Facts 💯 we know Tatum is next
They should
Those two guarantee you a final 4 appearance and arent 30 yet.

Dude is the 2nd best player on a team that couldn't win it all and can only dribble with one hand, but here's the biggest contract in NBA history. 😂😂 NBA gotta have the dumbest GMs in any sport.
To be fair, he's a bucket, solid defense, and despite having no left hand, he made All NBA and game 7 of the conference finals. Working on off handed dribbles is not going to take long.
But he's not better than any top players in the league lmfao. Bro get off his sack, he def don't deserve that at all. Bro chokes all the time alone with Tatum and they never gonna win
@@devingilliam5601 Hes a very good player. Definitely not biggest contract in nba history type player tho. Were the Celtics competing with Saudi Arabia? Who else was offering him that?
@@zType2 Well after this season he'd be a FA and could've gotten a good chunk elsewhere. Boston was the only team that could give him a supermax though. So to keep him because he's a very good player they had to. I think Boston will be a scary good team. They are more offense focused now which is probably going to be better for Mazulla and I think they've got a real shot at winning the title.
It's either re-sign Jaylen Brown or let him walk potentially next season and signify to Tatum that this isn't a team that's trying to win. You don't re-sgn JB, you don't get equal value back for him, your title window is closed. It's not about the dollar amount of the contract (which will look like peanuts in a few years when better players get their supermaxes) it's about maintaining what is already in place and that is year in and year out being a contender. NBA GM's know a lot more than youtube commenters I can assure you that.
Bottom line: JB wasn't leaving Boston by his own accord. Signing supermax deal with Celts was priority for him all along. Celts overpaid for a very good 2nd best player, but that's what you do when you contend for a title. Both JT and JB will contend for multiple titles during their prime with the Celts. The Current Celtics remind me of the Joe Johnson led Atlanta Hawks team and what's hilarious about that is that Al Hortford was a part of that team too. They will be good enough to compete in the playoffs but not good enough to compete for a NBA Championship
Delusional
Lmao that Hawks reached ECF once lol
@@TopDeckKaloy I don't think the Joe Johnson Atlanta Hawks ever made it to the Eastern Conference Championship but his team was constructed very similarly to the current Celtics. Also his team had to deal with the Ben Wallace(Pistons), Kevin Garnett (Celtics), and then the Lebron James (Heat). He didn't have a chance at the same playoff success as Tatum and Brown. Luck helped Tatum and Brown playoff success by moving Lebron and others to the Western conference
After signing both Brown and Tatum, the Celtics will have a hard time other good players without hitting the second apron and being penalized under the new CBA. This pretty much seals the Celtics fate.

Celtics need a true PG … I give it to them though they tried with Isaiah Thomas, Terry Rozier, Kyrie Irving, and Kemba Walker.
I think KP will make a big difference and really open both these guys up. Tatum-Brown-KP could be a legit Big 3. White- Brown-Tatum-KP- Williams has the potential to be an absolute beast of a starting lineup.
If Jaylen refocused on defense to fill the void left by Smart and let's Porzingas carry extra weight offensively, this will work out fine.
Would love to see this trio do well.

I understand that the majority of this discussion is about Jaylen Brown and his extension but then they start talking about the Celtics chances of winning the chip this year and there is no mention of Porzingis joining the team. They acted as though the Celtics are running it back again minus Marcus Smart. There was a brief comment about the Celtics changing it up this offseason by getting rid of Smart but how about discussing what the Celtics have added. Granted, Porzingis's health is always in question but let's discuss the fact that Porzingis and Robert Williams presence on the court with the Jay's is a new look that we have yet to see. Maybe that's why the Celtics' are picked as the #1 best odds to win the chip this year.

To all of the Celtic haters and trolls, i can only imagine how frustrating it is when your team does little to nothing in the off season to improve your team and meanwhile, you see a team like the Celtics that are making deep runs into the playoff's year in and year out. You feel helpless and all that you can do is to take jabs at Celtics fans. All that I can say is to hang in there with your team and you can always turn on a Celtics game when your team is having another bad night.

