Mr.Magnificent ANC can't remove quick sounds. The best it can do is slightly quieten them, the microphone and electronics is simply not that good to detect, invert and play the inverted the sound that quick.
Nice, they give you a comparison of various companies and let you decide which one is better, most companies would just say "yep, we're the best" but you guys actually let us choose, I can admire that!
Would have preferred an all in-ear comparison as over-ear has a distinct advantage of cancelling out noise just by being worn. None-the-less, this achieved it's goal of a direct comparison, appreciated, thanks
theodoro89 reason being is the head model the sennheisers are on ear they fit on the dummys ear the bose are designed for a human not a dummy so there was a gap obove th eear due to the angle of the head thus creating audio leakage

I experienced certain situations when they removed machine or mechanical noise to a level that's as good as gone or not really noticeable anymore. I hope Bose will make a bluetooth version of their in-ear series. Bose is a supplier to the professional aviation industry. Says it all. Bose Rulez! ;-)

You can tell Bose still cancel well, I have tried the Bose out before and to be honest when he put them on the dummy it actually sounded exactly how the sounded when I tried them out. I also know the mm550 are really good noise canceling headphones. Of course you are going to get better noise cancellation the mm550s are $300 more, the mm550 also offer much better sound than the Bose. If your looking for amazing noise cancellation with pretty good sound then I go with the Bose, but if your looking for amazing sound with amazing noise cancellation I'd go with the sennhisers. I hands on experience with both.

Hi OfficialErnesto ... The HD 380 PRO are better for producing music since they have the best frequency response range. The HD 203 provide a great sound but they are really designed for listening to finished music. Another option you could consider are the HD 280 PRO which are a staple within the studio recording industry.

The Bose is the winner in this, there's no doubt. Beats are lousy, you are just paying for the ''brand'' and to be apart of the ''so cool gang''. I tried the Bose noise cancelling headset (the newest ones) and trust me, they are good but damn too expensive for me.
Trust me, my friend has them, I've used them, the noise cancelling doesn't noticeably reduce surrounding sounds. If you focus, you can hear some sounds are quieter than without the NC on. I think the noise cancelling could have, and should have been better, even if just a bit.
I just got a pair of Beats Solo2 Wireless headphones and while I adore the Bluetooth function, the noise cancellation on it was a complete joke. Not only can I hear everything around me with these on, but everything around me can hear my music (and the volume isn't even halfway up!)... When you buy Beats, you're essentially buying for style.
Ive bough the CXC700 and Ive returned it after a couple of hours of use. Ive tried the active noise cancelling in a couple of different environments and the noise reduction was insignificant. It is unable to block computer, aircon, crowd, in airplane and in train noises and the audio volume is very low even on max. CXC700 active cancelling noise doesnt work. I have a sennheiser CX5 thats a much better device(high sound quality and great build quality and 1/3 of the price).

Noise-Cancelling is just a daylight roberry, except for the Bose QC15. I am using Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro, the passive Noise cancelling is as good as noise cancelling headphones, and the sound quality is superb, for$180?
Sennheiser had a hiss to it where bose did not. Also, Sennheiser is not sold in any local stores to try on my head for comfort first. If they were in local stores, id give them a try, but because they are not, I have to go with the qc15.

To be honest, you may need a hearing exam. Clearly the low end rumble of the plane was heard on the Bose; whereas the Sen cancelled that out completely.

if noise canceling is your thing, yea sennheiser or bose but when you want sheer power and quality at the same time the beats studio or pros are absolutely insane. the lesser ones are better than your normal $30 to $60 headphones but you cant judge the studios or pros because of them. also, youe can customize them in MANY ways.
Agree. True Bose innovated the NC technology, still it might be one of the best in the market. But in the acoustic arena, even amateur did not use Bose. Otherwise got ears checked, before wrongfully investing your money. I would not say Sennhiser makes the best headphone, but for money within $1000 range, you could trust them for sure. By the way, no one in the recording business used Bose so far, as I knew.
I have a Sennheiser CXC 700 but trying to adjust the right and left ear the function light started to blink fast and the unit does not function blocking unwanted noise. What is happening? I read the instructions manua carefully but I cannot reset the thing to work properly. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

I compared both of them and yes bose trumps the beats, but both have below average sound quality. Did the video even do any good? The bose still had rumbling where as the sennheiser mm 450 had almost no rumble.
ive got a set of senheiser and they are ok, but i also have a cheap no name brand that perform far better! its simple when buying headphones look for a really wide frequency range, good response time and dont trust display models to be anything like the ones you buy.
I used my HD-280 Pro's to listen to this video and I think that the Sennheiser MM-450 and Bose QC15 were pretty close. In my experience the Bose are much more comfortable, it feels like nothing is on your head, while the Senns are sturdier and feel like they are have higher quality manufacturing. P.S. I actually bought CXC 700 because of this video, and it didn't worked like how it worked in the video. On the top of that, it's 100% true that they edited sound, because you can't hear beep sound when he presses mode button. (It supposed to make a beep sound) I own a pair of HD650 and I trusted them, because HD650 was great. I'm not really disappointed with its noise cancelling ability, but the fact that they lied. This video is shame for sennheiser.

I fly planes, and the prop needs to be at regular crusing rpm. 2200. thats when you can get a decent test... do it again. :)

Fabian Bruns the thing that i've heard about Bose is that the material is fragile, not solid quality. The Beyerdynamics is much more quality build.

The Bose one was great, but in it already blocked out a lot of noise passively, the greatest difference between passive and active had the MM 450

Now, the beats have improved a lot, they have now the feature of noise cancelling, (beats studio, beats studio wireless) as I know.

Both Sennheisers win. I actually think the Sony did pretty darn good even without the noise canceling on.
