This is what I wanted to do to mine never thought I would see a video like this but yes I would want the chairs to be able to come off so I can sleep in their now that I've seen this video I have some more ideas
Really nice build! I’ve got an Eskimo pop up shelter but you have me thinking about a flip shelter now so I can do something like this to it. The rear storage spot would be perfect for rod storage if you could section it off somehow.
Unfortunately we don't have any footage of the build process. If you have any questions, feel free to message us on our Facebook page, Northern Outdoors TV. Thanks!
My house is an older model and I don't think you can flip the bar the same way. The length of the bar is the full length of the outside edge of the sled. I might turn my bar on its side and give it extra support. Then I'll add a 1x4 around the edge and bolt it all down. I'll let you know how it works.
Would like to see the unit all packed down. My worry would be the fabric taking a beating not being able to pack down in the sled, and eventually hanging out of the cover on long bumpy drags across the ice? Do you guys pull behind a quad/ snow machine?
Nick Bowman it all packs in just fine. We do tow behind sleds or wheelers every now and then. No issues. Cover fits no different than it would without the mod.
How did you drill the holes for the cup holder so perfectly? Also how hard/ how much money was is to make? I love this and I want to do the same thing to my Yukon x thermal
Northern Outdoors TV thanks for getting back to me. I just wanted to see it down and if the cover fits like normal. My father in law just got the same one. But if you say it collapses like normal and the cover still fits I'll take your word for it. Thank you
47burgleflickle we plan on putting them on soon even though it will be a pain with the sled assembled...but it will save the sled in the long run. thanks for checking out our video!
Sorry for the delayed response Jason, we did not need to take the fabric off to get the plywood down. It got a little tight for the last inch or so but you can do it without removing it. Its a total pain to try and take it off, especially the rubber strip along the back.
Awesome mod! The metal bar on mine (Yukon) sits up 2" above the tub. Was that the same on yours? What did you do to make it sit flush with that metal slider bar?
Sorry about the late reply Andrew, we haven't checked this channel much during the summer months. What we did was take the bolts out of each end of that bar, and flipped/swiveled the bar upside down so it sat right below the tub lip. It might require you to drill another hole on each end. You just want to make sure you have some extra support between that bar and the bottom of the tub if you do flip it because you are taking some of the strength of that bar away. Hope this helps!
Ryan Rogers yeah we fished out of it a lot! I can't think of any complaints! If we had more money, maybe we'd add a battery bank or something like that to charge camera batteries and phones, etc.
We like to put it on top of the house after the cover is on. This allows us easy access to it whenever we get to our spots. If we need to travel a distance with it the auger would go under the cover.
Great job! Very professional and well thought out.
DLWhiting thanks! Stay tuned
That is sweet. I'm wanting to make a similar set up but with one removable chair so you could sleep on it.
Roger Stevens good idea!

That is fantastic. Really wish you would have recorded the process. I really think you should look to market this.
If we were rich maybe we would haha but we are all broke

Nice job well done good ideas
I would rig it so I could pull it with a Quad, pretty cool project though. Good job. It's not easy to have all the conveniences out on the lake.
Great video. Would like to see the build process
Unfortunately we don't have any footage of the build process. If you have any questions, feel free to message us on our Facebook page, Northern Outdoors TV. Thanks!
Nice work. About the nicest set up fish trap I have seen, I may have to copy your layout.
yjsuck glad you like it!
Nice setup! Very clean
DEAD WINTER thanks!
Pretty cool.
YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB
Charlie Ehrfurth thank you!!

