I even have a good title for it: *Scar: The Lion King*! This sequel could use a similar flashback style, with Scar or Zira narrating to Nuka or Kovu about that time.
Kiros (the white lion) seems to be the lion villain I have always wanted. He seems like a scary, savage, beautiful warlord. As for Scar, why not just make the scar a birthmark that he was named after? Who names their kid "trash" (Taka in Swahilli)? And who gives someone a nickname after an injury? That would be like calling an amputee "stumpy". His scar should have just been a birthmark so they named him after it. Honestly I have an idea for something, it’s unlikely but let me cook. Okay so I don’t see what Simba could’ve done with Kiara that would relate to the story he’s telling her if we’re getting a set up for it at all, but if we are I think I have a better idea. What if Disney actually folds in The Lion Guard series into this Live-Action verse, with Kiara having an argument with her brother Kion, it ends with her throwing her position as heir to the Pridelands in his face. This film should have a dedication to James Earl Jones, the voice of Mufasa in the original Lion King, since he recently passed away during the making of this film. Better yet, they should have had him do a couple lines in the movie.
I think this whole Mufasa being an orphan thing is stupid. I don't see the point of this angle. There has never once been any inkling that Scar and Mufasa were not blood brothers. It made their story all the more impactful to know that Scar would kill his blood brother and nephew. The orphan thing just makes it seem less of a terrible betrayal honestly, and now Scar fans can try to justify his actions too by saying he was technically reclaiming what was his birthright. Just dumb.
Maybe, but it can also be seen as more tragic seeing Mufasa and Scar treating each other like Blood Brothers but they ultimately aren’t and seeing Mufasa get betrayed by someone whom he loved as a brother and Scar renouncing the notion. Plus the Pridelands isn’t Scar’s birthright nor is that he pride so it’s free game

While yes there are some improvements in this film that we see compared to the remake of The Lion King, I unfortunately don't think it'll review well, but may do financially well for sure if the first film was any indication. Critically speaking I think it'll still lose out to Sonic 3. We'll just have to wait and see.
One thing I wonder now is if Kiros will play a role in turning Taka against Mufasa because if you see the prior trailer, there is a shot if you pause, it is like a POV shot where it shows a white Lioness in front of Kiros in an attack animation, if you do look at his side, Taka is at Kiros's side, it makes me wonder if he is gonna also be influenced by Kiros because lets also not forget in the prior trailer as well, Taka encounters Kiros and his pride in the Mountains during a snowstorm. So I do wonder if Kiros may try to play into his mind trying to turn him against Mufasa and state how Taka has become just a lonely outcast while Mufasa has everyone's love and support or something that will play into Taka's feelings and insecurities. It could be a possibility, Kiros strikes me as not only strong asf but also very cunning and smart as hell, it would make him more interesting rather than just being a brute conqueror, no doubt he is gonna be a tough cookie and just by looking at him, we see he has the muscle to back that up, and he is not going down easy against Mufasa but he looks like he knows how to play his cards right, I wouldn't be surprised that instead of attacking Taka, he has other plans for him and tries to manipulate Taka, maybe even giving him an offer to join Kiros's pride. Driving a wedge between the two seems like something he would do and whatever Kiros would try to put into Taka's head could ultimately Taka could end up believing Kiros was right about in the end when Mufasa is crowned king and has Sarabi as his mate. I think after his encounter with Kiros in the mountains, Taka is gonna start to descend into darkness more and more and become more colder towards Mufasa and the group.

