The Banadir people played a significant role in the spread and propagation of Islam in East Africa, one group in particular are the Qahtanis (also known as Reer Faqi), who alone produced over 100+ Shuyookh, Qudaat, Islamic literature, educational institutes and so on. Their influence can be echoed throughout the coast of East Africa up until today.
لعب الشعب البنادري دورًا مهمًا في انتشار الإسلام ونشره في شرق إفريقيا، ومن بينهم على وجه الخصوص القحطانيون (المعروفون شعبيا أيضًا باسم رير فقي) ، وقد ظهر فيهم أكثر من 100 شخصيات دينية بما فيهم شيوخ وقضاة وأدباء ومعلمين. ويتردد صدى تأثيرهم بشكل واضح وملحوظ في جميع أنحاء سواحل شرق إفريقيا حتى اليوم.

Ma sha Allah thats deep history. One thing is that he mentioned …not all reer xamar residents were happy because of the selection of farqudiin as sultan. This is actually the reason many of the reer xamar tribes left Mogadishu and started going to the rest of the coast.
True, they moved to Marka and Barawa, there’s Ashraaf and Qahtanis all the way down in the comoro island, I wonder if they came from Hamar too.
@@aidarus4684 Some Qahtanis like Hatimis originally lived in southern swahili cities before going upwards to banadir coast. There's also ashraaf in Mayotte they had a sultanate there

@@mohamedabdulaziz2203 most of the ba alawi and al ahdali come from Yemen, Hadhramout..city called Tarim. They come to Mogadishu first, then left and went to other citys like barawe and marka. For example Sharif Aydarus in the history of his family he says his ancestor came from Tarim around 16th century.

اسمه ونسبه وكنيته
اسمه : محيى الدين معلم مكرم
نسبه: القحطاني, اليمني الصومالي المقدشي مولدا.
كنيته: شيخ الكمل.
مولده ونشأته:
ولد الشيخ في عام 1247هـ ونشأ يتيما في حضن أمه التي هيأت له أسباب العلم والنبوغ.
شيوخه :
الشيخ عبد الرحمن بن الشيخ (الشيخ الصوفى ).
والشيخ أبو بكر بن إبراهيم الجنبللى.
والشيخ العابد أحمد حاج المهدى وغيره من أجلاء علماء أرضنا الصومال ، وقد لقي الشيخ محيى الدين معلم مكرم من أخير الصالحين وعلماء فاضلين فأقتبس منهم وحظى ببركاتهم وأثنى عليه المشائخ العارفون وعظموه ومدحوه وأذنوا له بالفتوى وكان عمره 19 سنة .
أقوال العلماء في الثناء على الشيخ:
أثنى العلماء على الشيخ محيى الدين ثناء عاطرا ووصفوه بالعلم والورع ومن أبرز أقوالهم في ذلك مايأتي:
قال الشيخ ابوبكر بن الشيخ حاج المهدي: كان الشيخ محيى الدين يفسر جميع كتب الفقه متعمقا في شروحه كأنه حضر الوحي عند نزوله عن -النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم- وأسمع الحاضرين ما أعجزهم في الإتيان به من دقائق معني الفقه.
قال الشيخ أبو بكر بن شيخ محيى الدين: لو استقصينا ثناء العلماء على الشيخ محيى الدين في حفظه وإتقانه وعلمه وفقهه وورعه وزهده وعبادته لطال علينا, وقد كان صفاته رحمه الله في غاية الحياء والشجاعة والكرم والورع, فكان الشيخ محيى الدين جامعا بين العلم والعمل.
قال فيه الشيخ علي صوفي: لو لا مكان العجم لكان شيخي الشيخ محيى الدين بن معلم مكرم أفقه من ابن حجر الهيثمي.
سيرته وأخلاقه:
كان الشيخ محيى الدين معلم مكرم مهابا جدا وكان مقصدا لطلاب علم الفقه ودراسة الكتب المعتمدة في المذهب الشافعي مثل الإرشاد والمنهاج وغيرهما يأتون إليه من أطراف أراضى الصومال وليس معهم مال يستعينون به على تحصيل العلوم . وكان كثير البر بأهل العلم من الطلبة الفقراء ويحسن إليهم بأن يحث على أغنياء بلده بكفالة طلبة العلم فيكون الطالب عنده ويعيش معه فيرضون بذلك ويعلم الشيخ الطالبين حسبة لله تعالى لايأخذ منهم شيئا .
قد نشأ فى عبادة المولى صغيرا فاستدام ، كان معوان العيون لأهل العلم ولسانا ناطقا لجميع أراضينا وبدرا بدا ، كان سره عظيما ، وكان ساكتا عن حديث الدنيا غير وقت الفضل عامرا بالورد وقته أو بالدرس .
وكان مخفوض الجناح لأهل الخير جم التواضع، وكان زاجرا لأهل الضلالة لايخاف ولايبالى لومة لائم في رد مقالتهم، أفنى عمره فى التعليم والإرشاد والتدريس فى المساجد وكان يدرس كل فن من فنون العلم ، لاسيما تدريس مصنفات الفقه مثل منهاج الطالبين للنووى مع شرحه ،وتحفة المحتاج لإبن حجر
