Thank you for your video, I stripped the 7mm bolt in the connector plug and was worried It was going to be expensive to repair. After watching this video I knew exactly what I needed. I cant thank you enough.
Dude, I cannot thank you enough for making this video, I have a 2010 Charger RT. And you laid it out perfectly. Thank you so much!
Always happy to help when I can. I appreciate you finding the video.....now subscribe and follow the channel....you never know when a video comes out that might help you.
i know I am pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream new movies online ?

Excellent tutorial!......Just imagine if he wasn't on the clock, how much better this video would be. MotorCity Mechanic, great work and thank you
BRILLIANT! Perhaps the easiest to follow instructional automotive repair video I’ve viewed. I could only feel more comfortable performing the repair if I had a lift.
No doubt.....a lift makes life alot easier. Thanks for the kind words and great feedback about the video. Make sure to subscribe.
NOW THATS THE WAY ITS DONE .THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP. Honestly I really needed this information and you absolutely killed it. You should be proud of that. All of my respect too you. Thank you again. Your #1FAN
Thank you so much for this walk through I just had to do this procedure 08 Jeep grand cherokee because it was in limp mode from bad speed sensors in my NAG1 transmission... your instructions were easy to follow and the repair went well I only had to call someone to reset the computer and my Jeep runs great. I subscribed for sure keep up the good work.
Thanks for this comment as well and for having subscribed!
@itz1 AV was your code p2767?
@@Jakeroach96 I can't remember the codes but if for the speed sensors this is the procedure it wasn't bad at all
About to help a buddy with the same job on his 2006 Grand Cherokee. How does the speed sensor separate from the valvebody and the other sensors of that unit? Thanks in advance.
@@GregBeene it's been a while but I think it's just a bolt that holds it in.... once you open it up you'll see it's not complicated at all but hmu if you need to tho
thank you for this video it help me get my car back on the road
many thanks
Dave is an Automotive Surgeon...!!! Thanks Much.
Amazing video. I'm in Limp mode and have a tcc code. Hopin a new tcm fixes it, if not I'll be changing valve body out.
Thank you so much ! I screwed the conductor plate up on our 2005 magnum. With your video I will be able to sleep tonight. Thanks again and Happy New Year to you.

Great video. Super good explanation of how to on every level of valve body replacement in the Nag 1.
Thanks!
Thanks man for the comment
Love your channel man
Your one of the few that has 5.7 hemi engine channel on how to fix them up.
Thanks man. Appreciate the kind words and support. Dont forget to subscribe if you havent already.
Thanks man..I changed my fluid awhile back and did the graph method. Thanks for teaching me the proper terms on some things and about the valve body. It does feel like a good trans as long as it's not abused :).
The trans holds up great. I have very few issues with them. I still need to work on the video for checking the fluid on this trans and a few more. Just have to find the time and motivation. Appreciate the comment and make sure to subscribe
do you have a video on how to check the trans fluid on the NAG-1 yet?
Thank you for posting this video. It actually help me to see what to expect when i replace the filter and whats in there.

Thanks for this video. I have an 05 Jeep that’s throwing codes for p2784 p0731 and from what I gathered it’s the speed sensor and your video helps a lot in replacing that part.
Many thanks for finding the video Chris. I think your on the right track. That plastic overlay is typically the issue. The thing is expensive last time I checked with our parts department. A rebuild valve body that comes with the plastic overlay is actually cheaper then the part by itself. Make sure to subscribe.
Very nice, thanks. Rough time with broken bolts to get the pan off and getting that connector back on wasn’t as simple by any means. Also needed to clear my code before she would shift again. But 10 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee I’ve had since new back on the road!
Glad to hear its back on the road. Thanks for commenting and sorry for the issues you ran into. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already.
How did you clear codes, now mine won't shift out of first?? But everything was very smooth.
@@MD_Wrapz I have a ODB2 bluetooth reader to my phone that lets me reset some codes with free software.

Really appreciate you, my guy, for the time and effort it took to do the work and explain in depth... ❤you're amazing for that... i have a 2011 grand cherokee (v6,awd,flex,had 7yrs,169k)... it drives amazing, but the rpmz just keeps going up... it doesn't shift as it should... so i drive it under 40mihr. AZone... 😅fkn gave me the wrong sensors... so im left to do it this way😢❤😅... appreciate you.
