That corner view room is EVERYTHING. I've never set foot in an Aman yet and people like you have made me a junkie. I can't wait to finally get to Tokyo and finally get to see this Aman with my own eyes. Great review and absolutely looking forward to the FS Otemachi review!

I'm planning on visiting Tokyo late March 2023 with another couple. Any recommendations on suites or rooms that accommodates two couples together? Thanks for the advice! Love the video!
I just had clients needing two bedroom (connecting) suites finish up in Tokyo. If you need true connecting, then I'd actually suggest Four Season Otemachi Tokyo. That's where I booked clients my preferred two bedroom suite with amenities. But if you're okay with just being adjacent to one another, then Aman Tokyo works great. Enjoy the amazing trip ahead!
How would you compare it to Hoshinoya Tokyo? That is also a high end hotel with much more Japanese influence. Not that large, but the service looks amazing and gets a traditional ryokan-style feel. Heard a lot about it so wanted your opinion
I've not been to Hoshinoya as I don't think it's for me. But a few of my clients have (and they've been to Aman Tokyo as well). They seemed to have liked the design of Hoshinoya but they felt that some aspects were a bit odd and it felt much more tight than Aman Tokyo. But I do think it has its pros. The Hoshinoya Kyoto looks cool as well and I've had clients who liked it.
Janu Tokyo will be open this autumn. Hard products looks as good as Aman Tokyo, with a cheaper price I think they can take some people away to Janu.
It's said Janu has more lively vibe compared to seclusion of Aman. That's being said I wonder will Aman Tokyo close the access for non-staying guests..? Lunch can be quite busy from office workers nearby & folks from afternoon tea goers.. i don't know if Aman willing to let go of some sweet revenues for Janu

@@GodAtum Yeah generally wait a year or so from any newly opening hotels for them to sort out all of issues, unless you don't mind to be a guenia pigs.

Have you stayed in both the regular and corner suites at Aman Tokyo? If yes, which do you prefer? I’m booked for a corner suite right now but not sure if I will miss the larger bedroom of the regular suite. Do you know if they upgrade from the corner to the Aman suite?
Yes, I've stayed in both suites. Will try the Aman Suite on my next visit. I much prefer the Corner Suite over the Regular Suite as I think the views more than offset the smaller bedroom. I find it annoying to always having to get very close to the windows of the regular suite in order to have an expansion view. Whereas the Corner Suite allows you to observe 270 degrees of view from anywhere in the living room. For example, if you're having breakfast in the reg. suite, from the table, your views are very limited. In the Corner Suite, you can see everything. I just had a client finish a stay in the Corner Suite last week and they agreed that it's better than the normal Suite. Aman Tokyo officially does not allow upgrade into the Aman Suite (as it's a specialty category for them) but I've luckily had a couple clients get upgraded over the years from Corner Suite due to knowing Aman teams so well. But it's rare for that specific upgrade. Enjoy! I think you'll love the Corner Suite.
@@haotang Thanks! I'm pumped because I saw your IG story a few months ago about how much of a deal Aman Tokyo was at that time before Japan opens up. So, I booked the corner suite preemptively booked and paid for my March 2023 stay at $1300/night (pre-tax) via Amex FHR. Now, the rates for the same room and dates are $2700/night (pre-tax). I think I got a hell of a deal! I imagine it'll go even higher as we near the date.

Which one has a more stunning greenery view of imperial garden, FS Otemachi or Aman?
They both do but Four Seasons is arguably better as it's a bit closer to it than Aman.
How much would I need to be spending to get value from working with someone like you - I spend around 20k a year on holidays but it sounds like that might be a nightly spend for some of your customers?
Thanks for the interest and asking! While some clients do spend $20k or more per night, that's not always the norm. Most of my clients are comfortable with a budget of $2.5k - $10k per night pre tax. Realize that's a really wide spectrum but as you may know/agree, the prices across the global luxury hotel market can vary widely. While I may not be the right fit, there are definitely some advisors out there who may be able to deliver some real value to you at your preferred budget. Every advisor has his/her niche, core value, etc. i.e. I have great relationships with AMANs, Four Seasons, Rosewood, COMO, etc, but another advisor might be very close with Marriott, Ritz Carlton, etc. The hassle is just to try until you find one that fits your needs really well. Do you recommend Aman Kyoto?
Only if you're already been to Kyoto and want something very peaceful and not leaving the hotel much at all. If you want to explore the city of Kyoto and walk around, Aman isn't the best option. I'd try Park Hyatt or Four Seasons.
Why do you think Aman Tokyo got 4 star rating not 5 from Forbes when it’s really cool and nice?
I honestly have no idea. I guess it's same when many of the places they rank to be 5 stars, I wouldnt' even consider true luxury. Some rankings in the industry is also known to be highly manipulated and can be purchased. So I'd take any rankings with a grain of salt. Often the best properties in the world (the most exclusive) aren't even mentioned on these publication lists. But that's just my humble opinion.
Aman Kyoto is really best of the best choice in Tokyo. The rice from bf at restaurant is a little bit cold and the sweet is not so fresh that each page separate easily as served in Aman Kyoto but still out beat other hotels by miles. FS Otemachi has the best bread and sweeties that beats every shop world wide, but that is all. Pool at Aman is too warm to really swim but the pool side beds are comfortable and relaxing. The FS pool is cool and just right for swimming. But the steel surface make one hard to tell end and easy to bump head. Over all, Aman Kyoto is the best place to relax and use facilities. FS Otemachi is a very good hotel and all employees there were working hard to peruse the best. However, you don’t really want a staff watching you at pool and at the changing room. Even the staff is none stoping to clean things up and making beds after use, you can’t relax and enjoy on your own at FS. Aman is just right. But FS is at half the price…
Thanks for your input! Yes, they all have their pros and cons (tradeoffs). Luckily, I think both Aman Tokyo and FS Otemachi are different enough that I can help clients quickly figure out which is the better fit for their needs. Funny about the metal floor and mirrors in pool at FS Otemachi, it's stunning but I did hear people who run into it :)
stayed here last month. wasn't impressed checkin was done in the lobby. The Capitol does in-room checkin. Also asked my name too many times.
