Learned about the box and ordered it right away. It came 2 days later and so quickly we've gone from feeling like making something like this is way out of our reach to knowing that we can and will actually do it! Amazing, thanks so much!
I just watched Ayra's (@BentleyHouseMinis) unboxing of this recently! Love watching all this amazing creativity flow between creators. A quick note: as someone with fibromyalgia and neuropathy, I understand the difficulty your wife faces every day. I pray she's improving
Great to see you back Neil! I agree that the builder's kit is amazing. Highly recommend!! It was so much fun seeing it come together step by step. Boylei gave your kit a shout out as well in his latest video so that's high praise indeed! I love that this community is so supportive and wholesome to each other.
Thank you for pointing out Boylie's video! Such a great dude and that is very high praise indeed, this truly is an amazing and supportive community.❤️ And, I absolutely LOVE seeing the positive feedback like this from those who've purchased a box. Absolutely makes my day. Thank you so much for your comment. :)
Awesome build!!! I am excited to try the plaster technique you showed here and great tip on wetting it first before adding the aging. So happy to see you back creating on your channel! I always learn something new from you!
Neil's back!! I was so happy to see that you posted a new video. We've been thinking of you and patiently waiting for your return. Hope all is well now, take care.
every time you have a new video my spouse and I text each other immediately to see who watches it first!! We have been building the #RTHBuildersKit the past few weeks and it is THE BEST! It's so fun!
This is still one of the, if not the, best channels for this hobby. This inspired me so much, though I am still very far from having made anything at Neil's level.
I have purchased the builders kit and I can totally recommend this for any creator on your Holiday list! it has been totally over produced and believe Neil did himself and his channel and all who follow him proud! This was interesting to see you add the magnets! A great idea for switching between environments!
So happy you're back! Almost every week I always look for one of your videos, "Maybe Neil posted something!" I'm so glad your video popped up today! I really want to get your builders kit, but I don't have the space to spread out lol. Anyways, your fans have missed you and we all wish you and your family the best!
Hey thank you so much for the very kind words. Totally understand on the box haha. Thank you again, really nice to read that and see that you haven't been forgotten. Cheers my friend.🙂🍻
Always happy to see another build of years, glad to see you back at it :) Still have to start on the Blacksmith, but after watching this video I know my problem. I lack your confidence in the process. You know what, the builder's kit has been on my shelf for long enough, I will start on it tonight (gives me an argument to skip doing the dishes another day).
Haha yes! Exactly, little by little, you can do it!! You may doubt yourself at times but I know you've got it in you. Starting with a small practice piece for things like plaster and whatnot goes a long way too. you got this ;)
Glad to see you getting joy from building this tavern. When the upper floor has stone walls as well, the building looks like an upper-class home. Like the townhouse of a merchant.
Hey, if you want to stain stuff with coffee, there's a trick to it. Yes you can put very strong coffee on it. But it will likely stain it faintly. Spritz with water. Pack wet coffee grounds onto the places you want ot darkest. Then paint on some of the coffee. Enough to wet the surface and the grounds a bit. Let it set until it's almost dry. Then clean it off. The grounds will leech out a yellowish brown. It looks great and very natural. The bad parts, 1) not a lot of control with where it goes or how dark it is. 2 ) Because you are packing it on and letting it sit, you can only work one side of the building at a time. You could probably mix up a brown wash and it would work easier/better.
Great to see you back and posting your incredible videos. That building with the interchangeable wall panels is a piece of art. Looking forward to watching more videos from you. As a dog lover I must say you have a great looking pup.
After months of having your builders kit on my wishlist I went and brought it. All I can say is it is the best kit I have ever seen and only took 6 days to get to New Zealand, Thankyou for putting this together.
I'm so glad you're back. I missed your creations big time! Whatever happened is passed and I truly hope you are well, happy and rearing to build us more fantasy minis than ever before. ❤️
Great to see you back! What a fantastic project - really want to try something like this for Mordheim. Thank you for the mention and I’m really looking forward to seeing the ocean you’re working on - all the best!
Hey thanks for stopping by man, and better late than never. :P Loved your build btw as well as the video, really great work.❤️ I hope you plan to make more builds and vids for the channel man. A Mordhiem build would be sick! :)
I'm glad to hear things are getting better for you and your folks (and Ralph). Channels like yours are like an oasis, a nice and relaxing spot in the crapstorm the world is turning into those last years. Happy hollydays Neil!
Great to see new videos! I'd love to see a kit with just the materials and not the tools or even just the templates. As a builder, I already have a lot of the equipment.
Epic build that is modular in a whole different way! If I may be so bold, an effective way to stain wood or plaster with coffee is to use quadruple-strength instant coffee, the cheaper the better.
keep up the good work, even though it's close to Christmas do take the time to enjoy time with family and unwind for a bit so that you don't burn yourself out
Funny I was just wondering what had happened to you and your family, great to see you back to making videos, it would be a waste to not use your artistic talents.
YOU CAN DO IT! Small steps, little by little. You've got it in you even if you don't think you do, I promise! Thank you, and I hope the same for you and your family as well.❤️
So glad to see you back! I was just looking up your channel yesterday to see if I'd missed an update. Very happy to see a new video today. Hope all is well!
crazy idea, looks great, and nicely proportioned, too. ^^ "Your house looks like mine, only that facade is different..." - "Well, I asked your architect." as for magnets, I've found very small, rather strong magnets on the lids of cardboard boxes that mysteriously snap shut. aftermarket car parts, electronics stuff, maybe even sweet bakery boxes can have those. you just have to dig them out of the cardboard... XD but yes, never throw anything away, you never know what detail it can add to your build or diorama. :)
I have been using XPS foam and the shingle cutting jig from Shiftling Lands (quickly cut shingle strips) and it makes putting on shingles so cheap and easy. The houses I finished up recently look incredible with them on. Cutting is so easy and I have been going around odd shapes with multiple dormers. It still takes a while but has to be a lot easier than dealing with MDF strips.
I hope you're doing well Neil. I was browsing through your videos to get some ideas and get into the mood for building again and that worked out. But it would be awesome if at some point you start to upload new videos again, they've always been amazing.
Woooooaah I love the magnetic swappable sides, what a cool idea! I always love your sort of stained glass windows with the diamond pattern panes, they look so beautiful. Definitely can't wait to try out some cork, it looks really great as stone. I've already told you, but the Builders Kit is seriously so well put together and the amount of thought that you put into it is just mind blowing. Love seeing all the different projects you have put together with it~ Will always find so much joy on your channel!

