    💛💚🖤 #1 Jamaican supporter reporting for duty! Thank you for reacting to this one fam! There is so much to see, do and feel in Jamaica outside of the major tourist areas, the roads aren't the best but when you get there its magical. The thing looking like cornbread is a festival (fried cornmeal dumpling). We rafting is super safe and they do have bigger rafts. The eastern parishes of St Mary and Portland are actually the top spot for celebrities. Nuff love, One love always!

    If you're coming to Jamaica and wanna experience the local side to our country I would suggest hooking up with one or two of our many youtubers here to experience the real 🇯🇲. Plus you would get great contents while you're at it. In addition you would get first hand experiences of the do's and dont's (which every country has).

    The ‘rice and peas’ is so called because historically Jamaicans used to use mainly ‘gungo peas’ (aka pigeon peas). Nowadays they also use mainly kidney beans and sometimes they also use black eyed peas, but the dish is still called ‘rice and peas’ regardless of which ‘peas’ they use!

    Our last time in Jamaica we hired a local guy.. he picked us up at 8am & we didn't get back to our resort unti afterl 2am. Took us in land to the all the local spots. water falls that tourists probably never see, local food spots, his home, street party in some little town.

    our motto is "out of many one people" meaning "out of many we are one," because we aren't just of African descent, we also have Chinese, Indian, European, etc ancestries

    • @NativeNomads10
      @NativeNomads10 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s far from it, it has nothing to do with race but instead ethnicity and culture. Even within the African descendants, it comprises of different west African tribes and ethnic groups. Jamaica is 90% African and the DNA ain’t diluted either.

    Veganism is not that strange to Jamaica theres a percentage of rastafarians that indulge in the practice. It is called ITAL ( pronounced I-TAL). It came about from the Indian indentured workers sharing some of their Hindu practices with the African slaves many of Rastafarian practices are closely related to Hindu practices example smoking of ganja for penance or sacrament. Ganja is a Hindu word many of the indentured workers brought Hindu high priest with them that had dreadlocks and brought ganja seeds with them and they would smoke it as part of their rituals.

    • @sportreelz7025
      @sportreelz7025 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only thing Idians gave Rastas is the herb, or canibis as you would call it, but the word Ital was created by Rastas, and the recipes are also created by them

    I went to Jamaica, Haiti , Nassau with my mom, sister (for her 18th and graduation) and my sister's best friend back in 1980.
    Beautiful land, but so impoverished. Then and now I can still remember (I was 15 then) the people, the little kids attempting to sell what they could at the dock and on the roads of their villages . . . we bought as much we were able. I'm crying right now for the people and families and for those they've lost. I could've had a rich lifestyle but I don't. My son's, my sister and our mom (two brain surgeries later) are healthy and for those things, I am thankful.
    I know that I'm unloading on you. I am truly thankful for having place to sleep. I wish everyone had a somewhat warm, at the very least, place to sleep and at least one meal in their bellies per day and access to a doctor.

    • @ingridreid1313
      @ingridreid1313 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because you are not use to that way of life doesn't mean that the people are impoverished.
