Just amazes how Austin Bergstrom has changed so much. I remember when all it handled were flights around the States and one or two to Mexico or Canada. But now seeing intl flights out of it is just crazy like BA, KLM, and Lufthansa all flying there.
I was only in the Netherlands for a few nights, as we were using it as a stop over point before continuing on to our final destination. I won’t give away anything yet, but a certain song by Toto does come to mind…
Nice trip report. Great that you do narration which makes it easy to digest. Also like your stats for nerds section. Much appreciated from this fellow avgeek who also tries to make reviews like this.

I was there back in 2017 when Delta operated this route as a one-off due to SXSW. I didn't manage to catch that plane but I did manage to catch the Scandinavian Airlines plane headed for Stockholm that was also a one-off.
The voice over was a brilliant idea, clear & precise details of your journey to my beloved city Amsterdam (Iam Dutch, but now lived in Melbourne Australia), keep up the good work & your voice over was really appreciated it ******!!!!!! (Iam a new subscriber)
Exciting times to see Bergstrom Intl welcome new routes. I just hope that US carriers take some opportunities to fly out of KAUS instead of adding layers of connecting routes. AA and Delta could benefit from adding direct flights across the pond. I flew to Portugal in June from KAUS with United and I (unfortunately) hd two legs, with the last US bound taking off from Newark.
Thanks for stopping by, and In glad you enjoyed the video! I can’t make any promises about adding translations to each video, but I do know that TH-cam’s built in caption software can auto translate audio to captions in another language. I’ll still see what I can do about other means of translation though, as you bring up a very good point about foreign audience engagement.
Awesom awesome video. I know you and I fly out of the same area. (AUS) I was wondering if you were going to be doing this route soon. I am doing it in a couple of weeks. Then carrying it over to Dubai.
What do you mean? Like am I going to be flying this route again? I’ve already been and returned from my travels abroad, so now I’m just working through the footage I have. Glad you enjoyed the video though!
@@LonestarTrips no not flying the route again. I was wondering if you were planning on trying that route out and you did as I see in this video. I hadn’t flown long haul in a while and I little nervous about it.
@@LonestarTrips yes. I wasn’t sure if you were flying this route. I had been looking for travelers that had taken this route AUS-AMS…. And you did and made the video. That’s all. Not saying you me going again. I was excited to finally find a video of this trip
How was the comfort for economy seats? We are looking at taking this route but wasn’t sure if we should stick to delta. Did you carry on bags? Did they measure anything? Our bags are just if any 1 inch off from their policy.
Premium economy, at least on the Austin-Amsterdam route, is denoted by a select set of seats that can be upgraded to from economy. I don't think it's technically premium economy, but it's close enough.
Customer service was fine, although we didn’t check our bags, so I’m not sure how lenient they would be on that. I think it’s a labor law thing, at least in the US, where anything over 50lbs requires 2 people to lift, hence the increased price, so unlikely they’ll be able to be flexible on it.
Nice, please do more overnight plane trips, you didn’t say what your next video would be will it be northeast corridorrrrrrrrrrr=)=)=)I wish I could go to Europe because I’ve never left the US in my LIFE, their are reasons I will never take a plane again plus Europe is dangerous so I wouldn’t touch it now, July 10-16 2022 I will be on a camping trip in upstate NY and Yesterday I had a 19 Mile beautiful bike trip, anyway let me know what your next video will be=)=)=)
I live in europe and I am very much safe here at least I dont have the fear of going shopping and getting shot by some mad person with a gun like you do in america
Amsterdam/the Netherlands (wherebthe guy in the video went to) is safer then the USA. Some olaces in Europe are more dangerous but in general Europe is safer, especially the Netherlands.
I just got back from my travels, so MBTA is on the way! I don’t know exactly when it’ll be coming, but I have the footage, so sooner rather than later. As for Sounder and SunRail, I plan on heading up to the Pacific Northwest to check out Amtrak Cascades, Sounder, the Coast Starlight, and other rail lines in the area at some point in the future, but as for SunRail, I’m not sure when that will happen. My plan was to check it out while I was in Florida, but after my train from Miami to Orlando got cancelled, I wasn’t able to fit SunRail into my schedule. If I end up going back out to Florida for the launch of a Brightline Orlando, I’ll be sure to film a video on it then.

The views coming in to Amsterdam are incredible! I wish I could’ve shown more, but it would’ve dragged on for much longer than would be entertaining.

Man you fortunate you got to takeoff on 36R with a Dreamliner
Yeah, it was amazing! If only the sun was in a slightly different place. The glare on the window made it hard to see and even harder to film.

There doesn't appear to be a Premium Economy section on the Austin - Amsterdam route? Just Business & Economy?
