@@MrReToP he did with the .50... However there is an even better option for .50 - the NM140 MultiPurpose, known in the US as Mk211 Raufoss, or even better the tracer version..
I think the reason you did not get ignition on a lot of these is that there was not enough oxygen mixed with the fuel while the ignition source (incendiary projectile) was present. When you try this again, I'd suggest double tapping. First shot puts the hole in whatever you're shooting allowing the fuel to come out and start mixing with air and the second one ignites it.
I was thinking the same thing - double-tap as you need some time for the fuel only to mix with enough oxygen. Another way to look at that is the dwell time of the ignition source. In the instances where the projectile either went all the way through or perhaps in the case of the 22lr didn't have sufficient incendiary material, you don't have enough time with the ignition source in proximity to the air/fuel mixture. With standard ammo, as is often depicted in the movies, the odds of a spark at the right time is pretty low, especially on the round that first pierces the container. But with incendiary rounds you don't need a spark off the target - but you do need to keep that ignition source in proximity.
Should’ve shot a secondary round into the gas clouds. Myth busters did an episode a long time ago. Basically if you can’t get a spark into the escaping gas, most things won’t flame up. Loved the intro! 😂
With the propane in particular, it can displace all the oxygen and then won't ignite until enough oxygen mixes back in. I think Ballistic SloMo did something similar shooting dragonsbreath at balloons filled with propane and it didn't light for a bit while the air mixed back with the propane
Maybe put what ever he's shooting at (if it's thin enough like the spray cans) in front of a steelplate rested on the table, it could be enough to kick the incendiary stuff to ignite the gas escaping the can right in front of it. I'm not proof reading this, lemme know if that made sense😂
Seeing you film a video for demo ranch at the property you're currently renovating has me looking forward to what is in store from you Matt. Not only do you have a resort going but now you could potentially have people out to your land and also give them a chance to come see one of these videos being recorded live. Great stuff. The sound at 6:53 is very familiar to me. I first heard it in the early 1970's whilst finding a shortcut to stripping plastic from copper wire for scrap value. It's the sound of burning plastic as it drops to the ground while still on fire. I've got a couple of scars from doing that, back when burning plastics wasn't seen as a heinous crime. Edit: This was a few years before plastic 6 pack holders existed and at least 3 years before tear tabs became common on beer and soft drink cans. Yeah, I'm getting older! 😝😝😝
I mean probably been told this but you should put one of those metal plates behind the bottles so that after the bullet goes through it the bullet will have a hard back to hit and go off while the gasses are still flying through the air. We have seen others try this experiment and they all have the same issue as this one which is only a few will ignite.
Thought the same thing before watching him take the first shot. You have fuel, but the bullet itself against metal cylinder is less likely to cause a spark for ignition. More likely a "poof" than a fireball. ***and then he brought out the incendiary rounds***
50 BMG Blue Tips will ignite a propane cylinder right good like. Every time. The API don't seem to play nice with full cylinders as they flash inside the liquid fuel....if you use half empty ones and hit them above the liquid level they'll have a better chance of ignition.
I believe whats happening is they're not reaching the right fuel-air mixture before the incendiary material has burned out, or passed it. It could be suffocating the flame and depriving it of oxygen in contact.
Exactly, the fuel/air ratio is not leaning out enough before the tracer is gone. If he double tapped almost all of that stuff would go up. The MAP is working because it has an oxidizer mixed in.
On most of those the fuel mixture is too rich. The heat of the bullet is way past the gas by the time it reaches a flammable mixture of air and gas. A closer backstop or secondary ignition source is needed.
That’s how I set the field next to my parents house on fire when I was a kid. Thought it would be sweet to shoot an “empty” paint can with a pellet gun next to a small fire. Well, it was out of paint, but the little remaining propellent turned the can into a small rocket.
Having set off multiple SimpliSafe security systems at several different properties, I can confirm they're monitoring. Staff will talk to you through the cameras. They also don't believe you when you tell them you're just there to do the pest control work and ask them nicely to shut the alarm off so you don't get a headache.

Matt’s intros needs to start coming with a content advisory at the beginning. Sitting at my desk eating lunch, surrounded by coworkers and naturally pull up the new Demo Ranch episode for my meal enjoyment. 45 seconds in and a naked Matt busts out of a van. Almost choked
Like Steditex said...You needed to fire a second incendiary right after the first to light the fuel. The first round is gone by the time enough of the fuel is mixed with the oxygen in the air and able to burn.

