Going hard on physical comics is admirable! It didn't take my long to realize that they eat up a LOT of space, and I had to go all digital. Thankfully that's an option these days.
It’s Amazing Spider Man and Incredible Hulk for me, my favorites growing up in the 70s and 80s. Now I have the chance to have the entire run for both titles. I’d love to collect more, but I don’t have the money or the shelf space!
Fun Collection video!! I’m a pretty casual fan of the Epic format, but I very recently decided I’m going all in on Amazing Spider-Man. Picked up a TON of Spidey Epics from Cheap Graphic Novels and Amazon recently. Can’t wait to go through them all
I'm fine mixing formats. For Classic ASM, I'm going OMNIs vols 1-6, then the epics up until the clone saga where I have those four omnis (this means I'll have to get issue #206 since omni 6 and the next epic don't perfectly line up)
I gotta check what I have but I typically collect by price, character, and run. Don't have a lot of epics, but the ones I have are due to price point. I think I mostly have some of the Star Wars epics.
I actually only started like four months ago, which seems like a mistake since so much is out of print at this point. I want to read She Hulk, oh, only one volume seems to be in print. I want to read X-Men from the same place you started, oh I Magneto is out of print (comic shop had it though), I want to read Ghost Rider, oh, haha, oops. At least I can still get all of Wolverine that's out and thanks for the heads up on Blade. Really appreciate that, and the video. I like the collection run through. Since I'm still new I don't know how often these get reprinted though. I'd love to get Silver Surfer, and I would prefer an Epic Collection of Rom but the giant collections are like 50% off currently so I should just save up for those like I did the What If ones.
@@TandooriJones They definitely have been doing a lot of reprints lately so hopefully the ones you’re looking for get reprinted soon. I would recommend getting the ROM omnibuses for sure since we don’t know if there will be other printings due to the Hasbro license There’s a TH-cam channel called Near Mint Condition who do announcements for Marvel so I recommend checking them out to keep up on things
@@Soundout12 I actually wouldn't mind if you did individual Epic Collection reviews, going over the stories and content within and pointing out the interesting stuff, like when I'm reading that X Men Second Genesis volume it's interesting seeing Nightcrawler keeps getting powers added to him to make him more different from Beast with teleportation, how a random Leprechaun is the first person to say Logans name, and I'm half way through and they haven't actually said what Wolverines mutant power is yet, but maybe they said it in the Hulk appearance. See since you know more about comics I think you pointing out stuff like this would have value, but maybe that's too much mixing work with fun lmao. Still, that's very appreciated knowing they reprint these often, along with that youtube recommendation. And yes, you're most likely very right about ROM so I should.
@@TandooriJonesI would love to do videos like that! I’ll look into doing something like that in the future Also fun fact, Near Mint Condition just announced that ROM IS getting Epics in April 2025 so more options! (Tho some good deals on the omnis might be cheaper overall)
@@Soundout12 That would be great, especially if some of these DON'T go back in print! Your video made me want to check out Generation X but that first volume... That's amazing to hear about ROM as well, now I needed to decide if I should get the Omnis which will be cheaper overall, or wait for the Epics which will be... easier to hold and read haha
Which Epic Collections would you recommend for someone trying to start out on Marvel comics? And in case you’re wondering, the characters I wanna read about are the Avengers and their individual members, Spider-Man, Deadpool, X-Men, X-Force, Fantastic Four, and any Spiderverse, Deadpool Corps or any multiverse-kind of stories starring those characters. Also would you recommend buying every single Epic?
Firstly I don’t recommend buying every Epic unless you’re super hardcore fan. A lot of them are out of print Now for recommendations Avengers - I recommend West Coast Avengers Vol 1, Hawkeye: Way of the Arrow is also secretly a Solo Avengers collection and has a bunch of Avengers featured Spider-Man - Kraven’s Last Hunt has some great stories Deadpool - The Deadpool & Spider-Man series might be up your alley X-Men - Absolutely recommend Second Genesis. It’s the beginning of Chris Claremont’s run and is iconic X-Force - I haven’t read much X-Force so I’m not sure Fantastic Four - Coming of Galactus or Mystery of Black Panther. F4 is one of those that is solid with almost every volume I don’t think any Spiderverse or Deadpool Corps has hit Epic yet
Me too. Its like they're trying to avoid Mutant Massacre, Inferno, etc until they can figure out how to format them. But if they just do what they did with Fatal Attractions, it would be great
I really enjoy the Marvel Epic Collections, and plan on buying all of them up to the year 1992. I don't really like the direction Marvel started going in after that. Also buying Omnibus books of the Golden Age and early Silver Age Timely and Atlas stuff. Recently started buying Omnibus books of series that have not been released into Epic Collection. I don't have a lot of room, so I limit myself to collecting only Marvel, and Dark Horse Collections of EC Archives, Creepy, and Eerie.

That’s definitely why I try to narrow my focus of what I own. I do a lot of reading on Marvel Unlimited and DCUI when I’m not sure if I’ll like a book

Conan got some nice Epics. Especially starting Busiek's run.
Funny enough, the only Epic Collection I have right now is New X-Men volume 1! Got it for a discount when I worked at a comic shop.