This isn't as good for Celtic Jaylen Brown fans as it seems. ... It's a rental situation.
How does it speak volumes??? Nba turned lebron into billionaire with worst handles than brown and the most turnovers in NBA history😂😂
@@G_Martin 😂🤣😂🤣, nice! ... Lebron does have better handles than Brown, but I do hear ya. ... LoL, tis all apart of the same volumes that it speaks of 🤪
Brousard said hes tradable well I dont know how tradable he is at 300 million dollars.
Nick I bet you and your show will be one of the first shows putting him in trade scenarios.
No way the Celtics can beat the Nuggets, they're missing a few pieces for that to happen. ...personally I think 300 plus million for Jaylen Brown is nuts!
The Celtics have a great chance versus the Nuggets with the roster they have.
sure, this contract looks bad without context, but so many more contracts are gonna look like this with the increasing salary cap. All-NBA players will be going for 55-70 mil a year regularly. not a bad deal
Jaylen Brown about to be a jeopardy question for sure and one of the many reasons a lockout is on the way
They just signed a new CBA agreement months ago, so there is not going to be a lockout no time soon
Did Nick say that next year they gonna swop out Marcus Smart?
Shout out to all the arm chair GMs lol. JB made all nba when he was up for a contract. He earned the money.
Look at that all nba list. Hes easily bottom 2-3 on that list and there were others left off that are better because of missed games/injuries. Hes not a number 2 until he learns to dribble to the left and make some free throws.
@@bigle2e695 so it's jaylen fault kd only played 50 games?
@@graphitepoo No but its a bit disingenuous to say hes "earned" it when there are better players out there. He wouldnt have gotten the nod if they werent, he won by default.
@@bigle2e695 lmao he's second team all nba. It's a fact. There's nothing disingenuous about playing at a high level and being available for 80% of season.
Let's say he didn't make all nba. He still would have had the largest contract LOL. The difference between a max and super max is 15Ms total.
@@graphitepoo Not arguing the final amount of his contract. Just pointing out hes not a legit all nba talent. He is not a top 15 talent in the league. The changes to positionless slots should make things interesting.
Still waiting for them to talk about bronny.
They don't wanna bring attention to what the Jab is doing to people.
They did on The Herd. They don't show all they talk about in these clips. You miss a lot if these are what you rely on.
It makes you wonder how much more he could have gotten if he could dribble with his left hand.
wait WHAT?? Did Brou just claim Dirk is not a top 25 players of all time? That's the first time I've heard that one before lol. I personally have him just inside the top 20, around the 17-19 range.
1000%. This is Chris Brousard's most insane take of all time.
None of the players are worth their salary the money they make is ridiculous
That's not true. I think superstar players like Curry and LeBron bring way more money than they get paid. He isn't even the best player on the team, and that's how you know he's overpaid.
@@allenmk138 True. Lebron and Curry brings in the big bucks. Team owners gets their money's worth with them being great players and getting media endorsements and filling up stadiums. Brown is not at that level.
People don’t realize how much losing their heart & soul Marcus Smart is going to hurt them. You need that kinda guy and they no longer have it.
How absolutely ridiculous beyond.
"Marriage of convincing" anyone else catch the "They Cloned Tyrone" reference? *hats off good sir
He’s not worth it but he’s also kills the salary cap
ECF or finals every year when healthy...
Wow😮 Boston better trade that Man🎯
They’ve been trying to do so for 3 years
At the 8:00min mark…did Nick say next year they might swap out Marcus Smart??? Isn’t he already on Memphis?🤔
How in the world are the Celtics title odds higher than the Nuggets when they couldn’t even get past Miami in the ECF this past year. It’s mind boggling.
Roster much better and emergency head coach has experience now
@@youngboomerragevictim8857 They didn’t do anything significant to their roster that makes them better than the Nuggets as title contenders.
And stop with the coach didn’t have experience. Ain’t no way them fools should’ve lost to Miami lol
Nick : I don't think Boston are winning the Finals with Tatum as their 1 and Brown as their 2.
2022: Literally picked them to win the Finals against the Warriors mid series even though Tatum and Brown weren't the players they are today.
After having choked last year, yes that changed his mind.
That’ll be two years ago when the season starts but okay
They were the same drop the ball and fall apart when the lights are the brightest players against the warriors they were against the Sixers (getting bailed out by a miraculous .2 second tip in) and Heat this year.
Yes he is worth it
No he isnt😂
Not a chance. A two time all star?? Gonna be getting paid over 50 mil a season
He’s not even a top 10 player in the NBA
lol
@@olajideparis he's not top 20 either
these deal should have a no trade request clause
owner: “we have a modest number of employees, its just that one of them earns 300M”
The problem isn't JB he's playing his role the problem is Tatum is overrated and should be a #2 but people aren't ready for that conversation.
Yeah, paying the majority of the cap for 2 players isn't a problem. Paying the majority of the cap to these 2, the Jays, takes the Celtics out of the conversation of legitimate contenders.
As a fan of players getting paid what they deserve but Boston overpaid him big time. He's getting traded soon. Boston can't afford to keep him for 300m. He turns the ball over too much and the chemestry issues are REAL.
LMAOOO what chemistry issues?
@@GurtonBuster07 so Boston didn't fall apart in the playoffs again? They obviously can't stick to a game plan, and they constantly are shopping Jaylen Brown.
Congratulations to him
