    I have built three different compressors with that compressor pump and I love them. I just order a 3/4" inch hydraulic hoses to connect the pump to tank it cost me $35ish for a new hose off eBay. and I figured out after the first one I built that 4.25" pully was a bit to big. motor running at 3450 a 4" pully put my rpm right at 1000 rpm only 50 short of the max rpm for the pump. wish I ha come across the video 5 or 4 months earlier.

      Do you have a link for the hose or any other information you could share on what to look for on a hose from pump to tank

    I used the recommended 4.25" pulley per the instructions and that's causing the 5hp motor to overheat if you are using tools like an air sander which requires the compressor to cycle frequently. I'm curious if the 4" pulley has that same problem. (The motor is made in USA, so I think it's really rated for 5hp.)
    The HF pump is a lot faster than my old pump. Also a lot quieter.

      So far I have not experienced the motor getting hot. Though I have not worked it really hard yet. Just a blow gun and my hutch DA sander. This pump is quieter then to old one. The old one had a really loud what I would call a pounding sound. This v twin style pound doesn’t have that. I really like this new pump.

    How do you block off the line that goes to the unloader valve on the compressor if you don't want to use the unloader valve?

    Wow, I have the exact same Campbell Hausfeld tank and motor as you do. Been wanting to do this upgrade for a very long time. How is it working for you, and do you still recommend the 3.95" pully that you used. One more thing if you don't mind, how long does it now take to fill the 60 gallon tank from 0 PSI. My pump takes 20 plus minutes to fill, which I know is not working correctly.

    • @sdavidb5620
      @sdavidb5620  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With my old pump the 0psi to full was 5 minutes and 13 seconds. Recovery time was 1 minute 7 seconds. The 3.95 pulley seems to be working well so far.

    Has anyone looked at the surface area of filters .it seemed very minimal to me I modified mine to allow more exposed area

    Air compressing. How did that brass piece enter into the factory sealed check valve? It looks like a compression ring for a compression coupling fitting. So, odd! Sabotage??

    • @sdavidb5620
      @sdavidb5620  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is actually solder. From the two 45s I used to make the feed pipe. From the pump to the tank. I had not done any solder work in some time. So I ending up getting a bunch in the pipe. That ran down to the check valve.

    What belts size(part#) do you use. Thank you very much. I just saw the bag of the L565 belt. Is that what you use on the pump ?

    • @sdavidb5620
      @sdavidb5620  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that is the belt size I used. Keep in mind I added 4” to the end of the mounting plate. Another person commented that I could have used a belt length calculator. This is one I found with a Google search.

    My compressor will turn itself back on randomly...and other times I have to go and hit the reset! Just changed the one way valve ...and still no luck any help would be great

      First thing that comes to mind would be a faulty pressure switch. I am not sure on how to test them. But here are two links that may be helpful.

    Isnt it spinning the wrong way ? I was under the impression that the cooling fins veed to be pushing air over the compressor, not sucking?

    • @sdavidb5620
      @sdavidb5620  ปีที่แล้ว

      So, watching the video it does not look quite right. But standing by the pump while running. There is plenty of air blowing onto the pump.
