I think the point about useful stuff is so important. I swear, I just KNOW that I won’t need, like, 90% of what we learn in school. I went to school in Denmark for two year and there we had at least nutrition as a subject. We would cook and learn about healthy nutrition. I think schools would benefit from more practical subjects. I feel like most subjects in high school are so far removed from reality that they will likely have no relevance in our future. It would be way better if we learned stuff like house-keeping, taxes, crafting and fixing things and health, physically and mentally, maybe even etiquette and social skills, you know, things that we would benefit from in the future.
i second this in high school, the subjects start to become esoteric to the point where i feel a sense of derealization because i fail to understand the point of so much time spent on said subjects
@@hellofellowgamers4214 Totally agree. It feels like I’m entering another dimension that has nothing to do with real life. It, quite frankly, sucks because to me it’s so boring. I've barely went to school because of the time and horrible social anxiety and my parents had given up and signed me up for homeschooling, best decision ever.
as a 9th grader this is so real!! I get up at 6am then a commute to school where we start at 8 and end at 4pm. They also put 3 tests almost every week+homework? I spend 8hrs there everyday and you want me to do MORE??? When we had distance learning in 2020 i got award for best distance learning student. Because i didnt waste time travelling and sitting in school barely learning anything, instead i self disciplined and worked far more effectively at home, with of course tools such as TH-cam and google and i actually learned a lot more i cannot stretch enough how useful youtube is for ANYTHING. I've learned how to produce music, get a better mindset(stoic😉), how to tie a tie, and sm more!!+ofc all the wisdom from pegasus videos. I have a national test in spanish next week and we're not aloud dictionaries however we were aloud to use them for our swedish test(i live in sweden) HUH??? yeah school is weird+the teachers nowadays don't really have control over the class anymore so it's also often chaotic and noisy but yeah (long rant but yk)
I have a teacher, who gave showed us how the basics of the basics are done, and then, for the test, the advanced shit that we've never seen before is presented to us. AFTER the test, we were able to ask her how it was done, AFTER the test, where the points were already lost. And the shit thing is, she is an insanely intelligent woman, a genius in math, but her issue is that she can't lower herself down to our level. She always assumes that if we know the basics, we know everything else because that what it was like for her.
To me school isn't that bad... yet, this is coming from someone that is more so well-educated and I really do enjoy school. Mainly because of my friends to be honest.
The worst thing about it all for me is standardized testing. First off, it’s a useless test that test things we will never use in life. Just like Pegasus said, it’s all a test on your memorization skills, not the actual material. Then EVERYONE will finish the test right? WHY THE HELL CAN WE STILL NOT TALK?? Why can we not go to an early lunch or something?? Why can we not be on our phones?? A whole hour of sitting doing nothing when everyone is already finished. It’s so dumb.
I graduated in 2013 but one thing I fucking hated that my school did, was make us get up at the 5:30-6am time every weekday, get the bus at 7 then they’d get us to the school and make us wait an extra ten minutes before letting us off the damn thing. By the way, home room was at 7:30am, they literally wanted to control every bit of free time we had
My bus picked me up first and dropped me off last, so I spent an extra 2 hours in school. In high school my bus dropped me 5 miles from my house. I never got home before 8pm for 3 years. Homeschooled my last year and did all of it in a week.
A great example of this is history and biology. I would say most of what I was taught through school in these 2 subjects were either useless or flat out lies. The biggest issue is the Federal Government being involved in the curriculum. The only the thing the Federal government should be doing is making sure each State is teaching the US constitution.
School has too much busy work that takes up too much time during the day and doesn't prepare student for the real world. Skills such as resume building, interview ettiquete, time management, etc that would be useful aren't taught. All they teach you is how to pass a standardized test and go to college.
oh lawd pegasus is cooking the hot shit. I agree with this big time I'm still passionate about hating school because it's all abput shitty academics and grading and not actually about learning it's a place that kills any passion.
Youve made some good points... Some other points are very concerning. Its good to learn the basics of everything, to promote being a well-rounded and well-adjusted human being. Its okay to have weakness and strengths in certain subjects, but its good to learn a bit of every subjects.
As someone who was both once in school, and worked in one there is a lot if pointless and useless tasks teachers will have kids do oftentimes for no reason at all. Teachers will try to pressure students about them too with grades and what not. If you are a kid stressing over that stuff Ill tell you right now don't. Half the time they forget to grade it anyways and are just using it to desperately get a moments peace from the rrst of your classmates who are probably pooping on the floor, and painting on the walls with it for a TikTok.
I have learned way more things from TH-cam and the Internet in one year than my entire 20 year in school :x Except in College/University where I did Chemistry we had a lot of good practical assignment that was closely related to industry and most exams were openbook where my teacher said: "Memorizing is BS... I want you guys to find the solution of the problem by using all literatures/notes you've made!"
I am not the best example, we'll just leave me out of this one 😅 ... but I've met many homeschoolers (old friends of mine) who are doing so well in life with their jobs, careers, owning their first home by their early 20s (bastards, lol), married with kids by now, and doing well in social groups or in sports. All of them have their own unique set of skills and personalities. We all socialized through groups and sports, that's how we made friends, and surprisingly... school kids actually loved hanging out with us, well, maybe because we were all nerds, lol. I was the only one that was the socially awkward one, but that is because of my personality and disorder. All my friends were reallt good at being social, and often would drag me out of my comfortzone. Personally, if you got what it takes to homeschool your kids, do it!