Awesome video and awesome new range!! Loved the slow-mo! Do you think tracers would have worked better than incendiary for igniting the more stubborn stuff? See you next week, can't wait!

Matt, two quick things to think of. 1) fire requires heat, fuel, oxygen in the right ratio to creat the chemical chain reaction. 2)with any vapour or gas the is the upper explosive limit (UEL) and the lower explosive limit (LEL) Long and short sometimes less is more. Sometimes a half empty bottle will boom better than full.
While your theory is correct, at the edge of every vapor cloud there is a perfect oxygen and fuel ratio. There will always be a perfect ratio somewhere in the mixture.
He did set a couch on fire on his tennis court and had them show up. He was probably like "Just call me if you hear about smoke, i do a lot of stuff with fire"
Very cool video awesome new range! Probably would get more of that fireball if you’d put a Steel plate behind it! The initial spark happens before the fluid can touch it you need to put something hot to actually start the fluid
I think the most impressive thing of this video is how robust the gopro is! That thing was engulfed fully by flames several times and was still running just fine. Also with the propane tanks, we used to do that all the time in Nevada but we’d put a little candle or something burning next to it to ensure it’s gonna go “boom” lol
I think to help with the pass-throughs you could put a steel target right behind whatever you're shooting at, that way you guarantee it hits and lights right behind the flammables!

Loved your skit. Leaves the van with Mouser, a gun, and the naked walk of shame. Laughed so loud I disturbed my cat. Can't tell you how much I love watching stuff blow up!! Thanks, Matt. I needed that violent action for my seasonal depression. Great video. Love this shit. I did feel bad for the little tree. Don't hurt the trees Matt. Please.
The 20lb tanks probably didn't light because there was so much fuel released at once it pushed the surrounding oxygen out of the way and by the time the fuel and oxygen mixed well enough to burn the spark from the incendiary was out
This is exactly it. When I was a volunteer firefighter we did training with LPG and Propane cylinders opened at the valve to learn about fuel/oxygen ratios - pointing the gas spewing out directly at a naked flame would not ignite, nor did having it too far away, with the stream of gas slowly moved towards the flame the mixture got to that "just right" point for ignition and oh boy did the ground shake when it did! EDIT: this was all controlled by the way, don't try at home! We all had full level 2's on and fighters on standby with hoses to help get the valve closed after a burn.
I came here to say this - you need to let the fuel mix with air before igniting it, so wait a few seconds then throw in a couple more shots to set it off.
also, its a 50 round, i think it over penned, other wise the trail, from it would of ignited from a distance because the ratios, of oxygen and fuel, it is an incendiary rounds.. they just dont go out.
I needed this video Matt. It's been a hard 2 weeks. My wife had heart surgery. It's been extremely stressful. So thank you for the light hearted gun shooting content. It's great as always and the open video skit was amazing as always. Had me laughing instantly. Thank you.
@@el_chappito_204 hey thank you I really appreciate that. She is doing amazing by the way. Surgery went smooth. We got home today from the hospital. She is walking and off the oxygen. Tough girl for sure. Thank you very much for your kind words.
Hey Matt, another great video. If you’re interested the technical name for the flaming molten plastic droplets are “vfoot vfoots”. Name was derived in the 1980’s when my buddy Barry and I as teenagers specifically built models just to destroy them with fire and explosives. In our research the plastic from models were okay for producing the sound but blow molded plastic milk jugs produced the best sound.
We need a part 2 with more flammable liquids and gasses and like has been said plenty of times already tape the cans to a steel plate after you put mulch on top of the rocks to darken the background so we see the fireballs alot better
I wonder if Tracers would have done any better? Could theoretically provide ignition after the gas is released, unlike the incendiarys which would provide ignition at point of contact. I'm no scientist by any means, but seems like it might work better. Love the idea either way, something I've always wondered about from seeing movies where people would shoot propane tanks and they just immediately level the block.
For things like the brake cleaner you need to fire a second shot through the expanding cloud, quickly before it goes away. Your first shot goes through too fast; nothing is in a flammable mixture. A second shot will catch it once it's mixed with air and light it up.