Not to be that guy, but does anyone else remember the fan-made DeviantArt comic from years ago where the plot was quite literally centered around Simba's ancestors fleeing from a pride of murderous lions and establishing the Prideland? Did Disney read that?
Whats bas is that its on same day as sonic 3 so Yea, may look awesome but audiences will choose fast boi hedgehog than epic story of the most legendary lion king mufasa
I don't doubt this will make money, but I'll be shocked if it breaks a billion. The first film opened to almost $200 million domestically, but Disney says they're hoping for this to open to at least $66 million. Even they know it won't be as big.
To be fair that is a super early prediction (and didn't came from Disney themself as far as I know) which was made even before the last trailer came out now and before marketing really got rolling. On top of that this prediction goes only for the US while Mufasa seems to attract a lot more people overseas (at least when I'm looking at the trailer views and compare them with other movies. And we have like no information at all how much interest this movie generates in China. As a reminder the 2019 remake grossed over $500 million there alone). So I wouldn't give it much thought yet. I think Moana 2 had a similar prediction at first and went way higher now the closer the movie gets. And even if it stays like that it wouldn't be the first movie with such an opening and still grossing over a billion. Aquaman for example did the same. On the other hand there were movies which had predictions with over $100 million and still flopped later like the Little Mermaid remake did. So all in all that has to mean nothing.
What this new trailer shows....okay....but to me it still looks too much like a desperate and disappointing cash-grab movie instead of one that I'd want to watch, while Paramount keeps doing stuff to successfully prove that Sonic 3 is a movie that is definitely more worth watching than this wrongly made one is.
i am looking forword to see this movie but in the same time its annoyed that the movie is about rafiki telling the story about mufasa and scar to kiara special since the movie is proberply inspired by the book called tales of the to brothers to a young lion named kopa wich have become my favorite in the who lion king franchise i love to see him in the movie perhaps as a older brother to kiara and future king
The story is very similar to Transformers One. Go watch Transformers One man! Then when you watch Mufasa The Lion King, you may only want to watch it again because of hilarious moments, and the hype might run stale.
I think both will do well to be honest. I do think that if you ask the average middle aged parent about what film they’d rather sit through with their kids for an hour and a half, I can imagine most will choose a lion king prequel over a sonic sequel simply because of the concepts. To a parent that’s grown up with a film like the lion king (a Disney masterpiece!!!) compared to a blue hedgehog that runs fast… to parents the lion king will appeal more I think - even if it’s no where near as good a movie.
NGL, I do feel like it's kind of a waste that Disney's had Beyonce and Lin-Manuel Miranda on these films for the music, but I really think Disney could've used them better for animated musicals instead (preferably an African fantasy film with HUMANS).
✝️Rest In Peaces🪦 for 🖖🏾Both🖖🏾, 🦁🤴🏾James Earl Jones🇺🇸& 👻Ken Page🦁 too!!!! Which, they’ve actually passed away 2 months ago on September in this year’s 2024!!!!
Is this movie was tooty animated? I probably would watch it, but because it's a another live action Movie Of an animated, throw Ag I red or not watching. In the theaters.
Idk if it's just because I draw a lot, but this movie still looks so bad to me. It's little nitpicks, but it adds up. One big thing is that the expressive faces are going to feel jarring pretty quick in the movie because they're trying to make it as realistic as possible, but that then means you cannot have a lion emote like a human. They really needed to take a page out of the Narnia movies. I'm not paying to see this schlop because I want Disney to go back to stylized animation. Hell, I want 2D again, but that's never going to happen. And this may be "original", but it retcons things too. I want something actually original again. Pixar is trying with Elio coming out soon. Pixar makes remakes to get new ideas to hopefully be a landslide, but for it to not be so bad if they do fail. Disney is doing the same, but it's just more greedy, especially since they have the ultimate say for Pixar.
A Disney Live-Action remake? Promising? 2024 really is the craziest year ever

This movie went from “it looks terrible” to “it looks okay” and honestly I think it might be good
(I’m still watching Sonic 3 tho)
disney they cannot stop - white lion bad, dark lion good ..
Dont forget Xera
This movie is really promising🙏
Can you please do a review of the movie called wolfwalkers?
Yoriichi and Michikatsu at home.
To be fair the book series canonicity was always dubious at best, and though this may be inspired by the book it’s clearly a far different tale
The story is very similar to Transformers One. Go watch Transformers One man! Then when you watch Mufasa The Lion King, you may only want to watch it again because of hilarious moments, and the hype might run stale.
0:38 Like Cruella because it cannot be a bad Remake if it isn't even a Remake
2:17 yeah the fans and hater help them make money
I dont care if you guys argue with me and say otherwise, but to be honest, i like the cgi stuff more.
Sonic 3 is gonna smash this monstrosity
I think both will do well to be honest. I do think that if you ask the average middle aged parent about what film they’d rather sit through with their kids for an hour and a half, I can imagine most will choose a lion king prequel over a sonic sequel simply because of the concepts. To a parent that’s grown up with a film like the lion king (a Disney masterpiece!!!) compared to a blue hedgehog that runs fast… to parents the lion king will appeal more I think - even if it’s no where near as good a movie.
I meant in quality
NGL, I do feel like it's kind of a waste that Disney's had Beyonce and Lin-Manuel Miranda on these films for the music, but I really think Disney could've used them better for animated musicals instead (preferably an African fantasy film with HUMANS).
and yeah pls the mufasa film loksl ke through the story a little adamption of the one book
✝️Rest In Peaces🪦 for 🖖🏾Both🖖🏾, 🦁🤴🏾James Earl Jones🇺🇸& 👻Ken Page🦁 too!!!! Which, they’ve actually passed away 2 months ago on September in this year’s 2024!!!!
100k🎉🎉🎉🎉
not really a remake since its an original story
Is this movie was tooty animated? I probably would watch it, but because it's a another live action Movie Of an animated, throw Ag I red or not watching. In the theaters.
I'm not gonna watch The Movie I'm just not interesting
Mufasa The Lion King is Not going Well, Disney had to shut off the Compliments because of the Back lashes. Enough with the Live-Action Movies 😒🙄🤦
Am I the only one that’s actually excited out of my mind for the white lion villian. This could be the best villian since faciler!
I'll give it a chance, but this movie is in all honestly probably gonna flop. If not just for the reason that it comes out the same day as Sonic 3
Go watch Sonic movie 3 instead!
Still hate how it looks so I won’t watch it. I never even watched the original remake.
Also Mufasa and Scar not being related by blood is dumb.
The added facial expressions isn’t enough? I’m guessing that you wanted this to be 2D Animation instead, right?
Where 😂 sora
Their voices irritate me.