Waiting for the bus during winter times was the most excruciating part of my school experience...especially for someone who was born and raised in a tropical country.
The mean students and teachers dont care, some teachers have bias. out of school too introverts are punished for not wanting to talk to strangers or make stupid jokes in class
school is good but the belgian system is so bad that my therapist said i need a big break till september bc my school didnt take my mental health serious and made it worse by scolding me and making fun when i struggled with a tiny thing and thats not the worst part thats jst a tiny part bro
One thing that should be against the rules is teachers complaining about how much they make. Constant complaining. I don't care, if they don't think they make enough they should find another job. When your teachers feel trapped the students feel trapped. Come to find out they get paid more than me working at Amazon, which I thought paid well until I learned they are paid twice or more.
School should at the bare minimum should allow you to choose classes that interest you so you can try them and see if you like that kind of work, not just throwing random things we won't use in our life unless we choose a job related to it.
Real I 10000000% fucking agree and despise school but I feel like it’s needed in our society. It just needs to be changed no one fucking cares about the bs we’re learning now. I mean back then before the internet I guess school was necessary but now with all of these resources online the system is in need for a change.
I remember being in 6th grade, I heard that 98% of what we learn in school is never used in real life most of the time, I didn’t believe it at first but then I got into algebra, wtf is literally any of this useful for???? Like you want me to pay my taxes by finding x??? Want me to tell you how this is a triangle?? I wish most of the classes were optional based on your preferences for your job, like I’m never using any complex science, I’m more than likely never leaving my state so no reason for me to learn about other states when I’m not interested. Maybe give a short class on certain subject for like a week, like space and stuff give students a class of that for a week, if you see some students find interest in it they should do the full class, but I don’t care about any of the stuff I’m learning about. I find I lose motivation as I know by the end of the day I’m gonna forget whatever I’m learning and it’ll never be useful for me. Honestly such a garbage school system.
In Australia, all our classes were set for us up until year 9, when we chose our own subjects. In year 10 maths, we learnt about taxes at least. My school has career counsellors to help us discover what we want to do in the future.
Bro the poopy problems I can relate. This was before I got diagnosed with ibs. The bus would always take forever but the bus stop is sooooo far away from my house. I would have to hold it or just go to the nurse.
homework for me was so useless that if i didnt do it I would still get A's on the tests bc they would teach audibly anyway so there was no point to the homework to begin with. School is basically the useless tutorial in a video game that tells you what you CAN do, but not what is required to survive.
college is also a scam, my cousin went I didn't but we both work at the same place, have the same hours, make the same money, and not allowed to ask for a raise

Pegasus, what country did you go to school in? Because I think your gripes are with the system in your country specifically. There are other schook systems that do this better. I was lucky to do 7 years of school in one country and the rest in another and let me tell you, the first country taught me how to apply concepts. We did oral examinations, you couldn't just memorize facts and it was good because it taught you how to converse intelligently on a topic, debate and even bargain. All useful life skills. We also had a great variety of subjects. The srcond country was just multiple choice memorization bullsh** and with that, i agree. That was a waste of 5 years for me...

