    I liked this so so much! I used to train karate a couple of years ago, got my yellow belt and then had to stop because my life rhythm changed. Discovering this is so cool. I got back to my workouts three weeks ago and today I did this. I did it all through the end, in between level 1 and level 2. It was awesome, and not too hard.

    I was fortunate enough to attend some Goju Ryu karate camp tournaments in the '90s, where I had the privilege of training with Goshi Yamaguchi. Today, I trained with my daughter using your videos, and it brought back many memories. I wish I had maintained the discipline and continued my Goju Ryu training. After becoming paraplegic, I can only do some of the upper body exercises. I believe these exercises are the best for maintaining health for someone with paraplegia. Thank you, Sensei Tom, for bringing back such great memories.

      Wow - That is incredible. It must have been amazing to train with Yamaguchi Sensei. Karate definitely has a lifelong benefit and I am delighted to hear you can continue your training...that is very admirable. Also, being able to train alongside my daughter has been a gift that I continue to cherish. I am so glad you can do the same. Yours in Budo, Sensei Tom

    I only do 10 minutes of this workout so is this still hiit and intense and how many calories would i burn?

    • @igkkarate
      @igkkarate  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is still HIIT if you are working hard and staying with us. The good thing is that 10 minutes of this workout is much better than nothing at all, so congrats for making it that far. I would recommend trying to go a bit longer each time you do it...from 10 to 15 to 20 mins. As for calories, it will depend on your weight and how hard you work. For an accurate calorie count, I would recommend getting a fitness band or strap, a device with a heart monitor. But in general, you will burn about 600-900 calories from this workout.

      @@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs If you are lifting 2-3 days a week and have time to work out the other days, I would recommend alternating days between lifting and HIIT. However, if you need to get both HIIT and lifting on the same day, I would do HIIT before lifting as it will get your body warmed up nicely.

    • @igkkarate
      @igkkarate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For someone your age and weight, I would estimate about 500-600 calories burned if you go through the entire workout. But for the most accurate results, I recommend using a fitness band.

    • @igkkarate
      @igkkarate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Yes. That is a very good idea. 15 minutes will give you plenty of time to practice lots of katas. It is always a good idea to consistently practice your kata on your own. You can quickly get to a point where you the moves comes naturally. Then you can focus on making the moves crisp and clean.
