Are you also going to check out the cutscenes from the Union Cross mobile game, the youtuber Everglow has a video where it has all the important cutscenes and no Disney filler except for one world which is more connected to the plot than the others. Hope you check it out since it'll be very important in the future of the series and has some importance with KH3, but not a whole lot luckily. Can't wait to see these videos though.

mickey losing his shirt represents the trials and tribulations that effect us all. loves and loss. pain and happiness. joy and solemn atonement. the fact that, even shirtless, mickey continues to fight for what he believes is breathtakingly beautiful. it is sumptuous poetry at its best. his shirt being torn to shreds is truly the fragmentation of this passage. what a brave little guy. aqua's pretty cool too i guess.
It's slightly dumb tbh lol. His silhouette in KH1 shows clearly enough that he is in his classic outfit. I think I might would have preferred them editing Mickey's KH1 model to have the 0.2 outfit instead of the garment conveniently coming off. Not quite as jarring as Terra defecating the Lingering Will cape in 2.5 BBS but man lol

"A Fragmentary Passage" is probably my favourite Kingdom Hearts game (along with 1 and 2): I know that it doesn't last long, but the beautiful tragedy that is the journey of Aqua, the fact that she spends 10 years just wandering in darkness and facing her deepest fears and regrets, alone, without a soul to save her... this right here is really dark s**t, and it's told in a magnificent, uncompromising fashion.
The darkness is 200% supposed to be depression. I had severe depression for 10 years and aqua is definitely me when I first had it. You start out trying to fight it and push through the darkness and thoughts, but eventually you become like riku and embrace it. When you're in it your brain adapts and the darkness starts to become comfortable in a weird way. I got out of that place but I still sometimes miss it in a weird way. There is a certain comfort and safety in just not caring about anything. I think they did a great job with riku's character because I act exactly the same as him. When I see him in a group of people all having fun you can tell that he is struggling to enjoy the moment like everyone else. I hope that one day I can enjoy life and express myself like I used to. Going from being Riku to being Sora might be too ambitious for me, but hopefully I can get close.
PS: I LOVE how youre talking about Aquas character arc and how much shes suffering.....while shes wearing fairy wings and cat ears lol the duality of Kingdom Hearts
I think the ultimate tragedy of the Wayfinder Trio is that their bonds really weren't strong enough to fight off Xehanort's manipulations and lies by themselves. They didn't know enough about each other and themselves to really achieve a victory.

Finally, we inch closer and closer to Leigh getting to experience 3. I’ve loved watching you and DeeBeeGeek play through the whole franchise. It’s just as fun as when I introduced my baby brother to the series and watched him fall in love with it.

I get serious Silent Hill vibes from the Realm of Darkness. It almost feels alive in how it seems to psychologically change and torture it’s residents.
I suffer from emotional detachment. So my reaction to most things in any game, show, movies are a blank stare. Leigh allows me to live vicariously through these videos

I managed to avoid that mentality since I played the games out of order, starting with Chain of Memories of all things. It let me come to terms with simply not knowing or understanding the story and details of it in it's entirety, and made theorizing and guessing what it all meant and how it connected all the more fun. That magic never left me even after KH3 whereas I can tell it left a lot of people after that game. I only wish more KH fans could feel the same way but I do understand why a majority of them don't
I just finished this game and as soon as I finished it I ran to watch this video. It was truly an experience. I feel so sorry for everything that Aqua had to face, and I wonder what will happen in Back Cover and in KH3. I don't know why, but as soon as I saw Sora in Fragmentary Passage, I started tearing up. He's so pure, so genuine, so brave. I wish I just could give him a hug, idk. He deserves everything. Tomorrow I'll start playing Back Cover and when I'll finish it, I'll watch Leigh's video. So, I’m sure you know this by now, but I’ll say it anyway. Aqua’s time in the realm of darkness spans 11 years. The Secret Episode of BBS and the first three areas in 0.2 span the first 10. This is why she runs into Mickey near the end. They find the Keyblade, get separated, and we see KH1 end. Another year passes and Aqua then winds up at the beach where the “Blank Points” cutscene with Ansem the Wise happens. It’s not super clear, but obviously the 11 years did not feel like that long to Aqua. Aqua even states that time moves differently in the realm of darkness. It was most likely a couple weeks since she looks the same (and she’d probably be dead since there is no food down there lol). Still terrible to be there that long though.
I love streamers like Leigh. I get to experience these games all over again and see these beautiful reactions similar to what I had from a different point of view :')

He saw her about 2 years ago. During KH1. Not the best, but to be fair he and Riku were pretty busy. Plus it makes sense hed try and get Riku out first than bring him further into the darkness on the off chance that they could find Aqua.
I'm joking. But still, Michelangelo Rodent acted like Aqua didn't exist for the longest part. Also, he did meet Aqua before she was sent to the dark realm.

