One of my favorite NY songs. Thanks, nice. That little C chord hammer on between the E and A in the second fret is so classic NY. Its one of his hallmark moves he does on many of his songs, and its a nice trick to throw into other songs to spice it up a bit on an open C chord.
Great Job brother. Its the little things in the Neil songs that make them so great! You help us to capture them! On a side note.... i just got a Martin d15m burst! how are you liking it? very playable guitar right? easy!
I play it in standard tuning b/c my voice is higher and I can't sing it tuned down. But, that's just me. If your voice is lower, tune it down. And, I guess is someone has a higher voice than mine, they can capo whoever it works. That's the beauty of guitar - so many options to suit each player. Have fun!
Andrew Thank You 10,000 times ! That’s what we always say too😃 It’s Neil Young..... as I’m sure you know, he plays it different through the years. There’s no single way to claim is THE Correct way. You’ve done a GREAT 👍🏻 job here teaching this classic favourite of so many people. Keep up the good work !
Driving me crazy ! When I hammer the F# on the D string in the opening chord (D), the ring finger fretting the D note on the A string constantly mutes the open D below. I can never get clean hammer on. Is the action too high or is there some trick I'm missing? Don't play acoustic much, but play Strat for 40 years or so. I tuned down to D so I can play along with Decade version and sounds great except for the stupid hammer on I can't seem to get right.
It could be that your action is too high. The other thing could be hand position - try to increase the arch in your ring finger and come down right on the finger tip of the ring finger on the A string so the ring finger is not leaning toward the D string. Hope that helps.
Thanks. Short, and to the point.

Play it like Neil. The original live recording and found on Decade, Neil is tuned down a step to DGCFAD.

Ok. Will try. Thanks! BTW, I don't hear the hammer on on the G string in the opening D chord. You are showing the Decade version?
Hey, how do play that guitar with the neck bent like that?
What’s strumming pattern for g
Tune the low E to D, capo 3 and play it in D (sounds in F). All the licks are very simple
Can you simplify this please
Way too slow teaching
Way too quick complaining
