  • The TA2 Muscle Car series heads to Winton Motor Raceway in country Victoria for the fourth round of the 2019 season. This round saw the introduction of a top ten shootout and also a longer final race of the weekend, producing some great racing. With Nathan Herne starting down the field after dramas in race 2, the fight was on for the youngster to drive through. While at the front Seton and Miedecke were at it again battling for the lead, with Andrew Miedecke, Ashley Jarvis and Simon Tabinor all producing some great racing in the minor placings.

    This is a great series, the cars look like what nascar ‘cup’ cars should. Would prefer to have correct brand engines for each car type, all they need for parity is to control the electronic throttle to keep things even and costs down. Great commentary and racing, loved it👍

    How different are these cars under the skin? Are these just spec cars? Are the motors manufacturer motors?

    Great looking cars. Gotta love when Australia out-Americas, America... :D This is literally what Nascar should be (with non-spec engines of course). We have some of the best race tracks in the world...and keep Nascars on ovals (and wonder why it's struggling!). Put something like this on our road courses.

      Trans Am... as in Trans America, its an american series amd these are the tier 2 cars that they offer in a franchise system around the world.Ta1 is is tier 1 and they are 950hp. Australia obviously has a super awseome field though

    • @ThunderAppeal

      Sorry, I was wrong.
      Upon closer inspection I see they are all basically tube framed cars with GM engines.
      So I'm going to go ahead and pass.

      It's been that way for a long time.

      -Tasman Revival Series
      -Aussie Racing Cars
      They do most types of series better over there.

    So these cars run a 6.2L GM engine. Why not set a cubic inch limit and let the manufacturers develop their own engine? Competition was good, yeah, but only one engine. Where's the fun in that?

    I wonder if GM in Australia is the same corporate welfare queen as they are in america. How do corporations receive billion in corporate welfare while making billions in profit. Where is a free trade market when this is allowed to happen?

    • @2005blackpearl
      @2005blackpearl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, not any more. Our Government said to GM and ford back in 2013 “since your really not spending the billions we have given you in taxpayer funding wisely, no more in the future”. After which to exact revenge both companies killed our car industry. No more Australian made commodores or falcons. GM bought the Buick Regal to Australia and put a Holden badge on it then called it the commodore. It is currently as popular with the Australian car buying public as Harvey Weinstein would be on the women’s rights speaking circuit!

    • @2005blackpearl
      @2005blackpearl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Hamilton well it cost us 250,000 jobs roughly so while it has saved my state money, the states which manufactured the cars are still struggling to find some of those guys and girls work. Which is sad for them.

    • @tomhamilton9140
      @tomhamilton9140 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2005blackpearl Sad not everything good happens in a free market when government picks those that win and those that loose. Most of the losers are the little guys that try to do it the correct way without the handouts.

    • @2005blackpearl
      @2005blackpearl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Hamilton well that being said there are still many here who question the wisdom of the Australian government of the time’s decision to withdraw government support, considering it cost literally hundreds of thousands of jobs both inside the car factories and in the companies that served them. I can imagine based on what we saw here the big 3 would be too big to fail in the US. If those companies failed in the US, I imagine millions of jobs would go as well. And think of the social implications. Didn’t a certain president get into power promising to revitalise US manufacturing (whether he has succeeded is another debate entirely). It’s hard to revitalise manufacturing anywhere in the Western World these days without direct government intervention of some sort.
