The amount of work that must have gone into just this bit is incredible to think. Hand drawn animation this smooth and beautiful is extremely time consuming and it came out amazingly. Props to the animators for this one.

Honestly the best thing about this is the fact that despite such beautiful animation the style still has quirks that immediately make you think of family guy, like how Lois’ nose is drawn and the way the camera moves around the scene!

Hand drawing animation for Disney has become more expensive especially since while the hand drawn movies in the early 2000s while they did make a lot of money, they didn’t make enough money to where they can risk continuing to make hand drawn animation movies. They’ll eventually return to it but rn digital effects are just a cheaper, faster and more convenient way to make movies for profit
Hand drawn animation these days is more expensive than it has ever been. That's because there isn't enough demand for it to trigger economies of scale anymore, so producing a hand-drawn feature film these days would require a lot of upfront investment. That said, there are ways to mimic the old style. The anime Megalobox caught headlines during its run because it managed to make the anime look like it was made in the 80s despite using modern tools.
True, but the show relies on topical humor a lot, and animation like this takes time. So we would likely end up with excruciatingly long wait periods between episodes, as well as sacrificing the shows topical edge if they turned to something this good looking. It’s the same reason South Park’s animation is so choppy since their usual subject matter can change on a dime.
Whether you like MacFarlane's type of humor or not, you have to give the man credit for his talent of being able to sing so well while maintaining those voices. And major props to the animation artists who were able to mimic that Disney style so well with these characters.

The amount of work that must have gone into just this bit is incredible to think. Hand drawn animation this smooth and beautiful is extremely time consuming and it came out amazingly.

I heard they’ll eventually come back to it but not at the moment. Hand drawing animation for Disney has become more expensive especially since while the hand drawn movies in the early 2000s while they did make a lot of money, they didn’t make enough money to where they can risk continuing to make hand drawn animation movies. They’ll eventually return to it but rn digital effects are just a cheaper, faster and more convenient way to make movies for profit
Hand drawn animation these days is more expensive than it has ever been. That's because there isn't enough demand for it to trigger economies of scale anymore, so producing a hand-drawn feature film these days would require a lot of upfront investment.
That said, there are ways to mimic the old style. The anime Megalobox caught headlines during its run because it managed to make the anime look like it was made in the 80s despite using modern tools.
Ikr, their current stuff is so ugly and looks so bland. Like Frozen, they all look like each other and look hideous.

True, but the show relies on topical humor a lot, and animation like this takes time. So we would likely end up with excruciatingly long wait periods between episodes, as well as sacrificing the shows topical edge if they turned to something this good looking. It’s the same reason South Park’s animation is so choppy since their usual subject matter can change on a dime.

Whether you like MacFarlane's type of humor or not, you have to give the man credit for his talent of being able to sing so well while maintaining those voices. And major props to the animation artists who were able to mimic that Disney style so well with these characters.

Gotta give family guy credit. They did a great job recreating the rotoscope look that old Disney had and a great job on the song too.