Best flipping 😂 intro yet! I live off of the major street in town where people walk by on a constant. I just startled a few people with my outburst... Thank you Matt, truly, thank you for that monent!
I've said it before, but I'll say it again. You've really stepped up your intro game recently. I saw that coming, and it was still solid funny. Keep up the good work, you're doing a heck of a job!
I used to shoot paint cans when I was 12. They only seem to explode if you have a fire nearby, because the escaping gas rushing out needs to be ignited. Almost took an exploded paint can to the face, once so uhh...my favorite saying comes to mind: If you live in a glass house don't throw stones, without proper protection.
I have seen the video where he tests bullet/epoxy plates. Is that the one you are referring to? I guess that's sort of the same thing but I still want to see him shoot at laded mags for some reason lol@@parzavaal5335
Air fuel mixture is what may be affecting explosions. Match will go out if dropped in cup of gas, but pour on to large pan and will easily start fire. Explosion if fumes in enclosed space. I used to be a fuel tech in USAF.
9:50 that’s true. Both brake cleaner and starter fluid are very flammable. Maybe try and tape them to the steel plates? That way if the incendiary doesn’t ignite from the can, it’ll hit the steel target. Then, the surrounding gasses should definitely ignite
There’s also non flammable brake cleaner that many people have accidentally bought because it says “nonflammable” in really tiny letters. I’m pretty sure that’s what he bought.
Awesome video! But the reason some of the stuff like the propane didn’t explode is because the rounds are moving too fast, and not causing a spark off the container to ignite. The gas inside. Or they’re moving too fast and the heat from the round isn’t getting a chance to ignite the fuel. If you shot the propane tanks with the cmmg dissent I think they would actually explode if they penetrated
I shot a febreez can before with a 12 gauge slug. Surprisingly the can just bent. I hit it with bird shot next from about 10 feet away. Ended up catching a piece of shrapnel in my arm. Lost a good amount of blood and a chunk of bone from it. Was pretty cool. Would do it again but farther away next time. Love these videos.
You should do an episode testing things that definitely shouldn't be used as body armour, like where you see what will stop a bullet, but instead what will cause the most extra damage
The key to setting off most contained flammable agents is two shots minimum. You need to have an appropriate air-fuel mixture, and even using incendiary rounds won't help if you don't have the oxygen content to sustain the flame. That's why the minimal round order is ap-incendiary, but preferably ap-ap-incendiary on a 3 round burst. It allows enough oxygen to mix with the fuel that the incendiary round can ignite it.
Man I miss when you used to fill shotgun shells with random things and shoot them. I’ve been here since the beginning of your channel. It’s been awesome watching it grow over the years. Congrats on you and your families success.
In case you don't know, you can use regular propane in a MAPP gas torch, but you can't use MAPP gas in a regular propane torch. It'll melt it. My Bernzomatic MAPP torch is one of the best tool investments I've ever made! And like my Granddad always said: "Tools aren't an expense, they're an investment." 😁 That last one: When I worked at Sears MANY years ago I was one of the first four people to open up on Sundays. Usually the first one to get there because I lived closest. One Sunday I walked to the loading dock and there was a STRONG smell of propane! Someone had brought a tank back with a leaky valve and just left it on the dock! I carried it out to the middle of the empty parking lot and opened the valve and let it empty. Didn't think to light it but was more concerned that people would smell it and think there was a gas leak somewhere. 🤔
Should have put a steel target behind them, that would ensure ignition. I agree with you matt, the tagets just might not be hard enough to ignite the incendiary. Watched this when it first came out, just rewatching some good clips with new knowledge lol.
22:44 - I think the table made by Fireball Tools is quite fire resistant (despite the name), and with a name like that it's fairly appropriate for your channel. But I'm not sure you want to haul one out there. On the plus side, it'll make it a LOT easier to secure things to your table.
You mean the fixture table? or does he sell another kind? Kind of a waste if its just going to hold targets, though it could be a cool collab, and i would be one of the 1 inch thick tables is damn near indestructable.
The fact that you think any of that had any appreciable impact on the environment is laughable. Go bitch to China or India. They produce more pollutants than every other country on earth combined.

Can't tell you how much I love watching stuff blow up!! Thanks, Matt. I needed that violent action for my seasonal depression. Great video. Love this shit. I did feel bad for the little tree. Don't hurt the trees Matt. Please.