I think schools would benefit from more practical subjects. I feel like most subjects in high school are so far removed from reality that they will likely have no relevance in our future. It would be way better if we learned stuff like house-keeping, taxes, crafting and fixing things and health, physically and mentally, maybe even etiquette and social skills, you know, things that we would benefit from in the future.
i second this
in high school, the subjects start to become esoteric to the point where i feel a sense of derealization because i fail to understand the point of so much time spent on said subjects
@@hellofellowgamers4214 Totally agree. It feels like I’m entering another dimension that has nothing to do with real life. It, quite frankly, sucks because to me it’s so boring. I learn best when I do something. That’s why art is my favorite subject, though cooking was even better but here in Germany we don’t have that. I’m a practical learner or whatever you’d call that
Taking tests in a quiet classroom full of other people always made me so uncomfortable, like I legit could NOT focus and it made me feel like actual 💩
Do you have adhd bro 😭
That's why you focus on other peoples tests it makes it easier to focus on yours after. :D Jk jk
Pegasus is the ONLY Teacher we need
I was only good at classes you get to pick. I got straight A's in Psychology and Mythology class, which were classes I wasn't required to take in highschool. They were easy for me. 🤷🏻♀️
Bonus point: If school was not like hell, nobody would bother bullying the quiet kid, saving a lot of lives in the process
I've barely went to school because of the time and horrible social anxiety and my parents had given up and signed me up for homeschooling, best decision ever.
Wish my parent did that
Bro your not sad about not seeing friends or field trips or anything 🤨
@drip2575 My friend visits my house sometimes, and I hated school trips with every atom in my body
@@J1407b_planetig field trips do be lame at sometimes
What grade did you stop at
Interviewer: Do you have any work experience?
Me: No, but I know that a² + b² = c².
Or "no, but I know the Pythagorean theorem"
as a 9th grader this is so real!! I have a national test in spanish next week and we're not aloud dictionaries however we were aloud to use them for our swedish test(i live in sweden) HUH??? yeah school is weird+the teachers nowadays don't really have control over the class anymore so it's also often chaotic and noisy but yeah (long rant but yk)
philosophy is goated
Another thing that's stupid at school is teachers lying about voluntary tests being mandatory or not telling the students the tests are voluntary
The problem with school is that I'm not book smart.
My bus picked me up first and dropped me off last, so I spent an extra 2 hours in school.
In high school my bus dropped me 5 miles from my house. I never got home before 8pm for 3 years.
Homeschooled my last year and did all of it in a week.
As someone who also woke up around 5 am, it’s super draining and I actually was uncontrollably falling asleep mid class
Me in 4:30:😵
School also give depression. When kids bully you, you lose the will to learn and replace it with to survive.
A great example of this is history and biology. I would say most of what I was taught through school in these 2 subjects were either useless or flat out lies. The biggest issue is the Federal Government being involved in the curriculum. The only the thing the Federal government should be doing is making sure each State is teaching the US constitution.
You had me at the first point, school system sucks for everyone, both teachers and students.
At my school, homework wasn't tested and it had nothing to do with what we did in class
Most of the memories I have from school are bullying, loneliness and stress for years and years 😂
I literally get laughed at when i stare at the floor
My issue with school is bullying and how it still exists now.
Youve made some good points...
Some other points are very concerning.
Its good to learn the basics of everything, to promote being a well-rounded and well-adjusted human being.
Its okay to have weakness and strengths in certain subjects, but its good to learn a bit of every subjects.
Love all your channels ,keep up the good work bro !
I am not the best example, we'll just leave me out of this one 😅
... but I've met many homeschoolers (old friends of mine) who are doing so well in life with their jobs, careers, owning their first home by their early 20s (bastards, lol), married with kids by now, and doing well in social groups or in sports.
Really interested in hearing more about Stoicism saving your life. I've just recently started diving more into Stoicism and it's honestly helping me change how my mind is wired and I'm so glad for that.
Back when I was in school sadly what matters to me is to pass instead of actually learning
not a single soul in the world likes school
So nerds don't have souls?

