Maybe we'll get a whole series of USPS vehicles... as a former USPS worker (not a carrier), that would make me happy. I've never been treated nearly as bad by any other employer as I had by the USPS (at two specific locations, anyway). 😃
Those things are old vehicles now… some of them are powered by the old GM Iron Duke 2.5 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed automatic transmission. Slow but they last in that application.
They are a Grumman LLV... the first one made in 1986 and the last one was made in 1994... Yep, they are very OLD. 🤣 - no, not a postal nerd, I was curious and just googled all of that.
Not as bad as it sounded and definitely some salvageable bits!. 18:45 : the hammer is for making sure the packages are well and truly destroyed before the customer receives them. Nice Light Emitting Diode work light, How many individual LED bulbs does it have and how long does the battery last for?. I have two twin tripod mains work-lights one LED and one halogen (I keep the halogen one around because it's sturdy old tech and it makes a bloody good on-site heater during the winter and unlike the LED ones, the bulbs are easily accessible/replaceable, not that i have anything against our good old glowing diodes ) they are good, but neither are battery powered. .
FYI, Every railroad crossing has a placard with a phone number on it. You call that number when there is a problem to stop a train. The earlier the better. Then back that call up with a 911 call.
Nope, not all of them. Many of them do, definitely not all. I've read this comment many times online and started looking. I'd say about 90% of them anywhere I drive regularly do not have any such number.
Hey Dustin, Love the videos! Can I ask what was the point of the first snatch block? was it to keep the cable straighter on the spool? Been operating a flatbed for about a month and was just curious. Thanks!
@@DANNAWALLACE They also have vehicles that deliver just USPS parcels. I see them when we visit my Mom's house. If there are a lot of packages, such as around the holidays, packages are in separate vehicles than the letters.
130 in the morning is after it was recovered and it was Investigated by the railroad police and train moved. Wreck could have happened at 6 pm but nothing is allowed to be touched until railroad police are finished. And they might be coming from a yard a few hours away.
Why in the world is a mail truck out around midnight Somethin seems kinda strange 🤔 Looks like from those tracks that thing rolled down there then fell over
" MY OPINION ONLY" How in the world did that person get stuck on the train track, unless the person was looking away not paying attention 🙄 But most of all, maybe on the phone 😮 Thanks for sharing!😊
It got stuck in the loose gravel going over the tracks…there is only a few houses back there and it is a small gravel road…the postal worker had help on the way when the train appeared and of course he had to get out of the truck.
Why would you assume any such thing? Also, a postal worker would get fired immediately if caught on the phone while driving. All railroad crossings aren't perfect, such as this one as described by the other commenter... also, vehicles break down. I've seen several cars breakdown on tracks in my life. Sometimes they are too heavy to push and sometimes you can't get them into neutral, such as the newer cars with electronically controlled shifting, which is stupid. :)
The train didn't hit the car,the postal vehicle hit the train just by the way the front end is on it,hopefully the employee list his job but i would bet no way that's why the post office loses millions if dollars every year 😂😂
The postal vehicle was stuck on the tracks and the driver had gotten out long before the train arrived. So, it seems that the train did hit the postal vehicle.
Never a dull recovery for Dustin, thanks for taking us along.
Yeah 👍 another video thanks you’re the best
You could say that train...went postal 🤣
The dad jokes prevail 😂
The night cameras are working great! Enjoy your work Brother! Keep up the great job!

So confused why a mail carrier is out that late. Great job and good morning Dustin.
Holiday mail season
Getting stuck in sand doesn't seem so bad after all......

Not a good week for post office trucks.
Dustin you are making old men noises when getting in and out of your truck.👏👏
Buenos días Bendiciones 😀👍💪
Looks like the week of the mail trucks
A lot of work, but it's a great job
Great video Dustin. Thanks for all you do. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

@ given the identification number on the back, that particular one is from 1988… 36 years old!

love our videos so much.
That is a professional at his best.
At least it wasn’t the all electric mail trucks that they have
R.I.P. Little LLV
Your new camera and lighting is great, bewt I have seen on TH-cam.
Glad no one was injured!! What brand of flashlight do you use in your recovery work?
Hope it wasn’t the same driver? That would be a really bad week! Hope all are 👍!
The RR dispatcher said, "You hit a what?"
😂

Great advice. Thank you for sharing this information with us. 👍👍

Not all, most.
No wonders my Christmas cards didn't get to my family ughh post office darnit 😅
9:15 I thought there was plenty of light. 🤷♂️
Is your mail being delivered by truck or train?......we don't know !
LLV mail carrier again 😮 I'd say there isn't a joke in there anymore😂
Hey Dustin, Love the videos! Can I ask what was the point of the first snatch block? was it to keep the cable straighter on the spool? Been operating a flatbed for about a month and was just curious. Thanks!
I wonder if this is the same LLV Mail car Dustin just recovered from sand in video the other day? 😮
Did they save the mail?
Well, I guess that's why they left sand and trains out of their motto about what will stop the US Mail.
👍👍👍👍
I guess the mail will be late.
My question is what’s a postal truck doin out at midnight in the middle of nowhere!! 😮
Delivering Amazon packages, it happened around 930pm
Just like UPS FedX USPS has next day delivery and overnight delivery.
@@DANNAWALLACE They also have vehicles that deliver just USPS parcels. I see them when we visit my Mom's house. If there are a lot of packages, such as around the holidays, packages are in separate vehicles than the letters.
None of those companies offer overnight delivery
😊👍
Delivering mail on a Sunday? Hmmm
They do for over night and express mail or special delivery.
Lucky driver wus ok
28:39 1:30 am? How long were you there for?? What the heck is a mail truck out that late for?? Take it to the bar haha jk.
Delivering Amazon packages
@ For usps, I can see during day but wow 130am for usps is late. They don’t do that around my area.

Hope not! 😅😅

The accident happened hours before. It took them that long to fix the train so it could move.

the mail-truck was stuck on beach, now got hit by train USPS can't catch break
Couldn't the officer get the VIN by running the number plate through the system?
Find the plate on a mail truck, I dare you lol

Same truck stuck in the sand?
Different truck.
"Gets pulled out of the sand......then 45 mins later gets hit by train....."
The boys won't believe how my route went today......
@@jimv77 Lol
Do you not look forward to go and collect a vehicle when you get there they are still expediting the person out of the vehicle