Or the lorax is gunna get you!
The trees can't be harmed if the lorax is armed.
screw the trees🔥🧨
I have been watching your videos for almost 3 years now
Matt getting slightlier and slightlier less safe for work every video is hilarious to me
Too many guest appearances on Unsub lol
Slightlier
@@Tomy_Honk Slightlier. (rare, literary, dated) comparative form of slightly: more slightly.

@@forrestking1760I imagine all that propane suddenly depressurising would have a significant refrigerating effect.
I think for the propane tanks, you should shoot a second round after it starts to aerosolize, it will be much more flammable at that point.
😂😂”Billy is NOT COMIN INTO WORK TMRW 😂😂
LEGEND-INSPIRING- THX MATT!
I needed this video Matt. It's been a hard 2 weeks. My wife had heart surgery. It's been extremely stressful. So thank you for the light hearted gun shooting content. It's great as always and the open video skit was amazing as always. Had me laughing instantly. Thank you.
Prayers to you and your wife, hoping for a speedy recover❤
@@el_chappito_204 hey thank you I really appreciate that. She is doing amazing by the way. Surgery went smooth. We got home today from the hospital. She is walking and off the oxygen. Tough girl for sure. Thank you very much for your kind words.
Loving the new content on the new range Matt and friends! Pray it brings in all the glory you're wanting to! Much love guys&gals!
Yes. Melting plastic milk jugs certainly make that sound!
HAHAHA that was hilarious
19:42 is the single best clip I’ve ever seen of fire. Amazing!
We need a part 2 with more flammable liquids and gasses and like has been said plenty of times already tape the cans to a steel plate after you put mulch on top of the rocks to darken the background so we see the fireballs alot better
My favourite skit ever made by Matt can’t stop laughing well made 😂
This video took me back to the OG demo ranch days… loved it Matt
Threatening Matt with killing a cat when that’s his super power 😂😂
The unsub enjoyers know better 😂
Man that range is looking beautiful. That Peterbilt is gonna pay for itself 10x over w all the work u can put it thru
Problem with movies is you never see the attached dynamite
You probably needed a striker plate just to help the rounds to give their best with the targets. Alternatively, a nice steel welding table.
i think a steel table is a must
For things like the brake cleaner you need to fire a second shot through the expanding cloud, quickly before it goes away. Your first shot goes through too fast; nothing is in a flammable mixture. A second shot will catch it once it's mixed with air and light it up.
I know 'cause the Mythbusters had to do that to get a 5 gallon propane tank to blow up.
Which incidentally you needed to do that if you wanted your propane to blow up too.
Best flipping 😂 intro yet! I live off of the major street in town where people walk by on a constant. I just startled a few people with my outburst... Thank you Matt, truly, thank you for that monent!
We need an only vans shirt after than one
I've said it before, but I'll say it again. You've really stepped up your intro game recently.
I saw that coming, and it was still solid funny.
Keep up the good work, you're doing a heck of a job!
you could see he wasnt nude in the reflection lol
@@JackT-es5beso u are sad now? Already got the willy out and all and than the disapointment.. or how can I understand ur useless comment?
😅.
How many intros do you think he's been naked in 😂
Definitely need to do quick follow up shots or have a flare next to the compressed gases!!
I've been watching you for years and years It's awesome to see your progression That range is top-notch way to go Matt
Many plate carriers feature front pockets to hold extra mags. I would like to see a video of how "bulletproof" loaded mags are.
th-cam.com/video/gz3BCg53g2A/w-d-xo.html
Hes already made a bullet vest video tho
Brandon Herrera has too
I can officially say, they are not frag shrapnel proof.
I have seen the video where he tests bullet/epoxy plates. Is that the one you are referring to? I guess that's sort of the same thing but I still want to see him shoot at laded mags for some reason lol@@parzavaal5335
those safety goggles are so stunning and brave
@@somebodyelse5820 Oh damn I didn’t even think about that, great point
And when Matt came home with more guns and a cat, all the wine in Texas vanished within a single day.😂

@@mrreetmake May it rest in peace.
Yes.
The cat is now scarred for life
Awesome video!
This intro was hilarious. You simply can not miss the beginning of these videos.
