    His playing has always been so deceptive… Sounds like it’s so easy a beginner can do it, but when you try it it’s easy to fall flat on your face.
    Great lesson, David!

    I read an interview where BB said he listened to Charlie Christian and Django when he was learning.

    Great historical background information about B B King and the show where these licks came from! Please, keep those historical intros coming!

    David, i found that last "jazzy" lick most unusual and interesting...going to incorporate that into my BB King licks collection....:-)....thanks...great video...as ever...
    and no...i'm glad i wasn't there at the concert in Sing sing in 1972 at the time......:-D......not a "desirable" residence...even then....

    Awesome playing as usual!! Could you do some licks from Mick Taylor while he was in The Rolling Stones or George Harrison. Or another cool one idea for you. you would be to play cool riffs from a certain album. Pick any album and teach a few licks off that specific album. Thanks for all you do!!

    nice job..would love to see you do a few more "foundation" blues players...maybe Peter Green could make your list.

    B.B. doesn't get enough credit for his soulful and authoritative singing. Lucille and he were the perfect duo. 🎸🎤

      Well, he was introduced as "the world's greatest blues singer" on 'Live at The Regal', but I agree, during the 60s and 70s his voice was exemplary.

    For a lack of better word, you are such a wonderful story teller; inspite of being so rare passionate guitar player/teacher in You tube. I stumbled into one of your videos a while back (mozart with tabs) and lessons on Randy Rhoads. As a kid, I grew up in boarding school ; where my teachers, mentors, seniors, n all were bullies, and physically/mentally abusive nazi scums. I was a music fan, And the only refuge I found was in listening/writing essays on rock/metal . I haD a teacher with whom I had a guitar lesson for like six months. He was like an guardian angel . He was so similar to you in regards with passion/influences/n all ( JS Bach, Randy Rhoads, Eric Johnson, Iron Maiden). But after few months of lessons, he disappeared for ever. After 20 plus years, his memories still linger on. You remind me of him, man. Sorry, English is not my first language and , even though I don't understand all the technicality of theories, sherds n all . But, your so cool man. Peace be you ..Respect 🙏🙏

    Tip of the hat for name-checking the prolific filmmaker David Hoffman, who made the Sing-Sing doc. However, when I’ve watched the prison concert film, I’ve never said, “Gee, I wish I could’ve been there.”

    BB said he loved Wes Montgomery's playing specifically, but it's fair to take your pick of jazz guitarists from the 30's to the 60's.

    One of the three Kings. How appropriate for the holidays. BB says more with one note than Malmsteen says with a hundred. The father of so many legends. Who hasn't stolen from him, much like Chuck Berry. One of the building blocks of the blues as well as rock & roll. It's a shame how these guys were treated. Most never made any money til the 70's. Muddy, Albert, Freddie, Chuck and many, many others (to many to mention here) were taken advantage of back in the day. Basically the first 60 years of the 20th century and then some. Great lesson on one of the best blues players to ever walk the earth. You continue to impress.Thank you Mr.Brewster.

    • @voronOsphere
      @voronOsphere 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have a point, Derek, especially when it comes to other guitarists, but Yngwie is also a complete master of playing "one note" and making it totally sing!

    • @deke61sg
      @deke61sg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@voronOsphere I was not trying to slam Yngwie as some may think. He's a great player, a virtuoso if you will. I've seen him live a few times and have some of his CDs as well. Absolutely an amazing player. I just think BB is more emotive. BB doesn't "shred", obviously two totally different styles. No slam intended. Just expressing "my opinion". Appreciate your comment.

    • @voronOsphere
      @voronOsphere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deke61sg No worries and I totally understand the sentiment of your original comment. For me, there are tons of virtuosos that are amazing, yet don't float my boat like Yngwie or B B King do. And I love hearing opinions of any sort.
