🔴 Instantly lead engaging worship with confidence THIS Sunday! ►► FREE training "5 Tips To Instantly Improve Your Worship Leading" → leadingworshipwell.com/freeaudiotrainingsignup
Thank you "Leading worship well" Summarized Steps: 1. Break the lyrics down into parts (like paragraphs and eliminate repetitive parts) 2. Understand the lyrics (main message and how parts connect) 3. Memorize part by part (it will involve repetition until you memorize the part) 4. Write the lyrics on paper, type them when preparing the slides and recall from memory (may do that more than once until you are comfortable). 5. The more you memorize the easier it gets, and you master the skill and become faster at it (took him 3days to memorize Another In the Fire) My additional tip: Long term memory sticks when practiced overtime (so see after one week if you remember what you memorised and repeat the process).
Good tips, Ty I am now in worship with some friends and memory is so key, I can’t use the papers lol. I feel like I’m robbing God of an intimate and beautiful experience. So I am now looking for advice in this area. I have challenged myself to learn what I don’t know and flow from there. Ty for sharing.
Great points! Start with just one song Ask yourself “how did knowing it affect the way the song went/felt?” Another memorization tip: look for and identify connections between rhymes/couples. Thanks for blessing and challenging us!
TO answer the question: Do you and your worship team memorize music? Well, we have music stands, but I know the lyrics enough to not stare at it. However, some members of our team stare at it. I would understand why, but I think it would be better to memorize, so we can continue leading when there's technical difficulties. Also I'm from a youth worship team.

So true! Glad you're here Elvis! 👊
Thank you .... indeed memorizing is an issue but systematically doing this makes a big difference.
We strongly encourage lyric memorization but also have a confidence monitor
Keep leading well Ian! 👏👏👏

We are encouraged to memorize but not required. We use iPads with music.