Nag1 trans fluid check in MM is by temp related as for fluid expanding when operating temp reached !! Now a normal temp shoud read on dash tc guadge if u have one in Drive , a temp of 175-185 is normal ,,, now using dipstick in MM , you should read 65-75 mm on stick ,, if is not accurate inthat range then add or take out accordingly. This info is for NAG1 722.6 charger dodge TC 5spd , or MB as well bc they both share same TC ! Hope this helps
You are a master mechanic love your video thank you
The fluid level is crucial to be exact temp bc the fluid will expand when hot , so if u fill it at 40 cold it be about 80 hot !! NAG1 fluid needs to be cold 25 and with inside gauge reading 70 is the correct level readings this way when HOT it should always read 175-185 max to be perfect, thats how i got my level readings going , let motor idke till inside trans gauge gets to be 70 rite then i check my dipstick nd reads 25 min and that is exactly NAG1 temp leveles chart
AWSOME VIDEO!!! Keep up the excellent work man 👏👏👏
Thanks Michael! I will certain will. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already
Great video. Would a bad valve body cause my transmission to get stuck in first gear (occasionally) at a stop and not want to accelerate. I would have to put the car in park and restart the car for the transmission to start going again. I took it to the dealer and got 4 TCM updates and no codes showed up during the diagnostic. Car is a 06 300 SRT8. Another symptom is it won’t accelerate fast enough at WOT.
Possibly. I have had to replace a few valve bodies for different issues over the years. Its going to have to be acting up inorder to narrow the cause down which isnt always possible and can be difficult. Otherwise its a guess. Thanks for asking and for watching, Make sure to subscribe.
Javier Cruz did you ever figure out the problem that was making your car go into limp mood?
Did you ever fix your issue... I can help

Man thanks alot for this vid!! I been looking everywhere for this vid thanks for the detailed video. 👍
Great video very well explained. I replaced the electrical part due to codes with speed sensor. After install the car don’t move. I check the selector lever is in the slot and my plug looks right. No codes and idea what I missed. Thanks
Great series, very helpful.
Accurate and professional
Is that consider as the transmission range sensor also. I called the Dodge dealership and asked them if they had that part transmission range sensor. They said that the Dodge charger 2010 doesn’t have one and that they couldn’t find it in the system. I could use your help. My 2010 charger 3.5L won’t start due to PO706. Or what is equivalent to transmission range sensor???
Hi awesome vídeo!! I have a 2014 dodge challenger. Once I put the scan tool into it, it says my transmission output shaft speed isn’t reading at all. Would this be the culprit? If I accelerate too fast, the vehicle just revs out. Thank you in advance!!
great vid! just what i needed
how much does this work cost
great video, is the neutral safety switch built in the valve body
Should I worry about the little balls falling off the valve body while replacing the sensor ?
Video is gold!! Thank you!!!!
Wow only 4 quarts? I definitely over filled this before I decided to change my valve body.
I changed that part on my 05 dodge magnum but it did not made that snap sound when i pushed it in. I bolt it and have no leaks and shifts good.
Sounds like all went well. Thanks for letting me know how it went. Make sure to subscribe and enjoy the weekend.
Do you have a video on replacing the plastic "panel" the harness plugs in to?

Would not having the linkage V lined up properly cause the vehicle to shut off when shifting into gear after replacing the conductor plate ?
I need this done to my 2006 dodge charger SXT...... I wish you lived here in NC. All the amazing mechanics/technicians at Crown Dodge of Fayetteville are no longer with the company and it's hard to trust the new guys..
Hi EB! I also live in NC, Wilmington to be exact. And I actually work in Fayetteville often. I was wondering did you ever get you 06 charger sxt worked on? Did you find a good mechanic in Fayetteville? I know it's been over a year ago, but I thought I'd ask! I have a 05 300c and have to possibly get this done. I have a pretty good transmission guy that will do it for me since I don't have a lift or shop, otherwise I'd do it myself. The cost to have mind do at a shop is $1000. The only reason I'm going to this guy is because he replaced my transmission on my expedition 2 years ago and I haven't had any issues with it. I hope you've had a great outcome with your charger!
HA HA...drain table! 😂 radiator/condenser
Hello… after you install the new NAG the transmission need reprogramming, isn’t it?
Cuz after I replaced mine transmission doesn’t work as should, and they told me it need reprogramming.
