I guess im asking randomly but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Yes, but waterlilies hate moving water. But this design is horrible anyway, if you ask me. It feels cheap and 80% of the black plastic is still visible, once the water is clean.
Best pro tip was reminder to keep edge of pond liner above surrounding ground! If not for that, my future pond would likely result in fish swimming through the grass in my yard at the next heavy rain! Thank you for the tip!
I have no clue how to make any of these "dude projects." I have no patience to learn these things. 😔 I always skip to the final product. But a mini pond sounds cute. I want a coy one. 🤔💡Im gonna put those kiddie pool things into the ground. Itll be cheap & i can rig it up to look just as nice 🤗. Im just being stupid. These are the things i do at 3 am.
Wow, this project was more involved than I realized. So glad to see Monica back! An approximate cost for this project and amounts used would be a nice addition to the video . Thanks for sharing this project with us.
Old comment but I’ve seen plenty vids showing how to build budget ponds (100$). It will obviously not be as extravagant as this shown one (300$) for the plastic liner alone, over 1000$ overall is cheap for a fully built pond with proper filtration, with plants and rocks.
@@Ohdipson8 use lime stone liner you could make a 600 gallon pond for 99$ using it. Pumps are 30$ on Amazon as well. You may be able to find some old pool liner if you ask around enough even. Wish you the best of luck in building your pond.
Just read where it's no longer being filmed...then read this..is it still being produced? I just discovered these and loved my binge watching...hoping it's still being produced.
Nice video! My neighbor put in a pond and learned that you should also think about putting places where critters can get out if they get into the water. He found a dead rabbit in his and a few birds, too.
Small suggestion. Before adding the backfill sand, temporarily place some concrete block on the bottom of the liner. This will help prevent the liner from moving as you add the backfill.
Perfectly lovely little pond. Thanks for sharing! Would liked to have seen a close-up on how the landscape around filter looked when finished. We're also looking at putting in an overflow drain, and an auto-refill....totally self sustaining.
@Yudi Wang I have one of those ponds it's dug into the ground an around the edge has rock wall so when it overflows nothing can exit except water or drill small overflow holes around the top of pond
I'm hooked on this Monica person. It's so empowering to see a woman lead a conversation in home improvement and do it so well. I know they're out there, and I feel like more women would be encouraged to learn with some good leaders.
That’s different, I just see her as a person. Dosnt even occur to me to label her as a leader or taking charge. She’s hosting the show and I would have the same thought if it were a man talking. Seems like you can’t just enjoy the show without attaching labels and roles from your built in complex.
Appreciate the video! You might want to try a drum filter for even better pond care. It cleans the water on its own and needs very little maintenance. It’s also energy-efficient, costing only about 50 cents a month. If you’re looking for an easier way to keep your pond clean, this could be a perfect fit.

Hi Radu, it is the GREAT STUFF Pond and Stone 12-oz Straw Indoor/Outdoor Spray Foam Insulation. 👍 Here is a link to the spray: www.lowes.com/pd/GREAT-STUFF-GREAT-STUFF-Pond-and-Stone-12-oz-Spray-Foam-Insulation/1000040497
Spot on both of You! Watched it all the way in Australia. I have learned to put an escape for water that would lift and tilt a pond like that. I happened 2x. Trees I would keep well away. I have two ponds connected with a waterfall but it does not always run. So I need to wait for my Springtime! Richard
Respectfully, a Koi pond must be a minimum of 3ft. deep & each adult Koi requires 500 Gallons of clean, well oxygenated water...sorry, that's a Goldfish pond at best & if that's gonna be your only filter, you'll need to replace your pads or clean 'em out on a weekly basis. It's a cute little pond though & I don't mean that sarcastically. My other concern would for the fish' safety from Herons, Raccoons, Hippies, etc. There is no escape from predators in such a shallow & small water feature. It's just a matter of time until it's sushi time, and you glance out the kitchen window, only to notice upon the neighbor's roof, your $300 prize Koi getting chowed down on by a Giant Blue Heron.
It's kinda like Christmas lights on people's homes all year round. There are those families who never remove their lights and have them up all year round. I'm not sure how the sun and years of aging hasn't killed those wires. But if you consider that a baseline you will understand. Also the plastic coating on the electrical is made to withstand years and years of this. Which is why we recycle stuff that can't biodegrade easy. Number one is plastic and rubber.
I want to build a bigger and deeper pond just like yours…would the pond system you have do the job or do I need a bigger one or do a need a different system of pump.
The more gallons of water in your pond the stronger your pump needs to be, if not, it will not be able the move the water properly. Once you know how many gallons your pond has the pump will say how many gallons the pump is designed to handle.
Is there some kind of petition to bring the weekender back? I miss it! And it comes in handy with people like me who have no clue on how to work power tools!
I'm a little confused about connecting the hoses to the pond fiiter. I know the upper goes to the pump, but is the otherchise just laid in the waterfall and not connected to anything?
Make sure that the water is clean and you are able to take care of it properly, like cleaning the water and making sure the right type of bacteria grows In there, cause that in the video is clearly just for show
Do a search for flagstone in your area. I only saw 1 at Lowes store but it was like 2 inches thick. That's to heavy. You should have stone suppliers near by.
If you live in a northern state where your town has sand for roads you maybe able to get your sand free from your local town. Just some tips on saving money for your small landscaping needs.
Yay! So happy to see Monica, please bring back the Weekender.
It's been 2 years. It's not coming back.
I just discovered the weekender ..I just read this where it's no longer being done..sad..
It's best to put the pump at the furthest end from the waterfall as it helps the water to circulate properly.
Oh I thought you were saying like SPOOKY MONTH

I built a 10x 15 pond in my backyard by hand almost 2 years ago now I love it so much
The didn't go into it but please do plenty of research on filtration and keeping good water parameters if you get fish

Is there a way to connect two of these ponds together so koi can swim between the 2 thank you 😊

What ????? place bricks down and srat fire ,,,thats it

The makers of the video don't need to think that far ahead

Moss would really make the rocks pop. Plus it would probably assist in the filtration of the water.

Thanks for the information! 💕
Do you ever struggle with mosquitoes due to this pond?
Fantastic for aquatic plants and the zen sound of water. I wouldn't put fish in it.
If one is to add fish, they should wait until the water is clear. But first add the declorinization chemicals and such.
One question: Is the electric wire safe being on the wet ground? No conduit of any sort needed?
Sam 2000 all pond and aquarium pumps have thicker insulated wires so it could be able to withstand being submersed in water

I have had a pond for many years. I always have to connect to an extension cord. I have never had a problem.
Are you able to pump the water out for the winter
Anyone else feel like they said 3” deeper than the pond liner But they didn’t dig nearly that deep?
We're basically doing the same thing to our back yard. We're half way done and we're buying everything at lowes 👍

That is stunningly beautiful and would love to make one and add Japanese Koi.
Thank you - I'm looking at creating a pond and this is really helpful.

Ooh darn I want a larger pond with lights!
You could always dig a larger hole and use just the liner. You could source out lighting online. Just look for submersible lights.
