DWade is not a wingman. He had one of the best finals run ever c'mon now
Quick calout on Wildes: Boston Garnett was 3rd in MVP voting during that 08 run. Even though his own numbers dipped for scoring because of the talent around him, his impact on defense and leadership cannot be overstated in that regular season.
Also, Dirk was 6th in MVP voting in 2011 and won finals. So the goofy guy with the pinky ring's graphic is trash. 🗑
I cannot believe Nick Wright put that ridiculous graphic up about all of the teams winning Finals in their PRIME years, and adding the Celtics as if their two best players weren’t 19-25 years old. At this point it’s pretty much unethical how much Nick blatantly hates on Boston.
The 2011 championship should be on that list of greatest upsets. That was the year LeBron, Bosh and Wade formed the super team. Everyone expected them to sweep
That was the greatest postseason run ever
When you consider The Mavs went through OKC and swept LA it doesnt seem like a huge upset.
The Lakers could’ve had Tatum
And Magic chose Lonzo Ball 🙄
Thanks, Jeanie, for disgracing your dad's name.... again.
i mean Lonzo wasnt really a bad fit, and he fix his shot, had Lonzo not gotten hurt he would have had a break out year already, Lonzo can literally do everything, the only thing that wasn't falling was his shot and he fix it, now he needed to put things together but got hurt

the way the media talking you would think the celtics are the underdog
And then you have mavs fans acting like everyone isnt picking them lol
@truth3412 There are some people who have picked the Mavs, but most people, including Vegas, favor Boston
I just think the media is trying to make it entertaining because to me the Celtics are so much better and I don’t even think Dallas might win one game. So right now the media is just hyping it up because that’s their job. Luca had a triple double played amazing Kyrie had 20+ points played amazing points against the Celtics. They are just a nightmare matchup for the Mavericks.
@@FLJ2784 na the vast majority of the shows on espn, FS1 ive seen few people pocking boston. Everyone is picking dallas.
Exactly! That’s gonna be the narrative when Boston wins. They’re gonna be like , “ Well of course Boston won, Dallas was the underdogs”…. Mark my words🤦🏻♂️

Edit: I’ll admit I went straight to the comments before watching the video. Didn’t realize he was listing Vegas odds underdogs. I personally feel like the Mavs over Heat was a huge upset. But it wasn’t according to Vegas. Strange to me. I feel better about this Mavs team than I did in 2011.

The issue is with the Tatum stuff is he’ll go 36/10/4 and he’ll get talked about like he played poorly. Not necessarily that people rate him as the 6th or 7th best player in the NBA
FACTS
Context matters , it’s what you do game 7 (big games) against a team of even skill, not a depleted Indiana team. Even in this playoffs he started poorly, how are you not locked in to start the playoffs on the team with the runaway best record

@@seand7042Yes, maybe so. But the issue I have is that Tatum is talked about like this after his teams WIN! Heaven forbid they lose.

And he is fully right on this one. Embid is walking injury, plus he chokes in playoffs so hard.
@@MrCount987No one is taking Embiid out the top 8 and Nick is definitely wrong saying Embiid gets more criticism than Tatum. Embiid was drafted a decade ago, been in mvp talks 3 years in a row including winning 1 but gets more excuses for playoff elimination either cus of Ben Simmons or his injuries. Only MVP ever to not make a conference finals yet James Harden for example is labeled a playoff choker (for good reasons) despite making the WCF as the #1 option twice and the teams he played were the Warriors during their dynasty
If only 3 are over him universally, how is he “at best the 5th” nick disproving his own point on the disrespect.
Because #4, Embiid, is a better player but not universally respected more than Tatum.
Luka Jokic, Giannis, Embiid (but hes not respected as injurys and underperformances), and then you have SGA, ANT, AD who might be better at points might be worse, its debatable who are better so yah 5 to 8 sounds perfect (minus ofc old stars who are still insane, but barely relevant)