Thank you
Great video. My 14 Charger wasn’t shifting past first gear so I went to autozone and I was told I needed to change the speed sensor (on the valve body). I’ve followed all direction on this video but now the shift lever goes into gear but the car doesn’t go into gear. Basically undrivable. Any ideas?
Did you ever figure out your problem? I didn't see his reply to you! Thanks!
Great vid!!! Any pointers on P0730 incorrect gear ratio. On a nag1. Was thinking about replacing conductor plate. Thx for the vid again.
What did you do about the p0730?
any update please 🙏
Your the best
So is the conductor plate and speed sensor the same thing?
You are the man!!
Cool video
Thanks Anthony! Make sure to subscribe.
My Challenger is giving me a code p0501. The reader said it was a faulty speed sensor. I have ordered the replacement for the “yellow part” should replacing this fix this issue or is there something else that needs to be replaced? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Please need a part number for a 07 dodge charger sxt 3.5 722.6 nag1 5 speed valve body and complete conductor plate.
Will this part make my transmission not shift? when its cold it shifts good,an i start driving an after an hour ill b in red light an it wont shift out of first..or could it be something else??
Dawg u big dawg make me wanna try it but ima go spend dis money nice shit mayne💯u did dat gang
Trani started down shifting harder than usual. Had the fluid flushed and today it hesitated shifting into 2nd. Should I drop and clean the pan and change the filter or also change the solenoids? Can solenoids be cleaned out?
Would there be a noticeable difference if you missed one of those bolts when bolting the valve body back in? And what would happen if I did not reset the TCM?- will it ruin the new conductor plate that is installed?
So wait does the whole thing need replaced like all the shift solenoids speed sensors all that crap that's on top or do you take that off and put it on a new piece. I'm confused lol. I have a 06 charger rt I keep getting a code for input speed sensor no signal. Turn the car off and back on it runs fine for a while then the code comes back.
What if I changed the conductor plate and the car is not starting anymore? Could I have know it in the wrong gear ? When going back up with the valve body ?
Just curious once you install, quick bolt on process I see.... top it off...
But will it need any computer resets? Or just hook battery back up and etc.. good to go?
Bolt and play in this case. No need to reset or program anything.
Thanks for your quick reply! 🤙🏽 Doing a project this week or next... Might make a video of it 'all together'.
I have the nag1 trans on a 06 charger have the p2767 code going to check to make sure wiring is good first then if it is good i pulled the connector off at the trans and some fluid came out of it would i get that code from it shorting with that fluid in it. also if wires are good should i replace that whole conductor plate with the sensor or try just changing the connector if its leaking
Good vid , how do u get to the convertor solenoid ! Make a vid bout that ! Were is that solenoid located ? On body valve or in by convertor? How do u get to it ? Ty
Where's the TCC solenoid please in this valve body?
Where did you buy the gasket and filter at? I have a 2005 Chrysler 300C with the Hemi, i believe i have the w5a580 transmission
The majority of the parts I use are Mopar and from the dealership I work at. You can find alot of wholesale dealers on line that offer alot of parts cheaper then you would find at your local dealer. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
I cannot for the life of me get the NAG connector to “snap” into place. No matter how hard I push. It’s lined up correctly, the valve body is seated right
Kolay gelsin, 722.6 geri vitese taktığımda vuruntu yapıyor beyinden dolayı ne işlem yapmam gerekiyor
So all together how many quarts of transmission fluid did you put in? I put 4 quarts in should I add more? Level sitting at 40 when I put a dipstick in.
Where is the torque converter solenoid located
I would like to ask you some questions regarding this transmission on a 2007 Jeep Laredo, is there any way to reach you out?
So that yellow and black plastic is the speed sensor right? My car is stuck in first gear and my speedometer isn’t working, also when I go to shift from p-r-n-d it shifts pretty rough, cruise control don’t work aswell and I have check engine light. I’ve done lots of research and I keep coming to it being this, I’ve also asked lots of questions and lots of people lead me to this aswell. Could I get your input on it aswell. Thank you!
Hey ...did you ever find out what the issue was?
Hey, thanks for posting this video and others! I have a 2013 Chrysler 300S 5.7 AWD with NAG1 and I'm noticing when it's real cold outside (20 degrees or less), the transmission feels like it's slipping when it is cold. The RPM's rev much higher and does not really accelerate that well, until it warms up a little bit. Then it shifts perfectly fine. Is this normal/something you've heard of or would you recommend something? Thanks so much. Keep up the good work!