While still on the pan, put the cheese on two of the four slices of bread, place other two slices on the other two and continue toasting until both side of each sandwich are a golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Cut the sandwiches in half for easy eating.
Eat with soup or by themselves. 🥪

This is by far my favorite video

Waiting for the bus during winter times was the most excruciating part of my school experience...especially for someone who was born and raised in a tropical country.
Love the vids pegasus❤
The mean students and teachers dont care, some teachers have bias. out of school too introverts are punished for not wanting to talk to strangers or make stupid jokes in class
school is good but the belgian system is so bad that my therapist said i need a big break till september bc my school didnt take my mental health serious and made it worse by scolding me and making fun when i struggled with a tiny thing and thats not the worst part thats jst a tiny part bro
Yay another Pegasus video!!! ❤❤
School is a factory, segregation is the key, and your dreams are the door of opportunities.
We have a problem.
THERE'S A SCHOOL NAMED PEGASUS SCHOOL?!?!
One thing that should be against the rules is teachers complaining about how much they make. Constant complaining. I don't care, if they don't think they make enough they should find another job. When your teachers feel trapped the students feel trapped. Come to find out they get paid more than me working at Amazon, which I thought paid well until I learned they are paid twice or more.
when i went to school, i woke up at 6:10am and catch 2 buses. 1 at 7:15 and the other at 8:10. my commute to school was 1 hour 15-25 mins.
School should at the bare minimum should allow you to choose classes that interest you so you can try them and see if you like that kind of work, not just throwing random things we won't use in our life unless we choose a job related to it.
My school started at 8:30 AM lol
Still don't like homework.
Bro the poopy problems I can relate. This was before I got diagnosed with ibs. The bus would always take forever but the bus stop is sooooo far away from my house. I would have to hold it or just go to the nurse.
yes tests makes my stomach turn as well
I also had to learn about rock density if a rock scratches a penny it's more dense
homework for me was so useless that if i didnt do it I would still get A's on the tests bc they would teach audibly anyway so there was no point to the homework to begin with. School is basically the useless tutorial in a video game that tells you what you CAN do, but not what is required to survive.
I think it’s hilarious when the teacher plays TH-cam videos in college classes. I could have done that myself and saved like $10k a year lol.
Well well well
Time is nothing just don't sleep. But fuck homework even my math teacher in highschool told me it's fkn stupid to do homework
I also learn about stoicism from PewDiePie!!

I saw this comment right under one that was defending school. 😭
The classic, "your opinion is not saem as mine" + insult
college is also a scam, my cousin went I didn't but we both work at the same place, have the same hours, make the same money, and not allowed to ask for a raise

Please no I just started teaching😂
Since you mention it I would also poop in class
What does Pegasus look like when he was younger? Just a question.
who tf wakes up at 5:30?? my school starts at 8
Pegasus, what country did you go to school in? Because I think your gripes are with the system in your country specifically. There are other schook systems that do this better. I was lucky to do 7 years of school in one country and the rest in another and let me tell you, the first country taught me how to apply concepts. We did oral examinations, you couldn't just memorize facts and it was good because it taught you how to converse intelligently on a topic, debate and even bargain. All useful life skills. We also had a great variety of subjects.
The srcond country was just multiple choice memorization bullsh** and with that, i agree. That was a waste of 5 years for me...
okay well at least I know what the powerhouse of the cell is
We have computing exams, but we are not allowed to use the internet. I swear, every single student was cheating except for the autistic kid. Also, we hade to write python code WRITE it on a piece of paper with no interpreter or compiler to see if the code works how we want it to.
100% going to homeschool my kids
Why they won’t get to socialize that well
