this threat. But beware sweet children, for danger awaits. Be strong. Be brave. And rebel your fates.
THIS CHRISTMAS A decisive battle rages across the North Pole that will determine the fate of Christmas. It’s up to one elfen commander and his fellow soldier elves to launch a counterattack against the main invading army of Krampus, said to under the command of Krampus himself. With supplies running low and word of another invasion force on its way, it is truly a race against time. The fate of Christmas rest within this elfen commander’s hand. Watch as this bloody and intense struggle rages in the new movie, directed by Michael Bay Battle for The North Pole

@@Ann-kv3yb Die Hard is a Christmas classic, but sadly it is one of an embarrassingly small group of Christmas action movies. This needs to change if we are ever going to move forward as a nation.
@@regularfather4708 You are absolutely right! There really should be more Christmas action movies. I only questioningly mentioned Die Hard because it is still very much debated as a Christmas movie (for whatever reason- I think the Christmas atmosphere is clear but evidently not) for *some people*. Well the tune has already been in Batman Arkham Origins and whilst this version is nice, the one in that game is better.. namely one reason being it actually has bells in it and I actually feel it is more epic than this.

What they did was horrible, but that doesn't mean you can just- Santa: THEY KILLED MY WIFE, JACK! **A deafening silence fills the room as their faces slowly shift from an angry stare at each other, to a sorrowful look at the ground** J: ...I'm sorry Claus. It's my fault for landing us into that town. They wouldn't have thought we were dangerous if I hadn't- S: No. It's not your fault Jack... If you weren't there, the rest of us would have died too. J: But that still doesn't mean you need to kill all of humanity in return! That's crazy! You should be the kind of person who knows that! **Santa turns around and looks at the moon through the window** S: ... **sigh** You don't know the full story, Frost... J: What do you mean? S: Before I was in the place I am now, big factory, multiple elf employees and all of that, I started out because of *her.* She was the one that made this whole idea and pushed me to go with it. At first, big success. World famous and all of that. So, I had another idea. If I split the work into many people, the job would be much easier and quicker to do. So... I gave those jobs to my kids and- J: Whoa there, hold your horses. You never told me you had any kids before! S: ...Yes. *And for a good reason.* **Jack noticed that his friend's skin was becoming more and more red by the minute** J: Claus...? What happened? S: They went to where they were supposed to deliver the presents to, but the governments of those countries didn't think people like *me* existed. So they used missiles on them, thinking it was some kind of enemy jet or whatever it was the excuse they gave me on that letter. **Santa turns around and says:** S: At the time, they were all in their twenties. J: Jesus Christ, I'm sorry... S: I promised to myself that, from that day forward, if they messed with my family again, I would never forgive them... And that there would be *consequences.* J: Claus, please. This isn't the answer. I know it hurts, but it doesn't justify killing inoccent people, so please, try to calm down. S: If there's one thing I've seen through the years is innocent kids, that are supposed to replace the corrupt and horrible adults that control society, growing up and becoming the very thing they swore *me* they would never become. There are no innocent people in the long run. J: How can you be so sure? Most kids don't grow up to be like that! S: ...You know those times I set up shop somewhere so I could have a heart-to-heart with kids and they would sit on my lap and whatever? J: What does that have to do with anything? S: Very long ago, one of the kids that sat on my lap said he wanted to become a priest someday. You know what that kid's name was? J: ... S: You know who I'm talking about, don't you? J: Yeah... It was Hitler. But that's a rare case! Most people, even if invisible most of the time, grow up to be decent human beings! Most people don't lose control of themselves with hate or power or money or whatever. They care for themselves and the people around them no matter what. What's the point of burning it all if all you get from it are ashes and broken dreams? **Some of the anger in Claus passes and is replaced with doubt. He looks lost in thought for a moment before speaking again** S: Follow me. J: Huh?! **Jack tries to talk to Santa but is ignored by him as they walk through the wide hallways of the factory until they arrive at a big and abandoned circular room** J: Claus? What is this? S: This is where we used to store toys back in the day. It's got lots of room so it's perfect for what we're gonna do. J: "What we're gonna do"? Wha- what does that have to do with what we were talking about?! **Claus seems hesitant for a moment. He takes one last sad look at Frost as a tear runs down from his eye...** S: ...I'm sorry, friend.... 0:56 **From his gigantic red cloak, comes out a sword that is twice Jack's size, as it smashes against the concrete floor, it creates a loud *THUD*, that can be heard from every corner of the gigantic factory** J: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! S: If you think humans are worth saving, then PROVE IT! PROVE TO ME THAT THIS ISN'T HOW TO HONOR THEIR DEATHS. RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! -Laponian Lord of Gifts and Presents- *SANTA CLAUS*

Carol of the bells is a carol originating in Ukraine called Schedryk. It was composed in 1916 by the Ukrainian composer Mikola Leontóvich. Years later it was covered in English with the name Carol of the Bells by the American composer of Ukrainian origin Peter Wilhousky, performed on October 5, 1921.

