Welcome aboard! Yeah i feel like most of the halo content over the years has been gameplay/lore/Machinima. Where is the narrative community building aspects? That’s what i want to bring. Storytelling mixed with community building ideas.
Really thought you had it there at the end. It was interesting to hear your thoughts on jumping and sliding, as I think they have their place as well. But I think my interest in the series is seeing if you can do it; and I know we're all here rooting for you!
the next handicap should be no reloading until the clip empty my guy busted 2 fights back to back trying to reload 3 bullets (one burst) into his BR =P
@@billylion3073 I don't know too many people who don't have this problem. I do it too. Sometimes I have the opposite issue and use up all my bullets, then screw myself in a kill.
@@lucidphusion true :) a good rule of thumb is if you have 2 kills worth of bullets you dont need to reload if you cant get 1 kill in 8 shots you are 100% dead anyway and if you are thinking yeah but multi kill the BR has 3 Kills worth of bullets in a clip, drop 1 shot and at most you can get a double kill with out reloading so 24 bullets is a good reload threshold. As you get comfortable with it you will start to judge if you are even likely to spend the full clip before you die on the next play and things like that and to always have a 2nd gun in your pocket
If you wanted to be really strict you could maybe change the button mapping and remove jump, sprint and slide. I don't blame you for reintroducing a little sprinting here and there though if you want. You've already taught me a lot!
LOL I don't know what those words mean but I'm going to take them personally XD Bro, with a map like Catalyst, it is SO hard not to use mechanics because the map is SO upscaled compared to classic maps. Such a rough couple of games. Seeing them take that last hill hurt. It will get better!
@@DoddsMcFodds nah don’t torture yourself. I think you could keep your dedicated sloth account but change your rules, similar to how Shyway suggested to you a few days ago. Just very intentionally play slow. Minimize but don’t eliminate jump and sprint. Just try to only do it when it’s necessary or something. Comparing your sloth matches to your non-sloth matches could be interesting. I think what you’ve got going for yourself here is the originality of the initial sloth concept and, very importantly, how well you’ve done your story telling and video editing. If you could keep doing a video-by-video story, as you do with these ones, I’ll stay engaged. If you could turn it into a series with a longer storyline, I’d be even more engaged. But if that doesn’t come naturally, you could just start with minor stories on a per-video basis.

I think we must stay the course brother! I believe it can be done. But maybe instead of full blind skull for punishment, you restrict certain abilities for that game, like no pinging, no using pickups, no comms (or maybe you have to give wrong/bad callouts lol), no grenades, play on m&k, etc. Perhaps you put all these in a hat and draw at random for that game? That way you’re still hamstrung, but not completely a liability not having a HUD? Great stuff either way!
It's sooo hard to keep comming when no one else is. Still loving these vids! I think you're right, maybe only incorporate s,s &j when necessary. Afterall, you're mostly a liability to your team with no hud. Just my thots.
Good video regarding of the more frequent rulebreaking. However you should go and count those strikes. However maybe you should count one strike per game instead of 1 per instance
@@DoddsMcFodds If you ever want a guinea pig to coach and refine your teaching style, I'm game. Last season I hit plat 1 for like a game, slid to gold 2, then hovered in around gold 6. I've been doing better with S3 since I got a new monitor with a better refresh rate, and paying better attention to my game, but all my friends tend to walk away and venture off into high plat and diamond. They play with me because I'm fun and honestly not really that bad. And I stream and they like to watch my Vods to review team play and comms etc. At any rate, your channel is SUPER entertaining and helpful, and I appreciate the cinematography and references to the old Red vs. Blue series. Bravo!
Noted and definitely interested. I think i will need to get a good system in place to facilitate the logistics. Do you know others that would be interested?
@@DoddsMcFoddsMy buddy that I play with a pretty much daily likely would be interested (He's bouncing between high plat-mid diamond) I've also been "coaching" my daughter, (11) and she's come lightyears in the last few months. I would imagine she would be interested and I would be supportive of encouraging her to pursue something she enjoys like this. So you have three distinct skill groups you could try out. I understand of course that you may not be interested in coaching a silver-gold child, and absolutely no offense would be taken if you decline. I could always just keep coaching her myself as I improve.

Man love these videos. I would say that you should be able to jump objects, not fights, just for the purpose of climbing, sloths do climb, and I hate to see you walking ramps and over exposing to lines of sight when you could just climb around things. Also, can you share a controller mapping? That tip of having pin in the left stick is super useful
If I were you I would try to pick up the mangled or disruptor more. They are both very viable side weapons. I'd say the disruptor is really good too because you have a good aim and you alwady have your reticle at the ready so it can be very good for killing opponents. And even if you dont kill them, the shock damage will weaken them for your teammates

I hate to say this but you may have to expand a little beyond Halo given its recent controversies but you have awesome tips, interesting gameplay (which is saying a lot considering the most interesting parts are literally just you jumping) and fun dialogue
i don't know, but you might still be able to review that game, if you log in with spartansloth and go to the theater to review the last games. it would be interesting if he was just expecting a player to be there, or if he is tracking other players through walls while they move.

As long as he frags, plays objective and gives good comms, that's better than what most players offer. There's so many people that screw around too much, are AFK, have no mic or do have a mic but don't want to communicate. I had an idiot the other day get mad at me for giving call outs?! Like what? We're suppose to give call outs, we're suppose to have teamwork. It's a lack of comms that loses games but he was mad at me? It amazes me how dumb some players are.

You can claim anything is mental since having a poor mentality will make you suffer but you Tbagging a guy who you kill because he killed you previously hints at a weak mentality in YOUR game, and in no way guarantees that you'll weaken his game in any way, shape or form. Stop promoting the idea of Tbagging as some sort of mental warfare. The majority of the time a person Tbags when they've been mentally affected by a video game death. Which is weak.

Dodds what fov do you play on?
I think in this series it was around 106 but I’ve moved it up to like 98
Best fov is 90ish to 110 anything lower or higher the aim assist isn’t as good. I played on 120 and even just switching to 110 my aim went up about 5%
