Maybe Next year we can take both T-34's to Shows.
We just need to get this FV4005 project done so we can continue restoring our T-34.

Nah... probably a river. Bogs keep stuff pretty intact. You can pull pliable leather, intact wood, pristine condition helmets with intact paint... and other... things we shouldn't speak of in front of children.

Yep. Dan Snow and others recovered the remains of a WWII Spitfire from a peat bog in Donegal, Ireland. Paint was still fresh on the crumpled bits of fuselage, they recovered the perfectly preserved leather flight helmet of the pilot, and 6 x Browning .303 machine guns, still loaded.
The pilot was Roland 'Bud' Wolfe. I saw a programme about the plane, and him, hosted by Dan Snow.
Was quite surprised to discover this February that a book my Grandfather (a Forces Chaplain) gave to me shortly before he died, in 1992, had an envelope inside with B&W photos of American pilots from 1941, who joined the RAF before America joined the bunfight after Pearl Harbour.
Among those photos are three of 'Bud' Wolfe, in one of which he is standing beside a Spitfire. Turns out my Grandparents knew him.

Attention
Manual oil pump. Pump oil by hand pump to 05-1 ATM pressure before starting the engine
Lubricator. Fill the lubricant with vaseline every day
Air purifier. Wash the air purifier in 5-10 hours running the engine, in a dusty environment in 3-4 hours running the engine
Oil filter. Wash the oil filter in summer for every 15 hours running the engine and in winter for 25 hours
Fuel filter. Wash the fuel filter for every 25 hours running the engine

This is a Czechoslovakian ZTS Martin built T34-85. Supplied too the DDR National Volks Armee. East German T34s were only warsaw pact army to use ww2 style Notek night driving light mounted on front. The front seats have east german vinyl upholstery.
Not well versed in tank production history, but the instrument labels caught my eye - unlike the ones from the previously featured T34/85, these are in Czech as opposed to Slovak.
Quick google suggested they were also produced in Prague ČKD factory, so I'd argue this one is probably from there, not from ZTS Martin.

@@Dornacgove The point I was more trying to point too was that this T34 was from Nationale Volksarmee stock and these are quite rare as most of the DDR used examples were chopped up with gas axe and scraped. Information was from long out of print booK "Die Kampfpanzer der NVA".

@@WozWozErethey had to cannibalize the other 7 engines or transmissions to keep some modern junk running that’s no doubt been turned into a pile of burning, melted metal in Ukraine. The same basic engine was used up through the T-90M. So it’s not unsurprising to only have 1 T-34-85 in the May 8 Day parade in Moscow recently

I'll be the truck geek in the crowd...hats off to the owner of the truck that hauled the T-34 to you. He has it painted up in the colors and markings of "Bj Mcaky and his best friend Bear" trucking TV show from 1979. Looks great! Oh...nice T-34 too fellas...LOL! Love your videos.

The minute I saw that delivery truck I knew where the owner got his inspiration from. Now, if we could only get some owner/operator over in Europe do a "snowman" themed truck from "Smokey and the Bandit" 👍...

Судя по информационным табличкам, танк из Чехословакии. Странно другое, катки цельные, литые, что было характерно для ранних машин, потом пошли двенадцати спицевые ( пауки), а вот люк на командирской башенки одностворчатый, что характерно для машин средних и поздних серий.

Do not slip the clutch!!! 8- Push tillers fully forward to drive and back in either direction to steer. Do not slip the clutch!!!😊 RFM!😅

Those are czech inscriptions all over the tank.. for example the one at 9:44 says WARNING! 1) Keep accumulators (maybe meaning batteries?) clean 2) Change (or interchange?) left and right accumulator every 14 days 3) In 12-14 days check the levels of electrolyte in cells which you shall keep at 10-14mm above the top edge of the plate (dunno what that means or if I translated it so it makes sense I'm obviously not a tank mechanic) Anyways, top notch content love your vids.. HMU if you need to have st translated
accumulators sounds like air tanks. the t34 has an air starter and you need to keep water out of the air tanks
It means the top of the lead separator plates in the battery, which you could see by looking into each cell with the caps off. The electrolyte must 14mm deep over the top of those plates.

Way back in time, even the Poms referred to batteries as accumulators. In modern English/Pommy-speak the translation would be: WARNING! 1) Keep batteries clean (this prevents terminal to terminal discharge i.e. batteries with clean top surface hold charge much longer than when dirty. 2) Interchange left and right battery every 14 days (this equally cycles discharge & re-charge of both batteries equally i.e. "cycled" batteries last longer) 3) Every 12-14 days check the levels of electrolyte in cells which shall be maintained at 10-14mm above the top edge of the plates (viewed via each and every inspection/vent caps. I would add, charged battery must be 13.8 volts and have electrolyte specific gravity of .1260@@jonnoMoto

These days everybody and his grandmother got a T-34. I myself found a bunch in my cellar last week cleaning up. My brother wears one in his hair for years now and thinks he is Jack Tovarishch Sparrow.
I once lived in a house with a terrible T-34 infestation. You could hear them revving in the walls.

Starting instructions T34
1. Push on isolator, far right side of tank ( marked battery isolator )
2. Set hand throttle 1/3 forward, to the right of drivers knee ( marked hand throttle )
3. Press red starter button, to the left of left shoulder
4. Slow down engine speed on hand throttle
5. Release tiller lock and depress clutch and select gear
6. Pull tiller fully back and hold then release clutch pedal
7. Slowly release tiller to drive away ( clutch is only to be used on or off, not halfway. )
( Do not slip the clutch!!! )
8. Push tillers fully forward to drive and back in either direction to steer
9. To stop engine pull hand throttle right back
10. Turn off isolator

On the instruction sheet priming the engine before starting it, is missing. This is very important for the W2 motor. It also should be preheated, before starting at lower temperatures.

I can't believe you mocked the DAF. Total workhorse of trucks, and xf has a much nicer cab than any Scania and the best bed of any truck. Volvo being the best overall truck, but could only be made better with a DAF bed.

The problem you’re always going to have with T-34s built for and during WW2 is that they were only meant to last a few hours on the front line. It’s not that the quality was bad/good/awful etc, they were just built to do a specific job for a specific period of time. Even though the Russian stuff was the most produced, there’s so few around today because most of ‘em rotted away into heaps years ago. Cracking to see one in such good condition, thanks for showing us, as ever!! Keep up the good work me owd horses, me owd chestnuts! XXX