It circles around and lands with a heavy thud and a skid on the snow.

Out of the sleigh steps a large muscular man wearing a red suit and hat. He takes a drag on his cigar, the end glowing orange in the darkness, and exhales.
"Jack Frost." he says in a rough, deep voice.

Late, I know, but w/e. IDK bout you, but I listen to the original one and feel like something's about to go down.@@DonnaBrooks
'Twas the night before Christmas, and amidst all the bells,
a demon was rising from the dark depths of Hell.
Away to the night sky he tore like a flash,
reducing whole nations to cinders and ash.
Humanity trembled; Earth's children wept.
They prayed to the Heavens, but the Heavens just slept.
When what to our wondering eyes did appear,
but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.
The demon, he shuddered, beholding that sleigh.
And all Earth held its breath, as the rider did say,
"Earth, I am Nicholas, scion of light.
Merry Christmas to all! Now stand up and fight!"
That's fine, but you're missing one thing...THE FREAKING BELLS!!!
Need more cowbell.
Well FUCK cinematic music
Andronut Umm. What? Look at almost any horror trailer and tell me that again. That counts as cinematic music. And also, cinematic music can add or leave whatever they need to for both the sound and feel.
When you pull out the score for this I get a “Hans” vibe, which is valid; and if you go through out a lot of his major works he uses anything and everything he needs. So if you added just the bells on the melody, even to harmonize and get some of those broad overtones in it would be epic af.
Hahahaha

I wanted to give them reason to cheer,
but instead I gave them nothing but fear.
It's been 25 years since that Christmas Eve flight.
I swore to never again give yuletide fright.
But the spirit has waned, the cheer has receded.
Ironically, it would appear that I'm needed.
Of Christmas, they think they'd rather go without?

Together with a boy she met,
Will embark on a journey to battle this threat.
But beware sweet children, for danger awaits.
Be strong. Be brave. And rebel your fates.

It’s up to one elfen commander and his fellow soldier elves to launch a counterattack against the main invading army of Krampus, said to under the command of Krampus himself.
With supplies running low and word of another invasion force on its way, it is truly a race against time.

Santa: I have to do this Jack! No one else will!
Jack: Are you crazy?! What they did was horrible, but that doesn't mean you can just-
Santa: THEY KILLED MY WIFE, JACK!
**A deafening silence fills the room as their faces slowly shift from an angry stare at each other, to a sorrowful look at the ground**
J: ...I'm sorry Claus. It's my fault for landing us into that town. They wouldn't have thought we were dangerous if I hadn't-
S: No. It's not your fault Jack... If you weren't there, the rest of us would have died too.
J: But that still doesn't mean you need to kill all of humanity in return! That's crazy! You should be the kind of person who knows that!
**Santa turns around and looks at the moon through the window**
So... I gave those jobs to my kids and-
J: Whoa there, hold your horses. You never told me you had any kids before!
S: ...Yes. *And for a good reason.*
**Jack noticed that his friend's skin was becoming more and more red by the minute**
J: Claus...? What happened?
S: They went to where they were supposed to deliver the presents to, but the governments of those countries didn't think people like *me* existed. So they used missiles on them, thinking it was some kind of enemy jet or whatever it was the excuse they gave me on that letter.
**Santa turns around and says:**
S: At the time, they were all in their twenties.
J: Jesus Christ, I'm sorry...
S: I promised to myself that, from that day forward, if they messed with my family again, I would never forgive them... And that there would be *consequences.*
J: Claus, please.
He looks lost in thought for a moment before speaking again**
S: Follow me.
J: Huh?!
**Jack tries to talk to Santa but is ignored by him as they walk through the wide hallways of the factory until they arrive at a big and abandoned circular room**
J: Claus? What is this?
S: This is where we used to store toys back in the day. It's got lots of room so it's perfect for what we're gonna do.
J: "What we're gonna do"? Wha- what does that have to do with what we were talking about?!
**Claus seems hesitant for a moment. He takes one last sad look at Frost as a tear runs down from his eye...**
S: ...I'm sorry, friend....
0:56
**From his gigantic red cloak, comes out a sword that is twice Jack's size, as it smashes against the concrete floor, it creates a loud *THUD*, that can be heard from every corner of the gigantic factory**
J: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
S: If you think humans are worth saving, then PROVE IT! PROVE TO ME THAT THIS ISN'T HOW TO HONOR THEIR DEATHS. RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
