As a Jamaican I can agree with everything except the part where u use different hand gestures to get a ride...And secondly seafood is very popular and common...maybe not as much as land based foods but u can get seafood, just have to find the right spot.
And the ye mon, irie and yah gwan are just phrases told to the foreigners. When Jamaicans talk to each other we dont say that.... Maybe we do, but quite rare and not like how they say it. It actually annoys us when we hear them say it

I think its the way its said and pronounced in the tourist areas that annoys people, but we use ya man and wah gwaan as part of daily life without noticing. But on boars with everything else.

Every Jamaican say yeah man on a daily basis when agreeing to something. Also, there are several hand gestures to signal a taxi based on the route it’s going. The taxi will tell you the route by using a pointing of direction or an amount of finger and you in turn will do the same. They do it a lot in rural Jamaica, and Portmore

You need to check out SOAI vlogs, Spearfishing Jamaica, Ras Macko and sunrise TV all Jamaican vloggers
PS: there’s no hand gang hand signs in Jamaica don’t even have color gangs. They don’t attack tourists, crimes in Jamaica are between Jamaicans.

Jamaica HAS seafood! Local fishermen bring in their catch and sell on most beaches every morning. Escovitched fish, roast fish, steamed fish with okra and crackers are everyday favourites. Most cookshops do brownstewed sliced fish everyday and fish soup is usually on the weekly menu. We love our fish ...the ones that swim. 🤣🤣🤣 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

Thank you for reacting fam! 💛💚🖤We definitely have seen some growth in local travel vloggers, but they tend to cater to local viewers so they speak in patwah and use slangs. The selling harassment has been improving over the years for sure. There is so much to see and do especially as family and its safe to explore. WE LOVE SEAFOOD!!! lol..
I dont know what he talking bout fam.. We have entire fishing villages and seafood spots, where you can get all types of fish, shellfish, clams, etc. We eat seafood everyday..

As a Jamaican I don't agree with those hand signals for getting a taxi. Some taxi do have hand signals to represent which route they drive but definately not those signals he showed but everything else is fairly accurate. But we do have alot of seafood places where you can get your fish, shrimp, crab, lobsters etc. Maybe it's not on the hotel grounds but Hellshire is the seafood place for me, my mouth watering just thinking about it. 😅

Seafood is available but for environmental conservation, we limit fishing. It makes it pricey but it is available

Don’t get irritated when they want to sell you something.. this is how they get money to take care of their families.. dnt make it a bad ting… JA is expensive for the locals.. 1000 for a box of food.. and how long does that box last ❤❤❤ Respect ❤❤❤

Imagine Jamaica is known for multiple seafood cuisine, especially escovitch fish and roast, steam, fry and brown stew fish, yet he claim Jamaicans don’t eat much seafood. He stayed in the tourist areas now think he knows everything about Jamaica

The seafood info is false...I think it may be due to where he is as well. And in some parts of the tourism areas they tent to cater more for what is popular that area..also as we hardly fillet our fishes it tends to be something where we don't serve it as adults may find it hard to eat as it has all the bones in. But Jamaica is know for its seafood..both fresh and salt water.

It depends where u are Fridays are usually a laidback time not much heavy cooking in Jamaica 🇯🇲. There is a lot of fish cooking it depends where u are what parish u go. Portland, Rocky Point, Ole Harbour, Saint Mary and Hanover are popular places that prepares recipes for cooking fish.

No it doesn’t have the most seafood. It’s just one seafood point like many places in Rural Jamaica. The fact that Jamaica is an island should tell him that we eat a lot of seafood

Not sure what he is talking about as it relates to seafood and I am a Jamaican who lives in Jamaica, those gesture for cars is totally off I don’t know what he is referring to because that threw me for a loop. Yeh man is normally phrase but irie and some others regular Jamaican don’t say that to be honest probably at resorts.

@@NativeNomads10 just like the United States are in the Americas. It’s of America but not America same as any country in the Americas. Different states having different culture I don’t think that’s true. There are various cultures represented.