The disrespect is getting wild with Tatum.
Tatum has had significantly better teams than most of the other young players mentioned. If Tatum is swapped for Lebron, MJ, Curry, or any other top tier player you can think of would likely already have 1 or 2 chips at a minimum. Tatum is a great player but he is just now getting the criticism he deserves for the quality of teams he has had and not been able to close the deal.
How is the 2017 conference finals a knock on Tatum. He wasn’t even in the league yet. and that team was completely different led by IT
Going to eastern conference finals is not as hard as doing it in the western conference
This year it is. In 2022 it wasn't, GSW had an easy path meanwhile Celtics had to go through Nets-Bucks-Heat.
Am I the only one who can’t get enough of the Luka glazing?
Yea Nick, he is unfairly criticized, especially by you. I listened to you say last week that Ant had 6 turnovers and said it was okay. I also remember a few weeks ago when Tatum threw a turnover on a pick and roll and you called him uncomfortable with the ball, then not even 2 games later, Ant does the exact same thing from the exact same spot and you called it great defense. There are players better than him, but people want to put players ahead of him when they have no business in the convo.
I think if he was in a small market or not on a stacked team he wouldn't be getting talked about much.
The reason Tatum gets more criticism for not winning a ring by 26 than the other guys mentioned is because he plays on a great team non of those other guys had great teams and when they did they won. Put a young mj or lbj on these Celtics teams they would’ve already had multiple rings
Yeah people try and ignore that and call any criticism hating but its just an obviously true observation. And he goes missing and when he is shooting his team out of big games he keeps shooting fadeaways and 3's instead of driving to the basket and getting to the line or making the layup to see some stuff go in before going back outside.
So it's Tatum on the same level of MJ or LBJ? If your answer is No, then why the heck you feel the need to compare them? Ok he's won't be a top 10 ever, why would he need to live up to that standard? He's the best player on a team that now has two finals and is about to win.

What Brusard is doing is underestimating the Dallas Mavericks, which calls into question his basketball knowledge. The irony is that he's not even the best on his team, so he can't become one of the great even if Celtics win the championship. I really hope the Mavericks win.
Wildes: I like NBA years over calendar years
FINALLY, the man for the people
i get Luka may win a title so early but when Nick compares it to other young players of the past who won but says Luka’s is more impressive because of who they played with, some of those costars Kyrie is either at the level of or slightly better than they were at the time. Shaq in 2006 with Wade was clearly not prime Shaq, same goes for Robinson with Duncan
Wade carried Shaq in the 06 finals
The only real problem with Tatum is the clutch factor. He has no truly memorable playoff moments unlike 2 of his current teammates while Jordan and LeBron did it on a consistent basis.
He's had moments (a 50 point game 7 or whatever.) The problem is he's never had a complete playoff run, where you can say "he was great in that series they lost, the team let him down."
Also had 46 against the bucks in game 6 I believe
Literally the game winner against BKN game 1, Bucks game 6, Philly game 6 and 7, like tf lol. The 40 and 50pt games against BKN in '21 too.
Either you're a casual or you just H@t3 the guy. Tatum has had plenty of "moments" where he led his team to victory.
I don't understand the Jayson Tatum hate...not to mention he outplayed and swept Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden...
Quick fact check, at 8:46 Dwight was top 3 mvp voting in 2011
I think Tatum forgets how big he is. Yes he can shoot the three but if he wants that Kobe comparison or even be one of the greatest he has to master the midrange. He gotta go to the rack more often imo.
Respect for D Wade’s age 24 finals championship/mvp/ stats please! Like what?
Its simple. Tatum is not of that ilk, and it is okay. He is properly rated. The problem is that none of the other "greats" that were mentioned with the whole "they havent won at this age", they came in older than Tatum, and have never had the amount of talent that Tatum has had, when they did though, they won.

Happy Anniversary Brou!
The Curse of the Broussard!
Luka is going to go into Celtics house, kick up his feet up and say, "Tatum! Make me a sandwich! Jaylen! Get me a bag of chips and Joe Mazzulla! Fetch me a soda pop!"
Copium.
He is too fat to do that
I enjoy Kevin Wilds! Delightful charming takes!
Bird only played three years in college. Not five, Nick.
Losing to the best backcourt in the NBA in the finals after losing to the best back court in NBA history is forgiveable
I’m not a Celtics fan but I do acknowledge Jason Tatum and he’s an elite player
There you fools go comparing the era of uncontested shots and step backs vs hand checking and no flagrant fouls
Tatum has been in the league for years. People were super excited to see how he would progress since the 2018 season. Its wrong to say he has peaked, but its fair to say we have tatum/brown celtics fatigue. Good enough to be the best in the east, but not good enough to win it all. They have a chance to prove people wrong this year.
Also, the east has like 3 rings in the last 5 years. Rapters agaisnt the warriors with 2 blown ACLs, 2021 bucks, and the lebron cavs.
This is by far the best NBA talk show out there. All the rest seems as if they keep on repeating the same stuff