Let us know how it works!
This is so sick!
Zakery Silva thank you!
Nice set up. How big did you make the hole for the 20lb propane tank and bucket?
We just traced around the top of the bucket and then cut. Same size hole for the propane tank. It was a standard 5 gallon bucket

Northern Outdoors TV ..... thank you for the reply! Nifty looking shanty!
Soda Pop !
How did you drill the holes for the cup holder so perfectly? Also how hard/ how much money was is to make? I love this and I want to do the same thing to my Yukon x thermal
Trace something the same size as the cupholders and use a dremel with a small drill like bit. I cant remember the cost
One thing I don’t like about it is where are you gonna put your ice auger! But very nice
We normally transport with a four wheeler or a pickup. We actually have built an auger rack on our wheeler. Video coming soon on how we built that.
That's a awesome setup. Any chance you can do a video with it collapsed. Also will the cover still fit
wickedmethods it collapses like it normally would. What are you looking to see in a video with it collapsed?
Northern Outdoors TV thanks for getting back to me. I just wanted to see it down and if the cover fits like normal. My father in law just got the same one. But if you say it collapses like normal and the cover still fits I'll take your word for it. Thank you

Nice job! Have you considered using runners? They made a heck of a difference on mine.
47burgleflickle we plan on putting them on soon even though it will be a pain with the sled assembled...but it will save the sled in the long run. thanks for checking out our video!
Did you find the insulated hut pretty much eliminates condensation?
Yes. Zero condensation except for on the windows.
Beautiful! Thanks, keep up the great work. Ice fishing is serious stuff.
I have a Clam x200 and looking to do the same. But, my support bar is not flush with inside of sled. Wondering if your support bar is?
Landen Buse we did some tinkering and repositioning to make the bar flush
Did you have to take the fabric off to get the piece of plywood laid down flat?
Sorry for the delayed response Jason, we did not need to take the fabric off to get the plywood down. It got a little tight for the last inch or so but you can do it without removing it. Its a total pain to try and take it off, especially the rubber strip along the back.

Did you glue down the marine carpet, or just staple it in place?
Staple
@@NorthernOutdoorsTV thanks. Did you use marine plywood?
How is this setup working out for you? Made anymore mods or changes?
Its working good! Haven't changed much
What size and type of hardware did you use to fasten it to the sled?
Just basic locking nuts, bolts and washers
Right on
Still waiting on ice in Wisconsin
Yeah I think we all are. Looks like we might get out around the 17th if the weather doesn't change.
Could I get the dimensions for the cut outs and lids. Great job. Thanks
We dont have the exact dimensions currently, but for the circle ones we just traced a bucket bottom
Have you fished out of it yet? Would you do anything differently if you were to do it again?
Ryan Rogers yeah we fished out of it a lot! I can't think of any complaints! If we had more money, maybe we'd add a battery bank or something like that to charge camera batteries and phones, etc.
Are you guys pulling that by walking or using atv/snowmobile? No spot for the auger?
Gue Thao we pull it out every so often, and lay the auger right on top, or else we drive out on the lake with our trucks
Northern Outdoors TV that's cool. Nice work by the with the setup
Where does the auger go? Fit in the storage?
Usually just lay it on top
I was wondering if you had a supply list or a how to video. My father in law what's the do this for his house.
Thanks
wickedmethods 1/2" plywood, hinges, indoor outdoor carpet.
I'm doing the same to mine this week I'd like to see your support bar how you supported it underneath thanks
Just flipped it upside down so its flush with the top of the tub
how much does the whole thing weigh?
Around 140 lbs. Although, you'd have to add weight if the propane tank is full and is also depends on what exactly you have in the tub.
how could I do that to a one man
Just have to customize it to size.
By chance you know the measurements of the plywood?
Chase Reisenauer no, sorry. We just got a 4x8 sheet and measured from there.
Northern Outdoors TV I have the same shack and trying to find the a sheet of the indoor/out door carpet long and wide enough..
the point of a portable is to be portable. dont that make it hard to fold up and move around?
No. Maybe If you're weak or from Wisconsin
@@NorthernOutdoorsTV lol just curious wanted to do something similar. thanks. not from Wisconsin , a bit weaker than I used to be.
@@benmarx1179 hahaha I was joking. It's a bit heavier but it isnt bad. Everything folds up easy still
how heavy is it :)
Not too bad :)
Ok smart guys, where do you put the auger? You capped all the storage with plywood. Uh...
We like to put it on top of the house after the cover is on. This allows us easy access to it whenever we get to our spots. If we need to travel a distance with it the auger would go under the cover.
No shit