King Mickey and Riku, two keyblade masters, were in the Realm of Darkness for all of 5 minutes before having their keyblades damaged/destroyed. It's supposed to be a crazy dangerous place, and it's insane that Aqua lasted so long in there. Of course, Sora then proceeds to just steam roll through it because he's Sora.
@@Riku70X Exactly. The Heartless are much stronger and almost infinite in number in the realm of darkness because it's their domain. That's why it's so dangerous there and that's why Mickey never said anything.
Leigh's reaction to the graphics reminds me of when I first played Shadow of the Colossus on PS2. I spent hours marveling over how fluidly Wander and Agro moved. I thought we had reached the pinnacle then. It's laughable now but it does make me wonder what games in the future will make us think, "I've not seen that before."

The final 0.2 trailer ended with this clip (31:56 - 32:02) and let me tell you we all SCREAMED when our baby showed up. First time we had heard his voice in half a decade. That clip of Sora saying "I'm back!" lives rent free in my head. Kingdom Hearts was BACK BABY! Super excited for you to watch X-Backcover next!

Yeah, that wait after Dream Drop was brutal. Especially heartbreaking was when they announced the remasters. I remember when I first watched that announcement video I thought we were finally getting 3 and instead we got the remasters. I felt so sad lol

When I first played this game I had almost the same reactions… I couldn’t believe they made such a drastic jump. The graphics in this game were amazing for its time, especially for Kingdom Hearts. This tech demo really shined. Square Enix did a great job fleshing out Aqua’s adventure/story. I love watching your content and am always eagerly waiting for your next video(s) :)

I've been binge watching all your reaction videos of KH and I think I cried more than you did just because I'm like "SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW YET" and then when you find out things it just makes my heart feel things and blargh ahhh point is I'm loving your videos. He saw her about 2 years ago. During KH1. Not the best, but to be fair he and Riku were pretty busy. Plus it makes sense hed try and get Riku out first than bring him further into the darkness on the off chance that they could find Aqua.
I'm joking. But still, Michelangelo Rodent acted like Aqua didn't exist for the longest part. Also, he did meet Aqua before she was sent to the dark realm.

The opening of KH3 is why Mickey never went to try and rescue Aqua. King Mickey and Riku, two keyblade masters, were in the Realm of Darkness for all of 5 minutes before having their keyblades damaged/destroyed. It's supposed to be a crazy dangerous place, and it's insane that Aqua lasted so long in there.
Of course, Sora then proceeds to just steam roll through it because he's Sora.
@@Riku70X Exactly. The Heartless are much stronger and almost infinite in number in the realm of darkness because it's their domain. That's why it's so dangerous there and that's why Mickey never said anything.
Leigh's reaction to the graphics reminds me of when I first played Shadow of the Colossus on PS2. I spent hours marveling over how fluidly Wander and Agro moved. I thought we had reached the pinnacle then. It's laughable now but it does make me wonder what games in the future will make us think, "I've not seen that before."

Becomes even sadder to learn that she entered the dark realm ten years before KH1 which means technically by 3 she has been in there for 12 years about. So over a decade.
The final 0.2 trailer ended with this clip (31:56 - 32:02) and let me tell you we all SCREAMED when our baby showed up. First time we had heard his voice in half a decade. That clip of Sora saying "I'm back!" lives rent free in my head. Kingdom Hearts was BACK BABY!

Yeah, that wait after Dream Drop was brutal. Especially heartbreaking was when they announced the remasters. I remember when I first watched that announcement video I thought we were finally getting 3 and instead we got the remasters. I felt so sad lol

It's crazy to see someone break down each moment of each game the way I did, but actually sit with that emotion instead of push it aside and continue before fully processing what's happening. Oh God do I wish I could experience this series for the first time again.

It was amazing to see you be absolutely amazed at the graphics, While Kingdom Hearts as a while repesents as happy place for me 0.2 specifically represents depression and I re-experience it often when I need it. When you say “It’s like she’s being tortured”, that’s what the realm of darkness does, it preys on your loneliness and your disparity. When you’re heart breaks that’s when the darkness takes over

When I first played this game I had almost the same reactions… I couldn’t believe they made such a drastic jump. The graphics in this game were amazing for its time, especially for Kingdom Hearts. This tech demo really shined. Square Enix did a great job fleshing out Aqua’s adventure/story.
