You have to laugh at how they spaced the jumps. No wonder everyone is out of control and doing Endos. They were just far enough away to not double but hit your front wheel on the face. Instant Endo or casing the jump. Riders and track designers didn't know what they were doing. It was all so new and novel. A spectacle.
Ah, nice! A much better version of the older video you had posted of this. I was there. Actually raced the 125B class and won, 1st out of 200 bikes. Took my son who races to the 2024 SX at the Linc. Talk about something being 100% different! Thanks for the updated video!
The evolution of Supercross. The tracks are too good. The bikes are too good. The riders are too good. I liked the unpredictability of the 80s when no one really knew what they were doing - just going for it hitting poorly designed jumps. Changes need to be made.
Bikes sucked back then. Tracks were natural and brutal back then. Riders were just as fast comparatively - maybe more so. Let's see Jett race one of these bikes on a NATURAL ungroomed Unadilla course.
I think times have changed it was a new sport to American,s back then obviously they got better making lame indoor tracks but making pieces of shit bike,s today? so now what? The rider's today aren't better at all there just hitting big stupid jumps nothing but air no motocross anymore
For all of us Moto dorks that love to re-watch old races on TH-cam and for the history, huge thanks for putting these together to watch. 👏 🙌
Better than the new ones. I can’t even watch them..
The old stuff is the best
The new stuff is poliiticly correct
@ old guys rule…

OMG Doug Domokos the wheelie king - RIP
Wow times have changed, racers have gotten a lot faster!
But now the tracks suq.
the older riders were pretty fast just dated equipment

I was at this race, still have the program.
Today they just use the streets to race on.
Before anyone understood how to design a proper track. Is Mark Barnett here ?
Only thing that hasn't changed is HRC holeshots!
I think there were places riders could double but no one had the balls to try back then. Where's Magoo?
Hard to believe that was actually a supercross track. But it was.
Jfk stadium where they had Live aid 5 years later
Playback at 1.5 or faster to look right
