    As others have said on your other vids with this bike, a 125cc equivelant would be ace, but would def need a little more range as well... which I guess would then make it heavier and less fun and also more expensive.... It does look very cool, I could easily commute on this, but I do have a 50mph stretch of road that would be quite intimidating at 28mph

    This would be perfect for a courier or handy man in a city. Outside of that though, you're better off just having a pedal e-bike.

    This kind of bike seems like it would be right at home, where they do segway tours.
    I remember riding my Honda Zoomer like this, over any bank I could get it up. Bit of grass?! Fuck yeah, let's go!. Straight over the roundabout island... No, never... Loved that thing. . It only did ~30mph until it got derestricted. Also used to skid to knock it out of gear at the top of a really long straight here. I got it to 65 once. Gods that was scary.

    Why did they limit it to 27 not 30?

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because they want it to be a 50cc equivalent, legally they are limited to 28mph. By doing this it can be ridden by 16yr olds on a cbt and more importantly for this bike older people with a car licence that allows them to ride a 50cc with no need for cbt.

    I suppose we should address the elephant in the room.I see hundreds of these style of bikes in central London every day being ridden by the various food delivery companies.They just take the number plate off a ride them like a normal e bike.I was sitting at a set of lights in Chelsea last week next to a police area car and we both got smoked off the lights by some dude on a 72V Sur-Ron and the police did nothing lol.I mean the guy didn’t even have the pedal kit on it to make it kinda look like a legal e bike.
    Now I’m starting to wonder how long I could get away with having a 72V Sur-Ron for my local woods.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a growing issue and if history tells me anything as soon as it becomes a big problem they will crack down really hard or legislate and regulate to the point they are not so attractive. The laws that are in place now mean if you did ride one of the illegal ones and a cop decides today is your day. The repercussions of that would not be light, so is it really worth the risk? Not saying I agree with the current rules just they are there and they can use them.

    • @ThePrivateRusty
      @ThePrivateRusty ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spicy110 Agreed.I think they’ll start to do something after there’s a few deaths.I don’t know if you notice but those 2 crashes that have killed 3 young lads that’s been in the news lately where the police have been involved in a chase both from what I can see from the CCTV footage were on SurRon style bikes.

      It is in the context of trying to push the limits of range. I think for many who would by this that is not going to be as much of an issue. Would be better for all though if it just said a %

    the advantage of normal ebike over ubco, you can drive it on cycle lanes, the ubco looks more like ebike than motorbike, but people are idiots and i know lots of people that dont ride bikes in cities anymore because of the danger, and now with the congestion charges they simply dont go shopping in cities at all. so local shops/towns or just online shopping. if city cycling was safer, perhaps more people back in to suport physical shops. main problem with cyclists on the road is the lareg packs of cyclists, when they are serevral bikes wide, thats fine when you can overtake, but when they are several wide, and long with gaps in theres no time to overtake, this is a common problem and does cause car vs cyclist road rage.

  • @clangerbasher
    @clangerbasher ปีที่แล้ว

    It needs the ability to switch off a motor.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get the idea, i though hmm can you do that. but then I though why would you? you will just work one motor to death before the other.

    • @clangerbasher
      @clangerbasher ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spicy110 Because you would use less power. Perhaps it would need clutches or something so more expense. Or a larger motor aft and smaller helper motor up front. Just a thought. It is very interesting.
      It is becoming clearer to me that we need 50cc with a 40mph limit now. And the motor size for electric bikes upping to 1kw with hand throttles.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet you would use more as you would need more torque from one motor which means amps and that kills batts fast.