I like the fact that Matt's "less flammable range" is the one with a mulch wood floor
But also a layer of ground down rock ontop of mulch wood floor
I shot a febreez can before with a 12 gauge slug. Surprisingly the can just bent. I hit it with bird shot next from about 10 feet away. Ended up catching a piece of shrapnel in my arm. Lost a good amount of blood and a chunk of bone from it. Was pretty cool. Would do it again but farther away next time. Love these videos.
Matt- sees the explosion, realizing shrapnel could come back, as he notes missing his range shield.
Matt 2 sec later- " alright let's up the caliber!"
As it should be. Matt ain't no bitch
Billy will definitely be taking a sick day from work 😂
You should do an episode testing things that definitely shouldn't be used as body armour, like where you see what will stop a bullet, but instead what will cause the most extra damage
*unclips propane armour*
The key to setting off most contained flammable agents is two shots minimum. You need to have an appropriate air-fuel mixture, and even using incendiary rounds won't help if you don't have the oxygen content to sustain the flame. That's why the minimal round order is ap-incendiary, but preferably ap-ap-incendiary on a 3 round burst. It allows enough oxygen to mix with the fuel that the incendiary round can ignite it.
The intros are always hilarious 🤣
U know the video is going to be good when the intro is next level 😅
Thanks Matt, the end of the intro made me spit beer all over my living room, laughing so hard.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man I miss when you used to fill shotgun shells with random things and shoot them. I’ve been here since the beginning of your channel. It’s been awesome watching it grow over the years. Congrats on you and your families success.
Great video and love the excellent intros lately. Need a part 2 to this at least. Enjoy the new range!
I don't think I have had this many tears coming down my face from laughing in years!! That was epic!! Thank you Matt for the laughs!!!.
Thats not excessive
😂😂😂😂the intro😂😂😂😂 my cat just had an emergency vet visit and she’s in the hospital until Thursday. This made me feel better.
Matt was definitely put on a watch list for walking into a store and only coming coming out with things that are explosive/ flammable
In case you don't know, you can use regular propane in a MAPP gas torch, but you can't use MAPP gas in a regular propane torch. It'll melt it. My Bernzomatic MAPP torch is one of the best tool investments I've ever made! And like my Granddad always said: "Tools aren't an expense, they're an investment." 😁
That last one: When I worked at Sears MANY years ago I was one of the first four people to open up on Sundays. 🤔
0:19 Khajit: I do not fear death human, I merely embrace it.
This definitely gave me old DemolitionRanch vibes and I love it! 😎🤘🍻
matt low key wanted that kitten to teleport back home
First time in a while I’ve seen Matt in a dangerous distance from exploding shrapnel 🤣
Idk how crazy Matt is about the new range……
@@yankees29 I wouldn’t like it either, way too much room for shrapnel. He atleast had trees before now it’s just luck
@@bradybrown4432 probably gets hot as heck with no trees also. And he kept saying it was too bright.
You need to put some dark mulch or some kind of ground material to darken things up some. Great video.
I realized how bad the contrast was after my post. It will take a little time, but that is all getting covered in grass when it is done.

Do you all think Matt should be a massive underground concrete shelter on his resort / ranch???
And connect it to the caves
@@jusonn9922 that would be awesome ! Thanks
I think matt should be a massive gocart track
Should have put a steel target behind them, that would ensure ignition. I agree with you matt, the tagets just might not be hard enough to ignite the incendiary. Watched this when it first came out, just rewatching some good clips with new knowledge lol.
22:44 - I think the table made by Fireball Tools is quite fire resistant (despite the name), and with a name like that it's fairly appropriate for your channel.
But I'm not sure you want to haul one out there. On the plus side, it'll make it a LOT easier to secure things to your table.
You mean the fixture table? or does he sell another kind? Kind of a waste if its just going to hold targets, though it could be a cool collab, and i would be one of the 1 inch thick tables is damn near indestructable.
the skit at the beginning is me with the snap-on truck guy
You can tell Matt really loves the environment
it's Texas and he's on his own property, so do what you want...
It’s okay, he cleans everything afterwards by spraying the ground with liberal tears.
Worthless electric cars are worse for the environment than what Matt's doing, quiet snowflake
The fact that you think any of that had any appreciable impact on the environment is laughable. Go bitch to China or India. They produce more pollutants than every other country on earth combined.
Who cares
That was awesome how the fire would go around the GoPro. The good thing is that you have your own fire truck.
