Exactly i also have observed the same about Lt gen hooda...he behaves like a true officer..unlike others who after retiring just say anything on news channel.....his calmness is just admiring

gen hooda n nitin lethal combination for SF lovers
Great discussion with of one of the more dignified & respected General's.
He clearly says :
SS 2016 Was unique (first time) in terms of Scope and Scale
1. 70-80 (+/- 15) Total Casualties inflicted( Terrorists + Pak Soldiers)
2. More than 100 Indian SF soldiers involved, 6 attack sites spread over 150-250 km
3. All targets at different depths (from LoC) & were attacked at different times (separated by as much as 6 hours : 12 midnight to 6 am)
4. All targets were relatively deep & well behind Pak forward defence positions
5. After Burma raids in 2015, DG ISPR had said that IND won't dare do something like this Across LoC.
Hence Pak Army was too Shell Shocked after this SS & hence refused to acknowledge it out of their humiliation & embarrassment.
His other points :
1. He supports 370 abrogation as it was the right step towards nation building. Can't have 2 constitutions & 2 flags
2. Certain channels actually fueled further alienation (NDTV ?)
3. There is Growing religious radicalization in youth. When you send stone pelting youth to jail, by the time the come out they are radicalised.
4. There is no Deradicalization programs or camps by Indian government (they should be there)
5. Pakistan raises nuclear bogey as their conventional forces are MUCH weaker than out forces
- Lessons learnt from 2016 SS :
1. Cleared cobwebs in our minds on whether we can do complex large scale operations across the LoC. Gave us options that yes we & our special forces can do such challenging ops without casualties.
2. Has suddenly increased range of options for india on how to deal with terror attacks
3. One SS is not going to stop Pak from doing what it's being doing for long. This pressure on Pak Army has to be sustained (which we are doing through artillery, shelling & raids).
in 'His Other points', #2. - One side is NDTV and the other side is RepublicTV.| NDTV is the most watched news broadcast in the valley. While, Republic deepens alienation(many times) especially when a local militant gets killed.
The channel sometimes create unnecessary hyper nationalism by putting rest-of-India against Kashmiris. Such programs widens the gap, especially when a local boy gets killed during CT/CI operations.
Having said that, NDTV is not far behind creating doubts in minds of a Kasmiri by giving selective/false information.
Lessons learnt from 2016 SS,#1. Cobwebs in terms of decision makers, political class, some in the army. The Forces are always prepared for any ops. It is the political and bureaucratic will that has changed now, even against China's bullying.

Stories, Stories and Stories but no proof. What a Strike. It was nothing more than a Bollywood movie. More than 3.5 years/45 months have passed and still counting but no proof yet so ever and it will never come because no strikes took place.

@@varunv.chadha492 the central government has always followed a policy that as long as pakistan is targetting kashmiris it is alright because we outside kashmir are safe. present government has continued the policy except that they have created a more concentrated target for pakistan to focus on, separating other parts of kashmir from them. overall the policy still is that a dead kashmiri is better than a dead non kashmiri. no one in the central government has the courage to give pakistan the whole of india rather than only the kashmiris ad its target. pakistan will not be defeated till it finds that the entire india is its enemy and not just kashmiris.

Salute to our brave soldiers and to all non-aligned defence officers, fully respect their commitment and efforts to ensure our geographical boundries are protected. But sadly, officers are now being forced to be siding with Political rulers, which was not the case, hence the question comes of proof of action
Gen Hooda, one point on Pakistan raising the nuclear bogey -- I think that the Pak Army knows that we know they have nuclear weapons - that message is much more for the International audience - they are trying to get attention!
Sadly, the surgical strike was to hoodwink simple-minded Indians. it never took place. No evidence was ever shown except by word of mouth.

You seem to be a complete novice. There are people 'in the know' and Nitin is one of them. He is not one of those ranting media reporters. He has written and spoken vastly on these issues. His knowledge on strategic and military affairs is commendable. If he was a nobody the retd.Cmmdr. wouldn't have been welcoming of his views. In fact, both were complementing each other.

Only you couldn't find him because you might like watching prime time screeching competitions. Nowhere was he taking credit or hinted at that. He is explaining the situation from a diplomatic and political point of view whereas the military aspect is answered by Gen.Hooda. You seem to be perturbed by Nitin's presence there whereas Hooda himself is allowing him to complement his answers. I know it's NOT and won't be clear to you.