Wait so you have to actually take the valve body apart just to change out the input and output speed sensors???? Please no
They are inside the trans. The valve body has to be removed and just the upper plastic piece removed, the actual valve body doesnt need to be separated. Its not that hard a job if you follow the steps.
How much transmission oil you put
Do valve body it need programming
Hello. Should you shift through the gears while the car is idling, to make sure the fluid is the correct level too?
Its a good idea to get the fluid flowing everywhere and then back in park to check the level.
Hey Sir I saw your youtube video an is very educative. I have a 2013 Dodge Durango with this same transmission. It does have a P0741 code Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid. I am thinking to replace it by my self but my concern is a knocking noise in my transmission, could be possible that this solenoid could make that noise? Transmission is shifting pretty well with no problems, oil levels ok.
I havent seen the solenoid cause a noise so I dont think thats the cause of that concern in my opinion. There may be other issues going on. Another thing is its not normal or common for noises from that trans. Issues like driveshaft or loose output flange nut can for sure.
Awesome video man 💯 im having troubles with my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt8 it goes into limp mode im thinking and it doesn’t go over 30 mph ive got codes p0717 and p2784 any ideas in what it could be by any chance ? Thanks in advance 👌🏽
did it fix it
So for fluid levels as per temp of 170-180 on srt8 charger guage level on dipstik MM should rear 60-70 MM ? Is that normal wayto go by ? My car tc nag1 temp is 170-180 nd reads 60-70 mm on stick!!!
Excellent video. I have speed sensor fault code. Trans shifts 1,2, then stays in 2, I can't tiptronic shift at all but if I slide to neutral, shut off key, coast 2 seconds, restart car slap back into drive I get 4th or 5th gear 2200rpm at 70mph. So it seems to me that mechanically the trans is good it just doesn't have brain.. .Slightly annoying and inconvenient but I can drive 07 jeep commander 3.7 for now. I switched the whole valve body from a wrecked Cherokee, no change, no fix, same code no speed sensor. My speedometer works correctly.. scanner says no speed signal from either real wheel speed sensor but I assume those relate to ABS only.?.. Anyone have any tips..?? Also seems like I have improper throttle body limited power. I swapped throttle body, no change. I don't mind getting cheap parts from junkyard and parts swapping. It's cheaper and more trustworthy then most guessing "pro" mechanic's anyways. $25 valve body and $20 throttle body is still cheaper than $250 diagnosis. I'd rather keep trying cheap trys first and KNOWING what fixes it.
Do you recommend a complete fluid exchange with the machine at the dealer or do you just drop the pan, change filter and add new fluid. Do you have a video of changing transmission fluid for a 2012 Doge challenger? I would love to have you work on my challenger.
Both would be great at the same to time to make sure the fluid is all good to go. But if I had to start somewhere it might be the pan drop with filter. Having a clan filter is really important plus you will be changing about 5-6 qts when you do that. Thanks for asking and for commenting. Make sure to subscribe.
i have a problem with my tranny 2010 dodge challenger srt8 6.1L it wont shift at all it keeps on Gear 1 and Reverse thats it .
what could be the problem ?? no check engine nothing
It's odd that there are no codes but one thing is that you need to make sure the code reader/scanner can access the trans. control module. Usually if there is an obvious issue.....s code should set. Other items are making sure the fluid level is correct. Otherwise nothing is coming to mind at the moment. Thanks for the question....make sure to subscribe
HELP: I've done an oil change and now the transmission does not switch so gently anymore. I used the RAVENOL ATF + 4 fluid. The oil level has been checked several times and is correct. What can I do? How to perform a reset of the adaptation values of the transmission (2012 Grand Cherokee)? Thank you!
Great video....I was just wondering about something. I have developed a slow leak around the linkage arm that goes into transmission. Apparently there is a small seal around that arm.....this video addresses most of that job, but is it difficult to take the linkage arm off? Or is it an nightmare to get that thing back on and lined up? The part is $8, but the labor is around $400. So, I was wanting to see if it was something I could do. Thanks for the education.