There is actually one question I have about the materials included in the builders kit, and you may have said it in the video, but do you have enough materials to make both the tavern in this video and the blacksmith? Or would you need to build one then get extra materials for the other? I'm a beginner to the realistic crafting world so I wanted to practice with the blacksmith then move onto something a little bigger which is why I'm asking! Thank you so much, and once again I must say that you create stunning work my friend!

Hey, great tip! I'll definitely have to give that a try. Sounds like the leeching could make for some really great and natural effects!🙂🍻
Man, what type of dog is Ralph? He's so cute! Great vid!
he's a Miniature Dachshund-Chihuahua cross 😁 And thanks! :)

Thank you for the very kind words :)
Wetting the surface before adding the wash is a really clever idea. Hard edges in the wash is always a problem. Gonna need to try that later.
Hope you’re doing ok, Neil. Looking forward to seeing more content and the progress on those massive waves from your previous video. Stay safe!
Take all the time you need. Our wellbeing is extremely important.
Beautiful work
Glad to see you again ❤😊❤

Was just wondering if we would see you again.. Hope you are well.. and great to see another video

Hey mate. It's the tannin in the tea that causes the effect you're after. Unfortunately coffee only contains about half the amount as tea.
Hey, good to know! We're going to have to give it another go then with the tea this time ;)🍻