+Big Daddy Evening, thanks for watching the video. I haven't had to replace that seal as of yet. The service info doesn't make any mention about the arm or the seal. I would think it cant be that hard once you pull the valve body. I wish I had more info but currently I don't. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
Awesome video will this work on my Dodge the reason I say 8 wont shift after it goes 3000 RPMs it just stutters it won't shift up thank you if you answer this awesome happy New Year
It depends on what the codes might be.....I would recommend having all the control modules scanned for codes. It requires a special scanner to access all the modules. Then after knowing the code....we can have something to check or possibly replace. Otherwise we are just guessing at this point and going at it blind.
MotorCity Mechanic I got P0700 p0121

Nice Video Thanks!
What problem or issue were you going after on this job? I have the occasional P0741 that happens at highway cruise mainly on long steady inclines at steady throttle 80mph.
Its been awhile.....I believe it was a speed sensor code.
@@MotorCityMechanic Thanks, you seen cures for the P0741 code other than replacing the transmission?
Hey my friend, long time subcriber here, enjoy your vids much, you have saved me hundreds in repair labor cost in the past. Question if you don't mind. I have a 05 300c 5.7, with a transmission issue. The issue is that under normal driving the car seems to shift into 5th gear TOO SOON..hence causing a slight vibration, ( like a manual would feel if you had selected 4th gear when you really need 3rd) tap the gas and it jumps back to 4th, start to curz again and in drops back to 5th when if feels like it should be in 4th.(city driving 35-45 mph) When i begin to slow down again the car seem reluctant to let go of 5th gear, you again hear all this vibration which feels like the car needs to start down shifting but it seems to slow or very lazy doing it. so, most of the time i just drive the car around town in with th auto stick set the 4th and the car runs as normal...before i get on the highway i put it back in drive (D) so as to have access to 5th and overdrive. but i know i should have to do this, Any ideas?? Thank you in advance.
I always like your videos. My only complaint with this one was the audio. It was hard to hear you over the din in the service dept. It was actually painful for my ears.
I have 05 jeep grand Cherokee and it dosent shift off of 1st gear and just gets the code p0700 would it be the conductor plate or solenoids? And I have had it parked for about 2 weeks and yesterday I turned it on and worked perfect and shifted gears normally but 15 minutes later it didn't shift off of 1st gear again what would be the problem?
I dont buy thermal fluid expansion being that big of a deal. Your gonna tell me a fully submerged valve body is gonna make a diff to a half submerged one (or a 1/4" diff give or take)? Gotta be tied into warrantee denials. Catch as many as you can!
Hello again. With the 40-50 reading on the dipstick. Is that at full temperature or cold?
Swapped fluid n filter on my 2010 charger 5sp after tossing a 4.0 into her. ended up on hot mark when cold, so added too much fluid.. suction gun on order, took for spin, punched it on a 90 corner and tossed speed sensor codes.. cleared, punched it on straight road, no issues.. any chance this is related to the pint or so too much fluid? thought odd toss code on a corner.. t case came up on display and was in a limp mode. was AWD car so had front suspension dropped to pull axles, swapped in a new axle at the time. did not expect to see trany speed sensor code when a t case error on display was shown to driver.. anyhow,, question on fluid level.. thanks..
P2784 was code.. just got car has spun bearing so only put few miles on her before motor swap.. thought was rocker issue so maybe 100-200 miles, trany worked fine prior to swap n fluid change... saw comments on it finicky with fluid level.. measured what came out but lost some when lines were removed during swap, and spilled some dropping pan.. so added quart more as pint came out first time with lines and puddle was decent size.. 1 of the 6 bolts gave me issues seizing to that pawl and of course the one 1" away from O2 sensor..
Question 1, I have a 2005 Magnum, a couple of times recently it has "kicked" out of gear after passing. The last time it did this, I brought the car to a stop, and when I took off it shuddered. Any Ideas?
Question 2, is there any difference between the stock dodge valve body and the AMG valve body? Also if I replace the solenoids and valve body with AMG parts will I need to have the TCM programmed?
First thing I would do is check the fluid level. The electrical guide bushing is known for leaking. If the fluid level is okay then I would also recommend having it checked for codes to see what the possible cause might be. As far as I know...the valve body is from Mercedes. When replaced.....no programming needed. Thanks for the questons. Make sure to subscribe and share the videos with others.
I have a 2007 Dodge Charger 5.7 and I need this part for the car. So when I buy the part from 1AAuto do I need to purchase anything besides the circuit
